FINALLY we have an undisputable new world record!! For years I've considered Becca Swanson's 305kg to be the heaviest deadlift by a woman ever, but there were so many other records based on the sport, equipment etc... but this is perfect! No more debate about it, this is the heaviest deadlift by a woman ever! It was f***ing sublime! *Chefs kiss*😗👌
Also no hitching or any other quirky perk in the execution, counting out the straps it was a text book deadlift.

@@gorgon__soup usually they use the suit over the tshirt, I see no suit so I couldn't tell for sure. Either way, suit or not it was a perfectly executed deadlift.

She mentioned on an IG post that a suit was not used in the lift… phenomenal

Honestly, this may be one of the most impressive lifts ever done.
I would say the current world record for men's is 1185 lb I don't know why that's any less impressive just saying. Or Bob peoples in 1949 lifting 725 lb at 180 pounds of body weight with no wrist wraps for assistance. Not taking anything away from the woman she's an amazing lifter just saying hardly the most impressive, for women yes but overall no.
@@user-wx9uj2rl4d for sure, it's BECAUSE she's a woman that I said that. A 700 lb deadlift for a female is disgusting and I didn't ever really think I'd see it. Here we have a female lifting a weight that would earn any man in any gym at any weight major respect.
Congrats Lucy! This is a historical lift.
With refer to the weight: this is exactly 317.5 kg (699.97 lbs therefore 700) with 5 x red plates (25 kg each), 1 x blue plate (20 kg) and 1 x 1.25 kg 160mm x 11mm precision plate per side - all MIRAFIT CALIBRATED CAST IRON PLATES. With straps and I'm not sure whether she is wearing a suit or not, and in an isolated/ single event.
Hence this is the first time any female surpassed Becca Swanson's legendary 315 kg (694 lbs) (without lifting straps/ with a suit) performed on 2005-11-05 at WPC WPO European Semi Finals in Finland in a full meet (that is after a 365 kg Squat and a 240.5 kg Bench press as the third lift).
So both are world records at their own standards. Just like Hafthor's 501 and Benni's 460.

This is a truly historic lift-I remember when 500lbs was considered amazing for a woman- 700 is otherworldly-and the way she dominated it I think she could go after 800
500 lbs is amazing for a woman. These lifts are the equivalent of the men pulling 1100. The best of the best. Most drug-free female lifters who are dedicated and want to get as strong as possible can reasonably expect no more than a 330 lb deadlift. Maybe 400 lbs if she's particularly gifted. It's similar to natural male bench standards, coincidentally.
To do so she just need to increase her anadrol intake and she will get the 800 pounds 😂😂😂

Wow! God damn it, now I have to lift over 700 lbs too. I'm a guy who lifts and doesn't use gear, and my ambition on the deadlift is to be stronger than all women. They're not making it easy, are they?

To be honest I get beat by 70 kg women. Some lifters are just insane.
As more women are exposed to strength sports we see more and more that the top end strength for drug free women seems to be actually quite high, in the last five years the womens ipf 83/now 84 category has basically caught up to what used to very respectable/competitive lifts in the men's class, it's insane

Long femurs tend to help a lot in the deadlift. Ideal is long femurs, long arms, and short torso.
@@michaellopez2070Incorrect. Long femurs make it that much harder to keep your body upright, you will have to bend over more and is use a lot more back strength at the start of the lift. As strong as she is she would lift more than that if her femurs were shorter and/or she could keep her body more upright

She made it look EASY!!! Holy shit! Also, her height is mostly legs......this goes against so many things so many people say.
But her arms are very long which is ideal for the DL as it lowers the range of motion.
@@alec_m50long upper legs help a lot in the deadlift. I myself have short arms and long upper legs, and it’s always my strongest lift. If you look at Lamar Gant, Bob Peoples, etc. they have long legs, relatively short torsos, and long arms. It’s the same as Julius Maddox and Kirov being the best benchers despite not having short arms.

I wrote this on the men's deadlift 505kg attempt but I feel like this really applies here too, and even more so!
I saw Loz & Liz's video and I have to say, this video here doesn't showcase the REAL hype that the crowd is giving these guys.
In this video you can hear the crowd when they go for the lift but it sounds sort of "mundane", in Loz & Liz's video (obviously just a mic from a camera) you can hear the crowd literally ROARING and cheering like crazy!
I feel like Giants Live should have a similar mic or something to capture just how nuts the crowd goes and how awesome that is, it almost feels like you're there with everyone!
Hearing the difference of the crowd between this video and Loz & Liz's video for the 318kg lift REALLY demonstrates what I mean :)

Great Lift very impressive I love to see women coming this far, I did see an article comparing lift to Arnold Schwarzenegger lift saying it was nearly equal to his, I will say he was not a professional deadlifter he was a bodybuilder and on top of that he didn't use the assistance of wrist straps possible with the additional wrist and hand support he could have lifted more and if she did not use that assistance she would have certainly not achieved the weight that she did, not taking anything away from her amazing accomplishment I just wish people would stop comparing apples and oranges!
And a Real Woman on top of that, we can never be sure these days you know. Grats Lucy !
