Not really, this has been the only ACTUALLY NEW Mario Rpg game. The other ones were remakes of games that didn't need one.
I actually don’t mind, I love the other two and Mario & Luigi games so I really want more Mario RPGs.
Facts.
The most exciting part of all this is the return of ACTUAL BROS MOVES. Theyve been sorely missing since Superstar Saga
superstar saga wasnt the last? actually it was the first but even if you're talking about the remake there was still bowser's inside story's remake
@@repeppe No no no, you misunderstand. I'm talking about Bros. Moves, where the Bros use their own talents like jumping, hitting one another with hammers, using the hand powers etc (not using items like shells and cannons) to attack enemies, which has not been a thing since the very first game (not counting the remake).
Lol I think those are just a new spin on normal attacks, we see a Red Shell on that boss at the end.
Besides, they were always able to get more inventive with gadget-style moves anyway, so it's no wonder they wanna stick with that direction.

Paper Mario already came into the Switch, before TTYD though. And Origami King wasn't too shabby of a game

The art style for M&L series is so refreshing since we're so used to the regular Mario 3D models, glad to see the whimsy still preserved in 3D in a really good way.
i think this art style has been used before... yeah, i'm pretty sure during the giant boss fights of dream team, the 3d sprite of Luigi was pretty similar to this one.

I really like how Mario and Luigi have a purple and blue gradient on their hats
Must've bought them at Waluigi's Bridal Boutique.
Not to be that guy but, it's the same blue on both, it just looks purple on Mario because he wears red.
Mario's gradient is too strong imo. It's kinda distracting. Makes me think something it wrong with my screen.

@amisauriasalvaje7743I think Kevin did a decent-good job in wonder but didn’t do ok on the Mar10 day clip. I think he improved here and you just don’t seem happy just because Charles retired. No matter who comes after him it will never be 100 percent the same as him. It had to happen eventually and you complain the biggest out of everyone. We all miss Charles but you need accept he’s an ambassador.

TBH, I really love how the Mario series has been experimenting with different artstyles lately
Yeah, it's really fun to see all the different art styles they are taking Mario & Co through as of late and managing to make them all work in their own right too.
Reminds me of the style they'd adopt in the giant luigi battles in mario and luigi dream team. I always hoped they'd use this style for a whole game
The fact that we’ve gone three Direct’s in a row where we’ve gotten Mario rpg’s announced is actually so crazy. Love how the new artstyle adapts the artwork of the series into 3D, it looks SO GOOD
The 3d models looks straight out of the dream team giant fights and I am absolutely here for it. They did a phenomenal with the art direction from what we can see in the trailer

I didn’t really like it at first I was still almost crying but I kinda wanted it to stay pixelated although after watching this video like 100 times already it’s grown on me

the main gimmick of the mario & luigi games is to control 2 characters at the same time, a coop mode would make these games too easy and boring since you only have to play half of the time

Dude even though they switched from Pixel to 3D THEY ABSOLUTELY COOKED WITH THESE ANIMATIONS!! I Swear i really love the bounciness and expressive animations with really great vibrant color choices, fr picking up this game.

These graphics today must be like a dream come true for the folks who developed these classic series from the beginning. Seeing characters that you designed based on what features could be conveyed with the least pixels suddenly become fully realized and beautifully animated in quality on-par with a Pixar film… It must be very satisfying.

@@marcus5528you hit the nail with the hammer. The direction is exactly that. Most fans tends to be overly critical of Kevin's voice placement for the Mario Bros., not understanding the fact he's doing a voice match and being unique going forward at the same time.

I will admit i was not the biggest fan of his voice in Super Mario Bros Wonder (mostly due to me missing Charles Martinet as Mario and Luigi) and i hated his performance in the Mar10 video, but i think he nailed the voice in this game, i hope he continues like this in future games
@@christopherhollow4906 the way the Mario & Luigi series focuses more on the brothers and their bond really allows Kevin to do that, whereas Wonder was less focused on them, and it was pretty much just Kevin replacing Martinet's voice for the typical moves.
I absolutely love the use of squash and stretch in this trailer, its great to watch both as an animator and a Mario & Luigi fan

They stuck to 2D for the character sprites in Dream Team in order to get more cartoony movements, but I'd say this manages to do that in 3D

im so happy this series is finally having another entry
This is the happiest that I have been to have seen something from this series in nine years. Whoever is developing this game has the style of the series nailed down to perfection.
They seem to be going back to their roots with Brotherhood which I like, almost like theyre implying a fresh start to the series, maybe its a bit of a stretch, but thats what Im seeing

I was crying in tears of joy, the Mario and Luigi series means so much to me, Mario and Luigi Dream Team was the first game I’ve ever played and since then I have loved this series to death! THE BROS ARE BACK BABY!!!

@@firementia Nice!! Not even I have played the remakes! 😅 My first game in the series was Partners in Time and I got it and Mario Kart DS together when I got my DS. A few years later I found out that there was an earlier game in the series (I didn't know about the internet at that age yet) because I stumbled on my older cousin's copy of SS. She didn't want it and I still have it to this day!
Dang, and I replayed Dream Team on Hard Mode not too long ago (Like, 2 months ago) because I had a weird feeling of "I think they're cooking something..."
And also because Dream Team is a childhood favorite of mine.
And I noticed they're taking some pages from it too! Look at the some of the battle animations for the Bros, they are eerily similar to their animations from Dream Team. Or the big purple spiny enemy, that comes from the same game!

Tbh, Starlow shouldn't have come back after Inside Story. Her character only made sense for that game, being a Star Sprite.

After all these years, finally we have them all.
This is notable since it’s the first Mario and Luigi game on a single-screen console since the very first game on the Game Boy Advance. All the others had two-screen gameplay.
We are so back, baby! I hadn’t completely lost hope for the series. I knew from when I found out Nintendo bought the licensing back from Alphadream (RIP to them), something’s being planned, but I didn’t expect this!
It’s a whole new RPG that, from the looks of it, still captures the feel and play style we all know and love from the classic games…great job, Nintendo!

Kevin has already improved remarkably since Wonder, I'll say that! I've had faith in him from the start ❤
I keep forgetting it’s him every time I watch the trailer until I see somebody mention it in the comments. He does such an amazing job that it’s almost indistinguishable from Martinet’s Mario bros.
I agree, on my opinion he does a very good job with Luigi, but needs to improve a bit more with Mario.

@@Vwemmy Not really true. Shigeru Miyamoto has gone on record to say that he doesn't want unique NPCs in his games. That's why after Super Paper Mario all you got in the paper mario games aside from the main and supporting characters (The only games that even had unique NPC characters in the mario franchise) were basic multicolored toads. It's been a massive reason why they were all flops. (Weird game design choices notwithstanding.)

I think Afgani has improved his Mario though. I wasn't a fan of it in Wonder, but it sounds pretty good in this trailer.
And his Luigi is still almost perfect, just like in Wonder.

Since my childhood Mario And Luigi was always my absolute favorite RPG series. So seeing this trailer of a new game is making my childhood fully reuniting like a true Mario Bro.
