Yes. Save your money. I bought all kinds of stuff listening to others. All I needed was my phone and a ring light kit. I bought mics, sound cards, a camcorder and whatever else these videos say. I like this video because it kept it simple. A mic, a phone, and decent lighting. That's it! Why didn't I find this video sooner?

Question of the Day ⚡ What do you think about this setup? Let us know! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 ****** Watch our How to Start a Podcast for Beginners HERE ➡️ ruclips.net/video/G31IP-9onLU/видео.html
Thank you for this. Very helpful!! I don't know how to edit video/audio. Are there services where you can send your footage and for them to clean it up, etc. Not at exuberant prices of course :)
I like the setup, nice and simple. But if the mic is plugged into the iPhones only charging port. How would I keep my phone charged or charging during longer (2-3 hr) podcast recordings? Thank you
I am new to this and in my early 40s. I always have these amazing talks with my friends and thought about starting a podcast. Thank you so much for the tips that you have posted. I hope to get mine out and airdrop soon.
I am thinking of starting a podcast, but at 77 years old and on social security the equipment would be a problem. Thank you for your podcast. because I can afford to get these things and get started.❤
I agree! You really don’t need a lot to start at all! If the content is good, the views will continue to flow in. The equipment are just peripherals and we gotta start somewhere 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
This 5min video just taught me so much!! I really appreciate it. I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently just as a way to communicate with others but was a little intimidated before.
is this setup for a solo podcast? what if you want to do a conversation piece with multiple mics, do you you need a mixer? if so which one do you recommend?
I’m 10 months late but I recommend the rode mixer super easy to use also you can record with your iPhone camera and put the audio together from the mixer
I watched this video 8 months ago, and started a podcast with a Samson 2QU mic, laptop and a free Streamyard account. Total investment was under £100. I now have a podcast on Spotify, Amazon, RUclips and Apple Podcasts with 22 episodes recorded and uploaded, an audience in 51 countries worldwide and a guest list that includes an Olympic gold medallist. My numbers aren't huge, but my audience is very engaged. I've tried to be super consistent with my uploads (2 per month) and the feedback has been incredibly positive so far. Starting a podcast was one of my best decisions ever, so if you're even thinking about it...stop thinking and do it. You'll have a load of fun, learn some new skills and meet some new people along the way. As the saying goes...'You just gotta hit record!' Get it done folks, you won't regret it!
As always, great hook/intro and appreciate the candor exuded. Hopefully this inspires many to get past those mental blockers to creating, and keep creating yourself my friend. Great job!
Im so glad I found this vidoe! Iv been wanting to start vlogging about my journey with advanced stage 4 kidney cancer but just was so overwhelmed with it all! Not just the electronics side of it but getting in front of a vidoe camera when ur whole self has been drastically changed by cancer... Atleast for me as a female it's alot. My dad told me a ridiculous amount of time that I should go live and share my journey, my life, how it is living when they say I'm dying and every thing iv gone threw since 2021...yeah I been living with this diagnosis since April of 2021....crazy I know. 32 months of chemo and immunotherapy plus losing my ability to walk in 2022... So I'll also be streaming from a power chair... I knew I needed to have myself in a better place mentally and emotionally before starting. I'll always be exhausted so I just have to do it. I just didn't know what all I needed to start. I kept telling my dad I will whwn I'm ready. He passed away last year ans I'm so angry I didn't start whwn he was here.. But it showed me I just have to do it and get it done. I'm about to move into my new apartment and after getting settled in my vlogging will start. Sooooo nervous tho!
Very brave of u to share your story I hope ur treatment is going well for you.. sorry to read about ur dad.. get going with ur vlogging u will inspire someone in need of inspiration who may be going through something similar.. I send u my best wishes and hope u have a great relationship with God and Jesus 😇
Yeah I agree with this a basic set up at the start is good and once you learn how to use it save up and get better equipment. I started off with a 30 euro USB mic and 40 euro webcam and used the editing software on my computer.
I think that a video podcast is the very media to get me started on doing my RUclips show. I didn’t know that VIDEO podcast was a thing...What’s the difference between a video podcast and let’s say a show on Streamyard or Zoom?? Are they considered podcasts or does it depend on the content??? Can you have guests on a podcast?? Thank you for this video.... it has blessed me to not be scared not to have what I need to get started....
The term "podcast" has definitely evolved over the years but as long as you hav your shows audio uploaded with a RSS feed somewhere it can technically be a podcast. But any media has potential to become a podcast.
Great, easy, concise video covering the basics. I already have more upscale equipment from working in the audio/video media formats. Plus a background in multimedia graphics design. I am ready to green light my podcast adventure. Thanks!
Having an audio command center is really nice and there are good kits out there like the Squarock M1 commander with 2 surprisingly great mics, desk mount booms, and the commander M1. Like a video deck /switcher, the M1 is an audio controller that has effects, sound effects and can easily bring in external zoom callers "through the board" by connection your phone or another laptops via audio out (headphone jack) if you were hosting a multicaller zoom call. Having a video switcher like the streamdeck gives you push button camera control to change scenes on the fly (pip, lower 3rd, graphics/b-roll, etc) at the push of a button. You can use the free streamdeck software instead of the deck (hardware) and do the same thing with a phone or tablet on the network. Upgraded versions of the above allow for isolated capture of all feeds as individual stream (A/V files) for more post production flexibility. If your going to do it and can swing $500-$600, may as well do it right. Your investment may even help you commit to your project.
This video help so much. I have all this equipment already but got discouraged in the setup because I couldn’t figure out how to save or even find the audio. Thank you so much
I want to start making video podcasts. I’d be using my iPhone to record the videos. Obviously that would take up quite a bit of space. What would be the best way to save the videos without killing my phones storage?? Sorry if I sound like an idiot. I’m a newbie here. Thanks.
Thank you! thank you!!! immensely for this video. Every video I have watched either suggested a Yeti or many other things that for a beginner are a bit discouraging specially if the podcasting is more of a starting point. This was straight to the point and informative and the sound is amazing.. I will Def be subscribing to the channel. Also best thing ever the mic is 30 bucks right now lol can't get any better!!

😊😊Thanks for this video and so many others that y'all put out. My hubby and I want to start a video podcast but the tech and gear part of it is driving me crazy! I purchased two USB Mics not realizing they could not connect to my Canon M50. I also purchased a Comica Linkflex that was recommended by Heather Torrez. I still don't have the correct cables/cords to connect everything. So then I thought I would use my iPhone 13 Pro Max to record the video and audio. Is there some way to connect both of the USB mics to my iPhone? Or maybe there is some way to connect the two USB mics I have to my Canon M50? Help please!!!!😩😩😩
I am not sure about two mics but you can connect 1 mic to your phone with a Saramonic Smartrig II XLR Microphone, you have to by an iphone headphone adapter but this will take care of atleast 1 phone
I can’t lie this was helpful but all things needed is on my phone 📱 like KineMaster and for audio voice over I have a mini mic 🎤 that plugs in my phone 👌❤️
I love how you shot this on a phone and it still looked REALLY good! Shows that you don't need the best cameras for getting started on RUclips!
