Legit, why does it matter if Nintendo does a no-items tournament? Most Smash tournaments are no-items and accessible to watch.

Kinda disappointed how the ending of the tournament went,,, they barely showed the winner, no interview or anything. Boring, and kind of a let down that they didn't make a bigger deal over the champion
Yeah I was surprised by this. Mario Kart was the same way. No talking to the winner or trophy handing to them. Just them grabbing their controllers and walking off in silence.

Why do mainstream Pro Smash players not participate in these tournaments, like MKLeo, Sparg0, Tweek, or any of these, but we do have commentators like EE and Vikkikitty? Where was this tournament? Where are these announced? Im confused.

I LOVE this commentary team. I watch all these other guys during smash, but seeing Jordan talk about smash is great. I love the production value as well. The stuff smash should always have 👏🏽👏🏽.
I appreciate the support we get, but if we could get a live audience I think that would do wonders to the show. Would love to see more competitors and personalities. Love the game and want its esports scene to thrive.

This is not the first Smash tournament they’ve hosted.
It’s formally hosted by the corporation because it’s their IP, but that does not mean they are eager to engage with the community. If you are aware of its tarnished reputation from 2020 and the collapse of the Panda Cup, you will understand what I am talking about. I enjoy the game, but I despise the immature community and who they put on a pedestal.

I very much enjoyed the Replay sections explaining the pro-level strategies, I also thought the commentary was fun too! After seeing the Pokemon Championships, I feel Smash Bros can get there too. This was great and wildly fun to watch! Thank you for bringing Smash Ultimate back to the Nintendo Tournaments and official Channel!
Bro if you ever wanna see more competitive smash gameplay just look up some of the bigger smash tournaments that is not hosted by Nintendo. Some good examples are Supernova, and super smash con.

He was ok, I actually thought the Nintendo commentator was going to be obnoxious and ignorant. But he seemed like he knew a decent amount about the game and seemed to actually vibe with the other 2 professional smash commentators.

I personally love seeing Steve play but man was Rockman outclassed here. Ling was just a leagues better player. They knew the matchup and knew how to counter it, that combined with Rockman unwilling to switch up their strategy just meant they were constantly pushed down as Ling learned more and more about them. This was just a pure skill battle and the better player 100% won. Amazing work to Ling!

Don't know the details of this tournament, but since it's a Nintendo official tournament, the winner won a trophy and coffee mug probably.
Trophy, gaming chair, and a custom controller; on top of the Nintendo Gold Points they would've won in the qualifying tournaments to get here.

@@netweed09nah she is ok, and she is really only good if you are a character specialist. Ling been playing peach in tournaments for minute. Her combos are hard and frame tight so what you are seeing is just a really good peach because she definitely loses against Steve.

Can’t help but feel in the Rockman vs Ling fight that Rockman was an absolute coward. The moment he had pressure he just builds walls for 3 minutes. Poor show.

I would love to participate in something like this but I don't think I have a good enough skillset. But maybe for Mario kart
Wait for a new game to come out to get into completive. You can play previous games in the franchise to understand fundamentals, but wait until online is fresh or people are discovering new tech together so you don't have to unlearn a lot of previous knowledge. Focus on practicing that game and you can get really good, it's just practice. A lot of these people get paid to grind the game too so don't feel bad if you don't feel like your skills aren't up to par, some people don't have the time to grind as much. Get involved in social media groups that are into the game so you can keep up with new tech and discoveries.

I would rather watch an entire year of Smash where the only fighter you could pick was Isabell then watch a single game with Steve. No other fighting game has ever had a fighter who's main powerset is making the match less exciting then watching paint dry.

Ling and Armadillo are both top players. Armadillo frequently makes it really far into majors and Ling was litterally top 50 at one point. @@shengnyyj

Ikr, but ling and the lucario player are the only ones Ik that are top players. Ling was place higher in the rankings at the beginning of ultimate and I understand if you never heard of armadillo because he makes top 8s every now and then. @@DavionLane As someone who plays both Smash and Street Fighter, I have to disagree. SF6 is definitely better than Smash Ultimate, but not by a humongous margin, especially when it comes to DLC. Outfit 3 for every character from the base roster to the year 1 DLC costs over $100. That's more than the game itself.

@SaltyToad00 I'd say the smash community isn't nearly as toxic as a lot of MOBAs. It's a competitive game, people get invested. I can't think of anything in particular that's toxic about smash. We complain when we lose, complain about certain high tiers or styles of play, but that's just human nature. There's some bad actors, PDFs, sure, that's every community. Also, there's no voice chat online, the worst they can do is disconnect (which admittedly is irritating)
