I have a hard time playing Animal Crossing for long term, but this will give me that first month rush again which I miss. I used to play every day for like 5 hours. Haven't felt a game experience like this in a long while

I’m probably going to be playing this more than the actual game.
That will be me, without questions! As I've grown older I got bored of the idyllic, laid-back style of the main game. I much prefer having goals to achieve now, so focusing on building new houses for the animals will be a lot of fun for me! Plus, the online competitive side of seeing who can make the best houses will be fun too. I love how Nintendo brought back this game as DLC!

I’ve been a fan of the game solely because of happy home designer. I started playing when I was about 5 or 6, it was the best game I played at the time. And now with my experience in making Animal Crossing homes, and a wide variety of new furniture, I can absolutely say this is the best update yet.
Ngl I was annoyed when I heard that Nintendo was making paid DLC for ACNH, but. . . This is actually amazing 💖😭💖 and for $25. . . Honestly not a terrible price for the amount of time I'll probably spend playing it!

The one thing that I don't usually like about Animal Crossing is the grinding for items, so I was very happy when I found out you get EVERYTHING.
I actually dislike this fact alone....
It is fun to grind for the items. If you have all from the get go, then it seems kinda boring
I agree i like unlocking things in games. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had all characters and levels unlocked from the start and i hate that. I want to unlock as i go.

Honestly, I wasn't sure I was going to get this DLC. I'm about as creative as a mentally deficient stone. But this may help hone those skills. And the fact that I can see other people's work so I can ripoff... eh... I mean, take inspiration from, is really encouraging.

As someone who regularly hit the top charts in North America in HHD, I hope this one has as much "social media" aspect to the online aspect to vote and have top rankings for designs! It always pushed me to keep making something new and seeing people like your island.
I’m glad they gave us the ability to design our own villagers’ homes, especially since I have some villagers who still have the basic furniture that came when we first arrived on the island.

The way of design reminds me Sims 4 with the choices and the walls added to create different pieces or change the dimensions of the house is really interesting love the concept! I definitely buy it when I could!

The update is giving us the game we paid for, and the DLC is just extra content. Seeing as it's only $25, it's really worth buying if you enjoyed Happy Home Designer for the 3DS (or if you finally get to try it out).
@@rele7486 seriously, all the stuff that should of been there from the start are free. The Paid DLC actually offer new content to the mainline series. This direct was fair and this is coming from someone that has to pay about $37 on dlc because I’m Austrailan.

When I was younger my mom got me that game and I was a bit pissed it wasn’t New Leaf then all negative feelings stopped when I accidentally got addicted to the game though I do wish this DLC was designing a town like the last game even though I’m happy you can still design Schools and Restaurants.

@@naiosms5816 only if you have the switch online Premium tier for $50 a year you can get the DLC for free. If you have the basic tier of nintendo switch online for $20 a year then you can’t access the DLC for free, you will have to buy it seperately for $25.
Honestly I'm really excited to be able to remodel the houses of villagers on YOUR island, the 5 first villagers all have premodeled houses (first two villagers are basic colours with barebone furniture and the 3 others you get by setting up plots are premade for the 3 personalities that will live in those houses)
i’m so excited for this i’ve been burnt out from playing for almost a year because my island is pretty much done and if i want to do anything to it i have to completely demolish my work first and i’m just bored with it. you basically just get an entire new island with even more buildings and things to build i’m excited to expand and make a new island

Expectations for the direct: Maybe a few new features and perhaps they'll talk about amiibo or Nook Link.
Reality: 30 new features, new villagers, hundreds of new furniture items and an entire overhaul of customization. Oh yeah, an entire area dedicated to new shops and services too and ALL the old NPCs from past games! Also, Happy Home Designer 2 for less than half the price of a full game.

This is 100% what I wanted. I was going to be upset if they went right to paid DLC but releasing this with that huge 2.0 update really helps justify spending money on this game.

I desperately want this type of building in the base game, as well as outdoor construction. An option to have the original style of game would be great, but I would adore this as an option and would play it way more. I love collecting and all that, but decorating and terraforming is painful

- Lot's of furniture from ACNL: WA missing along with amiibo villagers
- Lychees, durians, etc missing along with perfect fruit

I'm so happy they put happy home designer techniques and mechanics in here with more to do and it honestly makes it better that it's not a separate game that has no attachment to your own animals crossing game but an expansion with bonuses, thank you Nintendo for giving me a reason reason want to play ny game once more.
I bought this like a year ago and only now have finally opened my switch after a while and I'm addicted to Happy Home Paradise, I've spent like 15-20 hours already on ACNH, I have like 5 hours of content per day to go through, I spend so much time making sure the designs have good feng shui, ACNH with this expansion is definitely the most bank for your buck Nintendo game if you enjoy this type of game.
I'm really glad they added back those forgotten characters from the GameCube games, including some that never made it outside of Japan. I like that they renamed Pironkon Roswell; on his e-Reader card it says he's obsessed with UFOs. And the new characters look great too.

@@Pacmanfan-po9rn From what we've seen, Rio, Zoe, Faith, Ace, Chabwick (Nobuo), Roswell (Pironkon), Azalea (Petunia), Frett (Champagne), possibly more. The names in parentheses are their Japanese names because until now they were only in Doubutsu no Mori e+, never released outside Japan

You can also redesign the houses of your starter villagers (Assuming you still have them) with basic funiture.

Happy Home Paradise isn't anything new. There also was Happy Home Designer on the 3ds.
The director of Happy Home Designer is the director of New Horizons so she probably thought of it herself considering design games are her strength. It's the reason New Horizons is so focused on customization.
I love this! I loved it on Pocket Camp so to get an elevated version of it on NH is amazing!

I do not usually like paying for DLC because it always feels like a money hungry tactic.. but this is EXTREMELY genius.
You've basically included the an entire new game mode, that's based off of an Animal Crossing spin-off as an expansion and the price is very acceptable.
It's another game for half the price of original! That's amazing

I just gotten this DLC and I’m addicted to it. I’ve made 30 vacation homes and got a big party. I’ve helped these villagers so far in this dlc: Eloise, Apple, Pekoe, Tybalt, Frett, Lolly, Chrissy, Raymond, Marshal, Wade, Molly, Sydney, Kitt, Azalea, Merengue, Merry, Stella, Alice, Audie, Beau, Biskit, Astrid, Hamlet (Apple’s roommate), Genji, Marina, Julia, Pudge, Celia, and I can’t remember the rest
I love this DLC!! I heard about it before I got the game in April of this year. I got the DLC weeks after and when I tried it for the first time, I fell in love and I got Happy Home Designer for the 3DS. I love flying to the island to design homes.
I see Wardell as a big brother, Niko as the little brother and Lottie as a mama. Lottie is so sweet!
For $25 that is a lot of stuff, plus it allows us to remodel houses on your own island. It would be nice to do that and move things around outside without having to pay so many bells.
so just to make sure i understand: if you already have a nintendo online membership its just the 25 right? and without its 50?

kinda upset they haven’t mentioned any quality of life updates (ex shortening dialogue trees). this isn’t to say that i’m SUPER EXCITED. i’m just saying nintendo be nintendoing.
