Cops hide behind mistakes (their failure to know the law is an excuse) and officer safety. It is time thug cops start to pay out of their own pocket. That is the only way they will learn, just like the rest of us are held accountable.
The way they bluffed all the way to a jury trial shows they get away with it most of the time. I’m just glad Jamal rode it out and called their bluff. Most people can’t afford or have the time to do it.
He was arrested for looking into cars from a public sidewalk. So they arrested him, took his keys, illegally entered his car without a warrant, and stole his phones and laptop. I would love to hear ANYONES explanation of why they did these things.
Some of these guys honestly believe they are part of a global war on terrorism. They don't actually know much more about terrorism beyond the generic shit just about any American is fed. Since they don't know anything, they see stuff like this and immediately jump to the conclusion that they are going to combat terrorism somehow. As if terrorists peer into windows while in plain view to arouse suspicion. Since they are "fighting terrorists" the ends justify the means, because bin Laden, ISIS, the Taliban, or whatever. In short, this happens because they're idiots. The average cop, especially in big cities, is just not smarter than the average citizen. Hey, let's give them guns and arrest powers from the State!
And they know concocting false, baseless charges will NEVER affect them either professionally or civilly, so they abuse their powers of arrest to teach this citizen his lesson, "Do as we say, or else".... I hope his lawsuit victory floods his bank account with heaps of $$$
False arrest seems to be part of their job. While in jail, I heard someone say, "Go ahead and sue who you have to sue." They could care less because it won't be one of them.
You are spot on that he committed no crimes and the goons committed too many to count. Just to be clear, qualified immunity has nothing to do with whether they would be criminally charged, only civil liability for their violations of Jamal's natural rights. They won't be charged due to myriad other reasons.
The fact that the prosecutor waited the very last second to drop all charges really show that he knew from the start that there was no case but he hoped that fear would scare Jamar into accepting a plea deal.
Yup mine has twice, even sadder is most people have no idea how corrupt police are. They are certain the cops are their friends and will not believe ANYTHING you say. It's the most frustrating situation you don't ever want to be in. The cops are the most vile criminals I've ever had to deal with and I've been in Prison for years.
That’s TERRIFYING. A forced hero worship kind of game that so many officers will play, ruin peoples lives and then go home to their friends and families when their shift is over, but the ability to just walk away without a care in the world.
A year and a half ago, the Lady Lake, Florida Police did the same thing to me without warning on a public sidewalk. The state's prosecutor offered me a horrendous plea deal. I didn't do anything wrong. I told them no deal. Two days before the trial they dropped all charges. I am suing the cops individually and the city for rights violations! I couldn't find an attorney to sue the state!
They always offer a plea deal to get you wrapped up in the system.forever probation. It also usually means they don’t have nothing on you and hope you take it.
@@f.t.ppress5924 The criminal state prosecutor knew from day one that I didn't break the law and I even got the police admitting that I was exercising my rights days before the state's prosecutor formally filed charges on me for trespassing on a public sidewalk.

This whole dept. Is 100% corrupt from top to bottom. They said * that was the 2nd lieutenant out there* then said * sue whoever ever you want, now you're in jail*..They must do this everyday to ppl. Hope he gets so paid. Why is this not on the network news I wonder.
This conduct is taught. It’s passed down through the ranks. Looting someone’s car to seize property with no warrant is the very definition of operating under the color of law. He was offered plea deals because that’s how stupid these people think we are. The fact a DA would even offer it just says they need to be fired alongside these corrupt tyrants.
This dude is gonna have a nice police retirement after his law suit completes. You have to be courageous enough to go through the whole process and let them dig themselves deeper. Remember to finish the lawsuit. Don't settle
@@trickwheel exactly .like the issue is that people keep going for lawsuits instead of pressing criminal charges against cops.cops know most people cant afford a good lawyer and court fees to get these cops locked up so they just antagonize whoever they feel like.this people should learn more about the law so they could be their own lawyer's and get true justice
@@kingc1198 They aren't the ones that decide where the criminal charges are going to be brought against the police. That decision is by the DA alone. DAs are POSs too And they just declare "Qualified Immunity" and walk away.
I totally agree with what you said n the cops are totally in the wrong as usual. At the same time I think they should change the law on this. You're telling me you're allowed to go up to random cars and videotape what's inside anyone's car? I think that's shady and needs to be changed.
You used to be allowed to purchase tint on your windows so that random people and police could not just look into you vehicle but they made it illegal.
@@joelfrankel708I understand what you’re saying so I think they would have a right to detain him and ask him questions. I’m curious which district attorney tried to make deals knowing that they had a losing case.. shouldn’t have it been thrown out immediately? Because this DA should be debarred if they’re pressing charges on something that never happened
That’s the game DAs play because it’s not their money, and time they are playing with. They offer plea deals hoping you get scared and stressed out enough to break down and accept it.
@@DaylightDisinfectant let’s see… But this can’t be a democracy when they can break the law without worrying about consequences and the people are thrown the book at for the very same crime they commit.

Jamar has ice waster running through his veins. Jamars ability to remain calm, polite and composed under these extreme circumstances is remarkable. Jamar appears to be on the level of Phillip Turner. Hopefully Jamar will also have civil rights case law with his name on it like Phillip Turner.
@Ericlogos at first I was like yep honor your oath investigations has a point but then I read your comment and agree with you more. Either way this is a hell of a pay day.
And, that's how a well trained and experience police officer would know he wasn't up to anything nefarious. Not many people can stay calm and collected like that when they are in the progress of committing a crime and get approached by police officers. The few who can, missed a good job as a Navy SEAL or something, because they have ice water running through their veins. But, after 28 years as a LEO, I could tell the difference between annoyed and scared in five seconds. And, your ego has to let you be able to walk away from annoyed.
Don't let either case go. You have an open and shut Case that's in your favor, 100%. They violated so many of your constitutional rights, that it's unreal. I commend you for keeping a cool head and not escalating and giving them the attitude that they were trying to push out of you. Great Job! 👍🏽💯
The fact that they took his car keys and found his vehicle and illegally entered it legit blows my mind. That’s the same as you being arrested and the cops then go to your house with your keys and enter your home and start logging shit as evidence lol
Or stealing your stuff, then claim qualified immunity after getting caught and not denying they stole stuff. Watch Lehto's Law. He cited a case where cops searched a home and a cop stole cash. Got caught and got qualified immunity because there is nothing saying a cop can't steal it (to get QI throw out there has to be a substantially similar pecedent.) Just knowing theft is illegal was not enough, have to prove a cop should know not to steal cash during a search. MAKES NO SENSE, but he got away with it so far. I think it is going to the Supreme Court.
@@andykelp6008 how that makes it past lower federal or state courts is mind blowing unless the Supreme Court just wanted to make a unanimous decision that cops can’t steal.
"That's between you and the judge but TODAY you have to eat that one" they are showing they know that they are simply using their power of arrest as a punishment all on its own to enforce their own feelings.
How these idiots feel when they fine out they were wrong these fools need to pay some part of these funds out of their pockets then a lot of this unnecessary arrest will stop how could these officers working in law enforcement and don’t know the law these idiots need to go to class about the laws they need to enforce and receive a book that they could check ever so often if they forget how hard could that be if it take two years to become a barber why should it take months to become a cop and dealing with people life come on America fix this problem you try to fix other countries problems and you can’t see this problem right here at home this is a big disgrace people telling the cops the law and how it work and they have to call a supervisor how sometime don’t even know the law and then the taxpayers pay for their stupidity
Hats off to this young man for standing his ground as the bullies try to intimidate him. They feel empowered by numbers and try to humiliate the subject. I hope he successfully sues these tyrants.
I agree with you 💯. But the tyrants won't be sued, the city will. You and I have to pay for it. I think these corrupt cops should be held to account personally. So fed up with law enforcement violating citizens
The irony of arresting him for looking into vehicles, not illegal, then breaking and entering his vehicle and stealing his stuff, with no warrant, is hard to stomach.
I like classic cars, and whenever I used to see one in a parking lot, I used to look inside. I liked to see what mileage it had, if the dash was original with original radio, if seats were original, etc. After seeing numerous videos like this, I don't do that anymore, out of fear of arrest. I only look inside them at classic car shows now.

Prosecutors have absolute immunity, which is even stronger than qualified immunity. That means that prosecutors are even less accountable and more corrupt than the cops. Having followed Lackluster’s channel for months and with videos such as this I've made the decision to not leave my home without the redundant ability to record ANY AND ALL police interactions. To this end, I currently have 3 smartphones and a GoPro11. I have dedicated one smartphone to live streaming, and one to recording using the MobileJustice app that when recording is stopped AUTOMATICALLY sends the recording to the preselected ACLU regional office of your choice. The third smartphone will be set up on my Osmo Gimbel which allows for image stabilization and tracking. On the first of the month, I’ll be adding a personal bodycam to the mix. What Jamar went through was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. Officer “Friendly” does not exist! It's not paranoia it's reality in today's America.
There is an army of those in blue, whose main goal is to take your freedom and ruin your life..They are unaccountable and follow no rules or laws..They are the most unAmerican of us all, and they despise the only thing that makes America better than other countries, our rights..
Because they are humans who were raised in the same society we were. This is why I don’t believe in any system where another has power over me, because they’ll abuse it. But it’s also why I’m don’t hate all police, because I know most of the ppl who follow these channels like I do would be tyrants themselves if given the opportunity
And after all that they STILL went to his vehicle and took phones and computers out that didn't have ANYTHING to do with what they were 'charging' him with?! WTF
They took all that stuff because they were desperate and needed to find something. It probably works on most people but Jamal knew he was innocent and rode it out. Unfortunately, most people can’t afford to do it.
They should bankrupt these devil's and not the citizens, they should sue the subhuman devil's that wear the uniforms, the Union's that defend them, the courts that let them walk free, and the judges that sit by and enjoy the show!!!
Way less likely under Trump for sure, although I suspect Trump might be better all around on different issues..But, no leader is worth the time from our day, to go and cast a vote, that is why we are at, where we are at..
I don't think this BWC was muted. It seemed to me that the audio was redacted, before release, due to personal/identifying information being read over the radio that was blaring into the BWC microphone through the whole interaction. I would like to know what was said during that portion of the incident, though.
Police stations have to add the option to mute audio when they purchase body cameras. The default is without a mute button. This shows premeditation at a high level.
The prosecutor that went along with the malicious prosecution should be under the jail for treason and the judge that allow this case to continue should also be under the jail for treason
I live in Chicago. Unfortunately, from now on this brother's got a target on his back... be sure the "officers " involved will spread his name, license plate and address around the station, and it will trickle through to surrounding stations... I sincerely pray for Jamal...🙏😢
He gets paid to support the police. Maybe an investigation by the Barr is called for. Chicago seems to have problems from the top down. They are not alone. All around the world, citizens are being made subject to this type of action by their respective Law Enforcement agencies. This should be worrying us all, as it feels more like controlling than policing.
No the prosecutor was threatening to do it because he refused the plead deals. The DA dropped the charges because he didn't want a precedent setting case on his hands. Unfortunately all that's left is the civil case which will get the auditor some money but it's clear the auditor was really looking for a case to set legal standards that didn't happen.
@@snooze821 if he entered a plea deal it would probably eliminate his ability to bring charges back against the police for this illegal action. Since he fought it he can sue.

It depends on what you think their job is. We all know what their job is officially purported to be, and they are definitely not doing that. But if you realize that their job is to bully and terrorize the tax cattle to keep us in our place and keep those fat checks and bennies rolling in, then they seem to be performing with utmost competence!
In case you are not aware, the pass IQ to be a policeman is 84. That is 2 above a chimp. The reason they want these workforce rejects is because they are compliant and will do whatever they are told without asking questions.
As long g as cops have qualified immunity and unions backing them up they will never be held truly accountable for their actions. Abolish qualified immunity.
While I agree with you, that wont' solve the problem of cops legally getting away with things. It wont result in any more facing time in jail for their crimes.
Always remember union representation or officers that ran in an election by their peers to become union officials so the union is the cops so it’s the blue line continuously there’s no true justice because when cops investigate cops they’re always found innocent regardless if they’re guilty or not.
Miranda is not required upon arrest. That is a tv/movie invention. It is required before questioning. All that means is that any statement would be inadmissible. The prosecutor might try to use "excited utterance" as an way to admit a statement.
Geez -- that went from, "Hey, what are you doing?" to him being cuffed and under arrest in about a minute. Seems obvious they knew this guy and wanted to arrest him. ... And to take his keys, find his car, then rifle through it -- I cannot imagine that was legal in any way shape or form.
I live in Chicago, and as much as I hate having to pay for the polices corruption and mistakes, I wouldn't have it any other way Jamar is doing God's work.
Ironically they look into car windows. Just seen to under covers exit a marked sherif vehicle and peered with both hands at a private vehicle parked at a gas station then laughed about it.
Both of these Officers need to have their Qualifications revoked so they can NEVER AGAIN WORK IN Law Enforcement ever!!! Maybe they will learn the hard way!!
First thing, never say anything, just ask them for your attorney… Second, never refuse processing, because they will make you pay for it. Go through the process and sue afterwards.
Chicago pd literally out here playing by there own rules. Being informed on how to handle these goofs was the only crime and they didn’t like that. Hope this man gets some justice with his lawsuits.
Officers: "You 'e under arrest for looking in cars thru the window." Also officers: Caught by dashcam ransacking Jamar's car and stealing phones and laptops out of it. Also officers' bosses: We investigated their actions and found no wrongdoing. Heroes, one and all.
This reminds me of living in Chicago. Someone robbed the change machine for the apartment laundry facility next to my apartment. The cops got a description of a Hispanic man who was 5'2". I'm white at 6'5" and my roommate is white at 5'10". The cops knocked on our door and forced their way into our apartment on "probable cause." They searched our entire apartment because we happened to live adjacent to the laundry facility.
@@NOTSOSLIMJIM Did your front door gun or security cameras stop them from entering your home? Cops will invent probable cause and literally put a foot in your doorway to prevent you from closing it without it being considered assaulting an officer. If you don't open the door they can't break in without a warrant by saying the smelled weed or something.
What did you expect ? tell us all what you thought the JOB of a terrorist is ? and don't try telling everyone that these Cops are just misbehaving Peace Officers.
The actual job of being a police officer requires at LEAST paralegal level understanding of criminal codes and my best guess based purely on anecdotal evidence, the average cop has less than a High School civics level knowledge of criminal codes in their jurisdiction.
Bingo. I was given a ticket yesterday. Reviewed it when I got home. Read the statute and he cited me with the wrong statute entirely. Spoke to attorney today and it will get dismissed because of his fundamental inability to understand the actual laws he's supposedly enforcing. Technical defense for me but a bit fat waste of time for tax payers in that town. 🙄
I believe I heard something about it being easier to sue prosecutors for malicious prosecution. When are they going to start arresting police for malicious arresting.

theyre not incompetent. theyre doing exactly as they are trained to do. Calling them incompetent is giving them too much credit. theyre scumbag government goons.
It not incompetence, it's "You might beat the rap (charges), but you won't beat the ride" pesky citizen... "go ahead sue me, it doesn't come out of my pay-chq".... With zero accountability cities almost incentivize dirty cops to be even more dirty...Take it out of their pension funds and watch this abuse stop immediately......
It depends on what you think their job is. We all know what their job is officially purported to be, and they are definitely not doing that. But if you realize that their job is to bully and terrorize the tax cattle to keep us in our place and keep those fat checks and bennies rolling in, then they seem to be performing with utmost competence!
They are doing exactly what they are expected to do, try and ruin our lives and take money from us.
The solution to police unions is RICO. If it can be used against abortion protestors it can be used against cops.
Everyone has to stand up against qualified immunity!!!!!
@@etherraichu It will make them hesitant to pull this shit if they don't get automatic qualified immunity.
I'm so grateful for you, Jamar. A single man can make a difference. Just think what a hundred more could do.
The prosecutor moved forward & offered a plea! Imagine how many people he railroaded
It's honestly disturbing
He/She 😏

I hope you win any and all lawsuits!
They told him he’s under arrest multiple times but never told him his rights 😂
Miranda is not required upon arrest. That is a tv/movie invention. It is required before questioning. All that means is that any statement would be inadmissible. The prosecutor might try to use "excited utterance" as an way to admit a statement.
You watch too much TV homegirl
Prayers to you brother...
And
Thanks Lack
Geez -- that went from, "Hey, what are you doing?" to him being cuffed and under arrest in about a minute. Seems obvious they knew this guy and wanted to arrest him. ... And to take his keys, find his car, then rifle through it -- I cannot imagine that was legal in any way shape or form.
They arrested him in about 30 seconds of contact
That'll teach him to not have his keys on him next time. But eh! He gets to add another case of jackals being stupid.
I live in Chicago, and as much as I hate having to pay for the polices corruption and mistakes, I wouldn't have it any other way Jamar is doing God's work.
Great courage...make them pay!
Ironically they look into car windows. Just seen to under covers exit a marked sherif vehicle and peered with both hands at a private vehicle parked at a gas station then laughed about it.
File felony charges against the police and persecutor with the State AG. See how they like being in jail
Police report states he had *THREE DOLLARS* They just looked like hundred dollar bills on camera.
8:42 the “not real” $100 bills. Where did you see the police report?

Both of these Officers need to have their Qualifications revoked so they can NEVER AGAIN WORK IN Law Enforcement ever!!! Maybe they will learn the hard way!!
Qualified immunity has GOT to go.
110% YES & NOW!!!
Should be called "Diaqualified Immunity." Assholes
Qualified Immunity = Sovereign Citizens.
I was born in the suburbs of Chicago and i can say that this is an accurate representation of how the cops out there act. I'm glad i moved away
Ive heard this so many times from so many parts of the country. It has to be endemic by now
First thing, never say anything, just ask them for your attorney…
Second, never refuse processing, because they will make you pay for it.
Go through the process and sue afterwards.
This brother stood strong the entire way, I applaud him for that.
Chicago pd literally out here playing by there own rules. Being informed on how to handle these goofs was the only crime and they didn’t like that. Hope this man gets some justice with his lawsuits.
"Justice" would be those cops doing time.
Officers: "You 'e under arrest for looking in cars thru the window."
Also officers: Caught by dashcam ransacking Jamar's car and stealing phones and laptops out of it.
Also officers' bosses: We investigated their actions and found no wrongdoing.
Heroes, one and all.
I doubt it was dash cam video. Looks like body camera video from cops too stupid to turn off or “drop” the body cam!
They will only learn and listen when they don't have qualified immunity.
We've actually heard police brag about it.
Updates are super important to me. Thanks! And please continue to update this and all stories you report🙏🏼
Never answer your door for police. Or use the chain lock if you do. They can't get in without a warrant if you don't open up
@@Chris-cv1yh why I have a security system with a speaker at my front door. When I do open the door, I have my front door gun.
And got away with the actions
That was a masterful audit!!! Great job young man
They don’t learn because it doesn’t come out of there pockets personally
And honestly you think in 6 months they can become lawyers and law enforcers LOL what a joke.
@@luisroldan8680 Yes...
That call said he was in the police lot looking in cars. He was on the street. This is absolutely ridiculous. Unbelievable.
Abolish qualified immunity on all three of them. Make sure they don't get a chance to work somewhere else and then attach yourself to their pensions
Keep us posted on this one for sure! Can't wait to see the results.
Thank you for sticking it out. You are a beast and I hope you win!
To take away a citizens freedom so casually and abuse of power is so wrong. It needs punishment and a little taste of their own behaviour
I believe I heard something about it being easier to sue prosecutors for malicious prosecution. When are they going to start arresting police for malicious arresting.
Contempt of court, perhaps
