"I'm right on top of that, Rose." Fun Fact: This movie was slammed by the critics (mostly for the dark comedic title), but has since amassed a cult following over the years. Say No To Drugs Fact: Production nearly stopped towards the end of shooting when Christopher Pettiet's drug addiction was getting out of control. The producers cut a few of his scenes to keep the film on schedule. Music Enthusiast Fact: The scene where Sue Ellen (Christina Applegate) first opens the lockbox full of petty cash contains the song Gimmie Some Money (1984) performed by Spinal Tap, marking the only time one of their songs is used in a film other than This Is Spinal Tap (1984). Casting Notes Fact: The original script was written with Winona Ryder in mind for the role of Sue Ellen Crandell. But she turned it down as she was working on both Edward Scissorhands (1990) and Mermaids (1990). Justine Bateman was later cast as Sue Ellen but left the project. Christina Applegate was cast after her Married... With Children (1987) costar Ed O'Neill, who was friends with a producer of the film, gave her the script. Keith Coogan was told he was too old to play 15-year-old Kenny. He was 20, a 22 months older than his co-star Christina Applegate. He came back to the audition in "stoner apparel" and a wig, and got the part.
One of my favorites! This, the Goonies, Clueless, Mom and Dad Save the Planet; they're all amazing! So excited to see the remake. Hope they didn't duck it up. Also, the "uniforms equals safety" argument is predicated on the knowledge that children from poorer socioeconomic backgrounds can't afford flashy and stylish clothes for school. That almost always leads to bullying, which almost always leads to physical harm. Usually the bullied kid harming themselves, or sometimes the bully harming the victim, but occasionally every once in a while it results in the victim harming indiscriminately. Uniforms being mandatory from the schools/state/law would help solve a lot of those problems.
@11:35 I met Josh Charles at a bar in about 1997. I mentioned every movie he’d ever been in (only forgot one) and he thought that was cool and we talked movies especially about a really unknown movie he’s in that I really like, (Cold Blooded) for a long time. He was super nice. Maybe 4-5 months later I was in the same bar and heard my name being called and it was him. He actually left his table and was weaving through the crowd to come talk to me. Treated me like an old friend. I was really impressed he’d remembered my name and wanted to hang out. Cool dude. Keith Coogan (the “dishes are done, man” brother) was in a lot of stuff. Toy Soldiers starring Wil Wheaton and Sean Astin and Hiding Out starting John Cryer. Kevin Smith had him cameo in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (iirc) as himself. Did you recognise David Duchovny before his big X-Files break ?
School uniforms are normal outside of america. Formal and sports. Horrible expense for parents, especially with multiple kids. Even worse as I grew so fast and needed new clothes and shoes every 2-3 months.
Oh, the memories. I was 15 going on 16 when this came out. I remember I was watching this on HBO as well as other flicks like Sleepwalkers, The Lawnmower Man, and Body Snatchers. I miss the good old days. Much simpler times and much better movies. Liked your reaction. 🍿🎥🎬👍
Back in the 90's I saw the commercials for this often, but I never saw the movie until now. The commercials had the part where the young guy shot the dishes with a shotgun and said "dishes are done, man!"
What a lot of people didn't know is this movie and Buffy the Vampire Slayer were filmed at the same time in the same area. In fact that hill where those guys go crazy on in this movie is also a scene right next to it on the Buffy movie. Both not only taken in Los Angeles but the same part of Los Angeles.
Great reaction! I'll be sticking with your channel! I'd love to see you react to Blast from the Past (1999). Brendan Fraser plays Adam, a man just coming out into the world after living in a fallout shelter for all 35 years of his life! Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek play his parents who raised him there. Alicia Silverstone plays Eve, Adam's first love! This is such a great movie, so sweet! It shows you just how much we've changed in 35 years! I promise you'll love it!
I laughed @ 48:56 when you said employee of the month, everyone else has been there for years. Same way I felt after 13 years with a company. People who had been there two years got employee of the month/year. I never did. I left. loved your review BTW. 👍👏
We were the last of the latch-key kids! The last of our generation to grow up with zero internet and no cellphones! Damn i miss those days!! And this movie is a cult classic!!!! ❤
Kids and uniforms, a kid got mugged for his designer clothes so school logic is "everyone dresses alike, i.e uniforms, no one gets beat up, kids are "safe"
2:50 The kid in the orange shirt is Chris Pettiet and had a scene in Point Break as a kid. After this he was in a popular cowboy TV show called The Young Riders. Unfortunately he overdosed at age 24.
I love this movie, I am probably the same age as you but watched it when younger.. not when originally released, but years later. My siblings loved it too, we had a VHS taped copy of it.. then I got it on DVD, and still watch it from time to time. I know it's a common formula in movies, but I love the whole thing of someone or group finding themselves in a bad or unfamiliar situation, but learn to adapt, eventually prosper and become better people by the end. Just a little clarification about the fashion show at the end.. "Where would teens wear that?" They wouldn't. They are just modelling all these new clothes, GAW doesn't just make school uniforms or teen clothes.. but industrial/occupational clothes and uniforms too. She is modelling a nurse uniform, albeit kinda funky design. The fact that all the models are teens is because they are Sue-Ellen's friends and helping her out, and to save costs on hiring real fashion models since she's short on petty cash. In fact, she could have pretended to pay them as real models to account for some of the missing cash.. just a fake invoice or something. As for why they even need a fashion show, for potential buyers who are watching in the audience.. taking notes. Rose says something about not telling corporate what's happening because they wouldn't approve it, so they need to run this event and see if they get enough interest to save the company/division. Then they'll let corporate know of course, otherwise they are going out of business anyway so worth a shot. I could go on and on about the movie, but one thing that didn't make sense... besides hiring a random stranger babysitter for 2 months at the last minute. That Kenny would get Nichole's number for a date, isn't he supposed to be Sue-Ellen's younger brother? If they were twins that could make more sense, but I don't think so. Why would 17-18 yo Nichole want to date a younger high school student Kenny?
I am surprised what she gets away with. And that receptionist is mean to her. But she has no idea at first how to do her job. I always wondered why they eat out when they have no money.
The older brother and his friends remind me of me and my friends in the 90’s except we were smarter and more politically active being protesters against Nazis and for Native and queer rights
This movie is allkinds of fun. I first watched it because of Christine.😍🥰😋 It showed me there was way more to her than bimbo Kelly Bundy. Favorite character Kenny. "Dishes are done man."🤣 Regarding Gus I said 🤮 before you did. Zach/Christopher Pettiet sadly died of an accidental drug overdose.
The uniforms in school being safer was because if everyone wears the same thing, they don't have to worry about jealousy of rich people wearing nice fashion while poor kids wear K-Mart clothes which back then looked obviously like you were poor. With uniforms, everyone is the same, or at least that's the reasoning. I went to school in the 70s and 80s and we never had uniforms, but we did have strict dress codes. No facial hair and if you showed up with stubble they would make you go to the nurses office and shave without shaving cream using a single blade Bic razor which was very uncomfortable and usually caused a lot of knicks. Girls couldn't wear skirts shorter than an inch above their knees. Also, boys couldn't have hair longer than an inch above the collar.
This is my first time on your channel and I love the reaction and review for TWD! I would like to suggest 2 episodes of Grey's Anatomy (season 2 ep 16 & 17) and see if you get hooked! Looking forward to watching more reaction shows from you!
By the way Kenny on here plays in Adventures in babysitting which is another movie you did. I don't like Rose's outfit at the end of the movie. It reminds me of a goose
Oh yes, like a fulltime job! You have to record yourself watching the movie and then edit them together. After you upload them you could get hit with warnings and it'll block your video because of copyright content. It's a battle every single time. Take a look at my community page and read how much hassle they put you through. But it's fun if it's what you really want to do. I had to stop for a while because my dad is very sick and I'm taking care of him.

I love this movie! Seen it a bunch of times. I am a teen of the 90s so Christina Applegates wardrobe was everything!!!
This still holds up as one of my FAVORITE movies in the 90's. I was 2 when this was released but my sisters introduced me to it ❤
Literally grew up watching this film on repeat 😭 so so good

Love this movie, brings back good memories for me. Thanks for reacting to it!
Yeah lots of memories came up when I watched it!!! It was fun! :)
"You have the car and you dont even take us out anymore"
Fun fact: Rose is played by the fabulous Joanna Cassidy. Who played in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

My gosh, this movie came out when I graduated high school! 😃lol Looking back, still a fun flick! Hard to believe, there's now a reboot! 🤦♀

Yaaaaay!!!! Someone is finally reacting to this ICONIC classic ❤❤❤❤❤ thank youuuuu
The smoking age is 16. That song you mentioned was Dragging the Line from the 1972 I believe.

This is probably one of my favorite childhood movies...I watched it a ton..
teenagers smoked in the 90s! Everyone smoked in those days and everywhere!! I miss the good ol days!!!
Love this movie, especially since I’ve had a crush on Danielle Harris since Halloween 4 came out and I saw it in the theaters when I was 4 years old
I remember bouncing on those things in Toys R Us along with riding all the bikes and electric child’s cars
The Song "Perfect World" its sung by the awesome Freddy Curci of Sheriff and Alias.

Gus "8 Ball" Brandon 🎱
Camp classic af!!
Great as usual
Truly a 90s underrated classic. Awesome to see this get a reaction video!
She said she was a free woman, but there's 5 kids...😮

Well, she IS right. TV DOES rot your brain. 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly . Sue Ellen is way so much smarter than Kelly Bundy

LOL I am!!
@32:03 Where have you put them ?
Sorry. That joke wrote itself.
Hi there
Howdy!!
Are you going to react to The Simpsons Movie?
Was released on July 27 2007
Yes, I can add that to my list! :)
