No amount of words can describe my visceral reaction seeing Mario & Luigi make a come back. The fact that this games just looks BEAUTIFUL too, just makes it so much better. I love how they kept to the same artstyle in the hand drawn sections of the game! It’s so faithful!

It actually really irritates me how everyone gushes over his manga/anime but his *massive* contributions to the JRPG genre is horrendously overlooked. Chrono Trigger is a masterpiece still considered among the greatest games ever made, and Dragon Quest literally birthed the JRPG genre altogether. Now the real conundrum: Will we see a beautiful HD-2D Chrono Trigger remake? 😮

D&D was the first RPG, all video game RPGs exist only because of it. Yuji Horii (creator of Dragon Quest) was a fan of D&D and early PC WRPG’s like Ultima and Wizardry, which directly inspired his series.
It's great to see Luigi's Mansion 2 get the HD treatment. I'd love to see other 3DS titles get it as well, like Samus Returns, Ocarina and Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64 3D, NSMB 2, etc.

Hate me for it, but it's probably because it's just another entry in the "serious/artsy/pretentious platformer" genre--I bet the protagonist will be silent, the world is like this because of some apocalypse or something, and there'll be an unnecessary amount of deep, serious lore behind it that's largely irrelevant but that the niche fandom will memorize anyway. Looking good isn't special anymore, and especially in these types of games, having a somewhat unique artstyle that makes people go "ooh" and "ahh" is the standard.

This is by far my favorite Nintendo Switch direct so far, I’ve never seen so many games I’m excited in one direction; ESPECIALLY, The Legend of Zelda, Fairy Tail, Brothership, Jamboree, and Donkey Kong Returns HD.

When I saw the reveal, I thought, "is this what the Dead Cells developers are working on now?!" but it's not even by the same people. It just looks similar and seems to have similar gameplay. It's a very beautiful and artistic looking game though, which I always appreciate greatly.

Yeah, it COMPLETELY blew Mario & Luigi: Brothership and Metroid Prime 4 out of the water for me. Not only is it an HD remake of two amazing games, but the second one _never released outside of Japan until now._ For the longest time, Investigations 2 was Japanese-exclusive, but that ends this September. I'm _so_ hyped for this, you have no idea.

It actually really irritates me how everyone gushes over his manga/anime but his *massive* contributions to the JRPG genre is horrendously overlooked. Chrono Trigger is a masterpiece still considered among the greatest games ever made, and Dragon Quest literally birthed the JRPG genre altogether.
Now the real conundrum: Will we see a beautiful HD-2D Chrono Trigger remake? 😮

D&D was the first RPG, all video game RPGs exist only because of it. Yuji Horii (creator of Dragon Quest) was a fan of D&D and early PC WRPG’s like Ultima and Wizardry, which directly inspired his series.

Oh, it looks amazing (reminds me of both Ori and Hollow Knight). It's just that this direct has a lot of great content.
Hate me for it, but it's probably because it's just another entry in the "serious/artsy/pretentious platformer" genre--I bet the protagonist will be silent, the world is like this because of some apocalypse or something, and there'll be an unnecessary amount of deep, serious lore behind it that's largely irrelevant but that the niche fandom will memorize anyway. Looking good isn't special anymore, and especially in these types of games, having a somewhat unique artstyle that makes people go "ooh" and "ahh" is the standard.

This is by far my favorite Nintendo Switch direct so far, I’ve never seen so many games I’m excited in one direction; ESPECIALLY, The Legend of Zelda, Fairy Tail, Brothership, Jamboree, and Donkey Kong Returns HD.

When I saw the reveal, I thought, "is this what the Dead Cells developers are working on now?!" but it's not even by the same people.
It just looks similar and seems to have similar gameplay.
It's a very beautiful and artistic looking game though, which I always appreciate greatly.
I I know I'm stupid for this but at the very start when it showed a robotic top hat some deluded part of me thought it was gonna be more info on the new Layton games, but other than that the visual direction of Mio reminds me a lot of Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest, I'm excited to see more.

Not only is it an HD remake of two amazing games, but the second one _never released outside of Japan until now._ For the longest time, Investigations 2 was Japanese-exclusive, but that ends this September.
