So i’m in my 20s and was just hospitalized with a stroke. This game got all of us thru covid, and this update is about to drop right when i need something to help me on (hopefully) my road to recovery. something to sink hundreds more hours too and try to forget about my worries again. It’s going to be hard learning to use my arm and leg again and not being able to make music for a while or potentially again but i do look forward to getting lost in this game again and forgetting about all that for a while. love you all. hope everyone makes their islands even greater with all this new content. Thank you Nintendo, you’re life savers.
As a kid who only grew up with the original animal crossing on the gamecube, them bringing back the Gyroids (sorry if I spelt that wrong) made me so happy

This was seriously such a cool update! I can't think of anything else besides some of the fruit we had from New Leaf and Nook's Shop upgrades returning. So excited for all of this! :D

With an "Update" being just that, an update. However "DLC" does mean "Downloadable Content" and Updates are downloaded, and usually have content, so the term "DLC" can describe an update. But that might be wrong, and "Free DLC" could be used for some other reason that I am unaware of.

Props to the developpers, when I opened the video I expected only Brewster to be added and maybe one other thing but they really outdid themselves and all for an update that's completely free
Have given the game a lot of crap for feeling very bland and missing tons of content. After this, this gets me back into the game for a good while. Only disappointment is no clue if there's new NPC dialogue and no shop upgrades. Otherwise, this is what we need and can't wait for the 5th!
It's sad to see that New Horizons still doesn't have the villager mechanics in the game. Thats the one thing keeping it from being a good AC game in my eyes.
This is so overwhelming, every new section I was just gasping in delight. The new shops on Hart's island is genius, I started to cry when Kapp'n started singing, more fences!!, the new camera views, omg......

Speaking fairly, sometimes she just smells the flower or making some moves around the room. Technically she is nor working all day, but see her going somewhere is really immersive and cool
that storage shed is everything, having to run back to my house or having to throw random items on the floor for accessibility contributed to so much of my burn out
Honestly yes! And the atm having to make a fast buy at Mabel’s/ nooks right before they close was so annoying having to get bells from home/residence service
Until then you can always use the mario pipe decor you can buy at the machine in the town hall. I only just found out that if you place 2 down you can teleport between them and it's saved me so much hassle of constantly running from one side of my island to the other :)
don't know about you but I needed this game in quarantine, even when it was unfinished. it's what helped me stay happy even with declining mental health and what's going on in the world.
I think they might've done that on purpose to see what people wanted so they could make one mass update with all of it so people could be properly satisfied. As messed up as it is, it's kinda genius.
When Kapp’n appeared on screen a wave of nostalgia just hit me. It brings me back to when I first got my AC 3dsXL and would always go to Tortimer island with my brother while listening to Kapp’n sing.

I'm so glad this update is huge, I honestly ran out of things to do and this feels like a years worth of content to explore. If Nintendo is listening, my dream is to have a "shared island" mode where multiple players can live on the same island. It would be so much fun to decorate and change things, knowing the other players will see it. Or coming back and finding some surprises that they have done.

I was shocked by HOW MUCH things were changing. They actually listened to what we wanted, such as the Brewster and adding old characters back. Things we didn't even realised we needed, such as changing your house design. Time to get my switch out. :)
I honestly see why they took so long. They wanted people to take a break and dive back in full force, which is what I will happily do. There's just too many features for this to have been developed within a year... This stuff has to have been in development for a lot longer, or maybe I'm wrong. Def looks like so much love was out into this project though. This game is like ten times more beautiful than any other switch game imo 😍

I just gotta say "wow". I have been absent from new horizons for a while after a combination of feeling it lacking compared to New Leaf and just having so many other games to play. But damn am I ready to jump back in, this update is exciting and borderline overwhelming. EXACTLY what it needed.
I haven’t played this game in months, but I used to play it everyday with my school friends since the day it came out. We just did everything we could. I can’t believe I’m gonna have to call up my friend across the country in college and say “Dude. They updated it. BIG TIME.” Thanks for making Uni a lot better Nintendo :)
i'll admit, i've been off animal crossing for a couple months now. the game got a bit too repetitive and nothing interesting was ever really happening on my island. but i cannot wait to start playing again with this update. it's starting to feel like the older animal crossing games again :))

Still feels like content that should have been in the game from the start, but I’m happy they’re continuing to update the game substantially. It would be otherworldly if they took those QoL videos to heart and made the mechanics of the game less tedious and more streamlined. 😭🙌

Every new bit that was announced I kept GASPING in delight, there is just so much more to do now! I am so so so happy with the size of this update, thank you so much!
Fantastic! Here are a few things I was hoping to see but didn’t. 1. Bulk crafting. Like for fishing bait for example. 2. Being able to use crafting materials if they’re in storage, without having to take them out. 3. A villager radar or something that shows their positions on the map, in case you need to find one in a hurry. 4. Remote access to storage from anywhere 5. And maybe like a little boat of your own that’s a little faster than swimming, where you can fish or haul things out of the sea from.
Even the froggy chair ... people cant seriously say Nintendo never listens then🤔. They managed to add the most random thing that really had nothing to do with anything.. but the community constantly talked about it , & made memes of it lol. Of all the things they could have added...
I meant that it brought the fan base back. Especially I got bored of it for a bit; searching for rare fish and selling fruit daily got old quickly. Now, there’s way more stuff for everyone to do!!
They waited and waited then literally put every single feature that all players wanted in one single massive update. They resurrected the game and I think it is much better than ever. I hope the developers will get less and less stubborn with quality of life changes in the future, like crafting multiple fish bait at once or not having to read a whole novel when Gulliver is on your island.
yess, there is so much unnecessary dialogue in this game, I get it that the characters want to explain things to new players, but can't these explanations be a one time thing only??

@@Goremize I believe they are not improving that deliberately, there is no other explanation. In their minds it is meant to be that way, feedback from the fanbase or players doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately Nintendo is famous for ignoring the most valuable kind of feedback from players, the only reason they are this successful (and rich) is because their games are really original, never pay to win, creative and very well made (also not available on any other platform). I wouldn't buy a Switch if I could play Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing NH or Smash Bros. elsewhere. I can only hope they change this attitude because they make the greatest games in my opinion but their arrogance has cost them before.
I'm honestly so glad the Roost is coming back. It's a cherished memory between my little brother and I. I still remember us running to the Wii every Saturday to play City Folk and listen to K.K. Slider in the Roost. Maybe I'll invite him to listen to K.K. Condor with me again :)

To ME, a "Free DLC" is optional, separately downloaded, and free content. With an "Update" being just that, an update.
However "DLC" does mean "Downloadable Content" and Updates are downloaded, and usually have content, so the term "DLC" can describe an update. But that might be wrong, and "Free DLC" could be used for some other reason that I am unaware of.

Have given the game a lot of crap for feeling very bland and missing tons of content. After this, this gets me back into the game for a good while. Only disappointment is no clue if there's new NPC dialogue and no shop upgrades. Otherwise, this is what we need and can't wait for the 5th!

They definently added in new dialogue and also reduced the amount of times repeat dialogue can occur.
It's sad to see that New Horizons still doesn't have the villager mechanics in the game. Thats the one thing keeping it from being a good AC game in my eyes.
This update is very impressive! I just wish the cafe was a stand alone building because that would have been fun to design around on you island.
The cafe was in the museum in City Folk so it just makes sense

Until then you can always use the mario pipe decor you can buy at the machine in the town hall. I only just found out that if you place 2 down you can teleport between them and it's saved me so much hassle of constantly running from one side of my island to the other :)

I'm so glad this update is huge, I honestly ran out of things to do and this feels like a years worth of content to explore. If Nintendo is listening, my dream is to have a "shared island" mode where multiple players can live on the same island. It would be so much fun to decorate and change things, knowing the other players will see it. Or coming back and finding some surprises that they have done.

I was shocked by HOW MUCH things were changing. They actually listened to what we wanted, such as the Brewster and adding old characters back. Things we didn't even realised we needed, such as changing your house design. Time to get my switch out. :)

I honestly see why they took so long. They wanted people to take a break and dive back in full force, which is what I will happily do. There's just too many features for this to have been developed within a year... This stuff has to have been in development for a lot longer, or maybe I'm wrong. Def looks like so much love was out into this project though. This game is like ten times more beautiful than any other switch game imo 😍

Fantastic! Here are a few things I was hoping to see but didn’t.
1. Bulk crafting. Like for fishing bait for example.
2. Being able to use crafting materials if they’re in storage, without having to take them out.
3. A villager radar or something that shows their positions on the map, in case you need to find one in a hurry.
4. Remote access to storage from anywhere
5. And maybe like a little boat of your own that’s a little faster than swimming, where you can fish or haul things out of the sea from.
Hope they add pets!😊

They waited and waited then literally put every single feature that all players wanted in one single massive update. They resurrected the game and I think it is much better than ever. I hope the developers will get less and less stubborn with quality of life changes in the future, like crafting multiple fish bait at once or not having to read a whole novel when Gulliver is on your island.

@@Goremize I believe they are not improving that deliberately, there is no other explanation. In their minds it is meant to be that way, feedback from the fanbase or players doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately Nintendo is famous for ignoring the most valuable kind of feedback from players, the only reason they are this successful (and rich) is because their games are really original, never pay to win, creative and very well made (also not available on any other platform). I wouldn't buy a Switch if I could play Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing NH or Smash Bros. elsewhere. I can only hope they change this attitude because they make the greatest games in my opinion but their arrogance has cost them before.
