Lack Luster myself having to go to Florida to pick up Parents on cruise ships. I remember being in Florida after Hurricane Katrina. We actually were in Mississippi. The Hotel was full. Both First Responders and Homeless because they lost everything. The civilians brought their private Pickups to move the FEMA trailer to New Orleans. Thay Lost everything and PD were in the same Hotel the only problem I saw was power overload from people trying to use too much power in Hotels. I saw Parks in Florida used for clean up storage of waste and a big AND will say big homeless CAMPS for people who had lost everything. There was NEVER a move out. The only thing that happened was when FEMA money ran out. They told people in the hotel they needed to start rebuilding. I never once saw this abuse by the Government in Florida. It was an EYE opening to see mass PD and power company Convoys going down the State. Very organized in my Humble opinion.

If only cops could take entering schools where there is an active shooter as seriously as they do with trespassing victims who have lost everything in a fire camping in park because they have nowhere else to go.

No offense, but 15 years of being a marine doesn't qualify you as Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator. No matter what you think, you are outmanned, outgunned, and outfunded.
"Never ever let these vermin sewer rats put you in handcuffs" - That is horrendous general advice. Even if you believe it to be an unlawful arrest, most lawyers would advise you to fight it in court, not get yourself killed by a gangster with a badge.
Their perceived and actual power is too much. The courts, judges, DA, police are all working together to screw over the average person. The government is too large that we have a waste of resources and these "vermin" have to keep making up BS to justify/advance their careers.
IMO policing needs more input/oversight from the community that they are policing. Even on a state level we are too diverse. NY being a great example. No one in the rural North/North East of New York lives the same lives and should be required to obey the same laws as someone that lives in NYC. Same with Dallas and East or West Texas.

I live in Medford and it is insane to see the local authorities act this way and not just the reporters but to those who lost their homes as well. They talk about the greenway in the video which is a several mile long walking and bike trail that crosses multiple towns in the valley. Ever since the fire it has essentially been one huge length of homeless camps. These are left much less bothered by the police with it being more of an “out of sight, out of mind” situation.
They want to suppress coverage of this kind of stuff because they actively know how bad it looks. They understand what they are doing, or being ordered to do, but do it anyway despite knowing it’s wrong. Which I think is worse.

The victims then had to pay to bond out of jail, hire an attorney maybe even lose their job while spending days or even weeks in jail. Then just before trial they would drop the charges. This was just a way to punish people without benefit of due process. Some, maybe even a lot, police departments still use this method of punishing citizens that do not "respect" them enough.

Honestly one of the more difficult parts of this whole situation for me is the entire city of medford has a massive homeless person issue, and the main population is located along the “bearcreek greenway”. It was supposed to be this nice scenic bike path connecting multiple cities together. Whereas now it’s been more or less overtake by people without homes. Instead of our city actually helping those people they spend tax payer money to sweep through the greenway and force them to relocate to different areas in town. A major one is Hawthorne park, where this incident takes place. During the fires most of the greenway was burnt from talent and phoenix down to medford, so these people had literally no where to go. It’s a shame to see what’s become here. Many times we refer to medford as methford because it is quite fitting.

I just don't think it's a smart decision. Life sometimes even randomly deals expensive events. I'd want that money just to feel secure.)
The only regret I have with helping her is that I had the chance (before her SSI to stop paying one of her fines (she was a clepto when drunk.) I could've maybe extended her life, by allowing her to serve time. But I suspect she would've found someone else to help her. Afterall, she had foodshare to trade for cash.
