Though my favorite line in the whole movie is "how do you know that? You don't know anything."
funny story, one christmas mum and i were in line to laybuy some christmas presents for my nephew and there was a woman there with like a two year old and all of a sudden, he's going "car, car"
but the way it came out, sounded like kakaw, kakaw, and mum and i just looked at each other and started laughing because of Sean William Scott XD
"How are you going in?"

The three shot of them in close up at the end of the table is just precious. I think Julianne Moore is about a heartbeat away from losing it in almost every shot.
Fun Fact: Head & Shoulders did not sponsor the movie and did not pay a dime to be included in the movie. Also the actors and crew thought it would be funny create the commercial as a gag and it ended up being put at the end of the film.
Fun Fact 2: Evolution started as an idea to reboot the Ghostbusters franchise.
It does feel like a spiritual Ghostbuster Sequel.
I love how much they loved the Head & Shoulders commercial.
Evolution was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Every time it came on cable, I sat down to watch it.
Calvins look towards Eric and Rick always cracks me up. Its like "are they really doing this right now?"
If I ever make it in the film industry, this is the franchise I want to bring back the most. Good god, there's so much untapped potential.

They made an animated series which served as a sort of alternative timeline sequel to the film; in the same vein as Godzilla, Real Ghostbusters, Men in Black etc.
It was actually kinda fun from what I can remember
The late 90's and early 2000's were the golden age of tv shows based off underrated movies.
Characters on TV got to do what they couldn't on film:
Agents J and K hunted down aliens on the run, Dr Kane and co. killed them, Godzilla fought one monster per episode; in the US, or anywhere else on the planet. 😄😁
Seann singing "You are so beautiful to me" is amazing. That mall scene always gets me!

I love this movie. Saw it in the theater with a bunch of friends (while I was in college studying chemistry) and said the "Selenium?" reference before it was revealed as they were making periodic table comparisons and all my friends looked at me like 'how tf did you know that?' It was such a ridiculous movie and I love it. great reaction guys!

Orlando Jones is such a good actor. He's got great comedic timing in this but it wasn't until his role in American Gods that I realized just how good he is. Man needs to be in everything. Give him all the roles.
I haven't gone through the comments to see if anyone mentioned The Replacements? One of my fave comedy sports movies with Orlando Jones and Keanu Reeves :) I also love Necessary Roughness with Scott Bakula and Sinbad as his comedy sidekick :) If they haven't seen those movies they should!!

@@RangerErnsy Mine too :) Watch it whenever I see it as I look for movies on Hulu, Netflix etc. Used to watch it whenever it showed up on cable, which was pretty often!!

I like to think his removal from "American Gods"was one of the reasons the series was cancelled. "Not the right message for black Americans", my ass....
The best part of this movie, is the chaotic friendship of the main cast, it feels so natural.
This reminds of Galaxy Quest where it was marketed more towards kids, so a lot of people skipped it. Both of them probably would've been more popular at the time if they stuck with an R.

10:55 In the court room scene shortly after this they explain that Ira Kane was responsible for many soldiers getting horrible side effects from a vaccine he gave them for anthrax that soldiers called "Kane Madness". They do not mention that particular soldier, but it's reasonable to think he might have been affected and wanted revenge.
This film was originally envisioned as a spiritual successor to Ghostbusters, being directed by Ivan Reitman (RIP) and featuring Dan Aykroyd in the cast and all. They even gave this film a short-lived animated series.
Actually, the original idea was a straight-up sci-fi horror film, it wasn't until Ivan Reitman came aboard as the director that they changed this into a comedy.
As an electrical engineering student, I can confirm that all the chemistry and biology displayed in this movie is 100% accurate.
One of my favs from my childhood! happy it got chosen.
This is such an underrated comedy. So many quotable scenes. And it's fairly original.

i haven’t seen this movie in so long. I remember watching this movie in High School when it first came out. I’m pretty sure me and my friends watched it at a movie theater at a mall. I remember thinking “this is so stupid, it’s amazing.”

FINALLY!!!! Been waiting for someone to react to this one. Such a great movie. Was so in love with David Duchovny. There’s actually a song from he 90’s called David Duchovny, Why Won’t You Love Me by Bree Sharp. Believe it or not, it was a great song and got a lot of radio play.

That trial explains what that soldier was upset about. Ira Kane made a disease that made the soldier sick as well as several other soldiers. “Kane Madness”
It was a vaccine developed as part of Desert Storm. The side effects included delerium and diarrhoea, hence "Kane Madness"

Oh my god I adored this movie when I was younger. It's been years since I watched it, probably a decade but I still remember so much because it was so funny.
One of my favourite movies back when i was a teen... loved rewatching it so much back then
I always thought this felt like a test to see if audiences would like a third Ghostbusters at the time. It totally saw it as Ghostbusters with aliens at the time.
Orlando Jones has been in quite a bit of things. Great actor and always loved seeing him. Have no idea what 7 up commercials your talking about though.

This was a favourite VHS of mine when I was a teen. Love this film, it's so much fun. It's got such a unique tone to it, basically a live action cartoon.
I feel like "THERE'S ALWAYS TIME FOR LUBRICANT!" may be the best line from any movie, period.

I forgot how utterly hilarious this movie was, and it was SO great seeing your reactions to all of the ridiculousness.
I had to make two attempts to watch this film when it came out, as the first time we tried to see it, the projector broke down and had the film catch fire, right at the moment seen at 19:00 in this video. It took a few seconds before anyone in the theater realised that it wasn't actually part of the movie.
I forgot how funny this movie is! Yes, it's silly, and problematic in places, but there's no denying it's entertaining. Thanks for giving me a reason to watch it again!

Hello BW o/ Sarah Silvermans' character was part of a deleted scene from the beginning of the movie where it shows her leaving Ira. I only know this because I had the DVD at the time and vividly remember asking the same question you all had on why she was in the diner. There is also an alternate ending that was cut which is pretty great if you get the time to check it out.
10:53 That question is answered later in the courtroom scene when Ira was being questioned. It was because he suffered from the "Kane Madness."

Also still enjot the cgi, a lit of its still good, but my favorites are rhe Pug Alien and the Dragon Aliens, still absolutely love their form.

I’m scared of spiders but the genius of that film is that they made the spiders kinda cartoony.

I love this movie so much! It seems to be lost to history for the most part so I’m so glad you all reacted
And to think this was originally supposed to be Ghostbusters 3. So many elements of this movie make sense when you think of Ghostbusters: replace the aliens with ghosts, shotguns with proton packs, the fire truck with Ecto-1, Venkman’s backstory with the military, the ex-girlfriend Silverman (Sigourney Weaver) showing up in the diner, the logo popping out at the end… it’s so clearly a sequel to Ghostbusters, just reskinned as an alien movie.
Orlando Jones, who played dr. Harry Block in this movie, also plays the African God Anansi in the TV series "American Gods". And he owns one of the best scenes in the series, the monologue on the ship transporting slaves, and, in my opinion, one of the best scenes in the history of cinema, because the acting in this scene is something really incredible.
There is actually a cut ending with Orlando Jones. Let's just say he has a side effect from his little visitor.

There was a rumor that this was the secret 3rd Ghostbusters movie, because the third film was in developmental hell for so long, that Ivan Reitman decided to move on to making a movie similar in tone to Ghostbusters, hence Evolution was made.
Orlando Jones was also in the Time Machine, he was pretty good in that too.
I'm an unabashed fan of Ivan Reitman. He managed to strike a balance between horror and comedy. I own this movie on DVD. And I remember the trailer that had the "TAKE THE LEG" scene

I love this movie. Before I even new there was a movie I watched the sequal animated series on a channel, I doubt is around now, Kids Co. I loved the series and was amazed to find out there was an origin movie that made the whole show make sence.
This movie was filmed in my hometown!!!! The base they have at 31:32 is the playground at my elementary school! Which is right down the street from where I live!

Orlando Jones is my favourite original cast member of MadTV, mainly for a skit he did where he was the chief of a rich band of Indians that owned a bunch of casinos that bought all the sports teams with Indian names and renamed them all. So the Cleveland Indians became the Cleveland Klan, the Washington Redskins became the Washington Rednecks and a few others like that. It's too bad I can never find the clip online, I think it was from season 3 or so.
YES!!! I love this movie! Always a great pick to put on and enjoy. It was one of my favorite movie as a kid. And I have no idea how I was able to watch this.

(Best Double Feature Ever)
The ending was very reminiscent of the Ghostbusters commercial where they said "We're ready to believe you."

This has been my go-to movie for the past 15 years. I've watched it so damn much that I've pretty much memorized every line in the movie.
I think it was Orlando Jones that posted a tweet saying if they hit 100,000 likes they will make a sequel but that was years ago.

Maybe it's Dan Akroyd's presence, but this movie seems like a sci-fi Ghostbusters to me. Fun movie!

There's also a post credit type scene in this showing what happens a couple months later, almost like an epilogue. Was hilarious and you guys should check it out too
Watching this one again as there's not too many reactions of this hilarious gem out there and seeing Eric laugh at things just because he's accessed his mind-vault is great, because he knows there's a TOOKIE TOOKIE! coming etc... Bliss.
