How wonderful , not well , obviously saddened he couldn’t get back to work but uses his time to teach others , that’s a good guy. Here’s to you returning to health and work but most important of all health 🙏🏻
Thank you Alan for connecting with Mr Ideal to explain the "noisy" boiler. The diagrams and explanation were great and helped me understand what could be occuring with my boiler. Recently I have had building work in the same area as the boiler so it is likely that my boiler has sucked in the building dust so I need to get it serviced & cleaned ASAP. Ps: all the best to Mr Ideal as he recovers
Brilliant. As always there's so much packed into the short video. As you said before if you don't understand how it works you're going to struggle. Your tutorials do what so many others don't. They explain the process from start to finish. I always learn something new from watching your videos.
Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge. For someone like me whos also had 4years off work due to ill health, getting back out there is hard and your videos are helping no end. Hope things improve for you mate
Thanks Alan for connecting with Mr Ideal who explained, with some great visuals, what could be causing the vibrating sound in my Ideal 30 boiler. As I am in the middle of some building works near the boiler, it all makes perfect sense so I need to get it serviced & cleaned ASAP. Ps: All the best to Mr Ideal for a complete return to good health
Great to see you back Mr Ideal. I always learn something from your vids , thankyou for taking the time to make them and share your in depth product knowledge . I hope that your health situation improves , take care. Best. J
Have had a few of these and this describes the fault and the remedy perfectly. Proper servicing and not poke n goes is key... As always prevention better than cure!
Mr ideal hope you get better mate, as its blokes like you we need in the industry. Im going to be honest though and i find it the gas valve to be a common problem aswell, especially on the older logics,as when the methane gas hits copper, it reacts and forms copper sulphate or shale as people call it. Once it goes into the valve, it gets stuck in diaphragm causing the diaphragm to vibrate between high and low. Thats why on newer ideal models especially the logics when put into service mode it starts on SH now rather than SL to try and force the shale out of gas valve. But you are right, the callouts i get on ideals for humming noises is the venturi and outside of injectors have some dirt on them.
Definitely. I’d be more confident going to a logic that has a L2 or F2fault. At least I would have a starting position. I hope Mr Ideal gets better soon.
Hope your back on your feet soon Mr Ideal, excellent video. There are so many of these Ideals out there it’s worth getting them right, can see at least one day when I’m busy.
Thank you both for sharing the knowledge. I look after a lot of Ideal exclusives/ Atlantic’s in east London & this is a very common problem. They are very sensitive to debris buildup & also susceptible to the condense traps blocking up.
Thanks Mr Ideal and Allen. Very useful video and this is what I needed to know for my Ideal Logic 24 boiler. Occasional vibrating noise with F2 fault code. Speedy recovery Mr Ideal.
Wish good health Mr Ideal, happy to see you back in this channel, very informative. ALAN please can you make a play list of Mr ideal man's video, I have been looking for his previous video very difficult to find from so many, just a request if possible.
Get well mr ideal man your videos are great hope you can still make a few more for us very informative even for people who have been doing it for years.top man and you Allen
Nicely explained mr ideal.hope you get well soon, had a couple of these boilers with the spot welds broken on the burner. Makes one hell of a rattling noise. due to ignition failing and explosive ignition. I’m not sure if you have already covered that fault but it’s an Expensive repair .
mate again golden content, I work on ideals a lot and have had the reverberation on the fans on 30kw ESPs quite a bit, will be checking the injectors from now on, keep up the class education pal it's invaluable
Many thanks Mr Ideal and Allen, great video appreciate the depth and work that has gone into the content. The science is pretty straight forward, but it shows if it can happen given the right circumstances it will.
I really enjoyed this video, and found it really informative, thank you for sharing your valuable knowledge, the drawings were really clear and really helped me to understand, I hope you are keeping well, have really benefited from all the logic videos.
I had the exact same problem at the end of last year. The boiler would making farting noises when it modulated down sometimes locking out. And yes, the boiler was on a new build site still being constructed. There was a slimy build up around the injector. I've also had a spider egg sack stuck in the venturi causing the same problem.
Keep doing the vids mate. It’s hard to learn technical knowledge without working for a boiler maker. Technical will tell you what to test ect but not give you a technical video like this 👍👍👍
Just had a noise on ideal boiler , Engineer( British gas) carry out :strip cleaned boiler, injector cleaned, venturi and burner cleaned, noise on ignition. Cleaned electrodes , changed gas valve , flue air intake checked - condense cleaned and blew through to check clear , brushed out fan and cleaned - result the noise is still there but lower as before.
Great video so glad he’s back there loads of logics on my patch. Hope he gets better soon and returns to work and gets back to full health. Keep the videos coming
We didn't have any services at all, the boiler is whistling, with a strange noise (creaking) before to show F2 error on the front panel( the boiler stop then and fail to ignite) The plumber sent by the landlord has cleaned the injector but the issue remains the same. Because of no services at all after 2 years he said that the guarantee might not work but one of the valve could be faulty and needs to be replaced. I didn't know all this details but if you have a careless landlord and no maintenance for your boiler some problems may show up early or late.
I have an ideal logic heat 15 boiler which continuously from new over 7 years ago faulted L1 L2, and was very noisy every winter. This would happen when trying to maintain a steady heat of 21 deg in my home. I had it serviced every year and it passed all its safety checks. But the fault continued even after a new fan and many other parts were replaced unnecessarily. We were also was getting a very strong smell of rotten eggs which was making us very poorly, I didn’t know where the smell was coming from so I cleaned the sink and the drains, then replaced my washing machine dishwasher etc and yet the smell still continued. I explained all this to my gas engineer and the next day he came out to see me, contacted ideal for advice and it turned out the gas pressure going into the boiler from the meter was too high. The gas pressure to the boiler was 25mb and it had to be lowered to 21mb at the regulator, and we haven’t had any more problems, no faults and it’s so quiet now and the smell has also gone. When I complained to the gas company who have been looking after my boiler they denied everything.
Get well soon Mr Ideal. How do you clean the fans impellors? i find modern condensing boiler fans are more enclosed than old atsmospheric burners so not as easy to clean the impellor blades. Thanks
I had something similar 2 years ago following a throat infection, it took about 12 weeks or so to get back to work. I ate ox liver once a week for the nutrient boost (it has the most vitamins/nutrients of and food source known) get your blood work done too
I have a ideal logic 35 had the gas valve replaced it didn't show a fault code wise but said low gas check other gas appliance it now shows no fault but is still the same making g a horrendous vibration and noise it so loud ...where do I go from here ...
Appreciate this is an old video but does anyone have any tips regarding these logic boilers not having any of these usual service related noises noises but then you clean you the Venturi and injector and it becomes noisy? Thanks
Please my questions is : central heating system is working for short time and then it is not working for long time then it returning back working . Ideal logic combi esp35. please can you advice me ? Thanks
They can be running on building sites with loads of dust for years . I’ve came across some horror show. That blue o ring can split on the inside on that Venturi. Unfortunately it doesn’t come without the whole Venturi. 40 quid for an Oring🤮
Regularly through the day, my boiler will just start vibrating for a bit, F2 fault will flash up, vapour will come out the large pipe outside, then it'll reset itself and go back to normal, never have any loss of hot water and central heating works fine. Will do this multiple random times a day, ironically it only started doing this after it was serviced the first time after being overdue a service by about a year. Sound like it could be a problem with the injector?
damn Man fix yourself before helping us.. Thank you for this advise from Ferroli senior engineer south wales. anyone need help on ferroli boilers please contact me.

Hi Alan, hope you can answer a couple of questions please - whats difference between the Baxi Platinum 40 and Baxi EcoBlue Advance 40

Great video as allways pal. I've been to one today 30k system ideal and cleaned it, still the same situ. Initially it came up with an F3 fault?
i am sure you sorted it now? Thanks.
