Zen Tip #10: Creating A Slideshow With Zooms and Pans in Sony Vegas

- In today's Sony Vegas Zen Tips #10, I show how to create a basic Slideshow using Sony Vegas Pro and some behind the scenes settings to help speed up the process. This is a pretty basic tutorial and most experienced users will probably already know everything that I show in this tutorial. If you have never made a slideshow before with added Zooms and Pans applied to your still images, you should definitely watch this video.

If you have series of pictures taken at a high frame per second (cars driving by, people walking, someone talking, something with a decent amount of movement), Slideshow can be used to create a nice effect which kinda looks like frames were removed in a video. Set the overlap to 0.0, no transitions and the time for each photo to 0.10 or near to that. Just fool around with it a bit to get the effect you want. Add some peppy music and bingo, bango you're done.

Thanks for the Quick tip! I picked up a couple things I didn't know. I would love to see one with a running video in the background. I did one, but I think I did it the hard way with Zooming and panning each image to get the position and size I wanted.

Hope ya see dis lol. is there a way to add empty space between every track? i wanted to just add just 2 alternating keyframes but copy paste event tributes didnt work. figure i just have 2 time lines for it :)
There was a wizard in a previous movie studio which I still use to create a template slideshow and finalise it in Vegas pro. It does a selection of zooms and pans. Saves loads of time.
Which one? WIndows Movie Maker used to have one and it made slides come alive with panning up, down, sideways etc>

If all your slides are already entered end to end on timeline before setting preferences, can you make them all automatically overlap without having to do each one individually?
No. You will have to delete that section and re-import your images.
Can you tell me what is the deference between sony vegas pro 13 and platinum 13 and which one is better ?
I did an in-depth comparison when versions 12 were out. The information is still OK, the only difference is a few new features.

Any Transitions you see in my videos that are not Vegas transitions, will be New Blue FX transitions.

Why on earth isn't the Slideshow Creator available in Vegas Pro? I just upgraded thinking everything would be better compared to Platinum. That program allows you to easily move pictures around to order them, and everything is automated.
The Slideshow Creator has never been part of Vegas Pro. It was considered something that only home users would use. Vegas Pro users would normally use their own methods. However, I believe MAGIX is considering added this to the next version of Vegas Pro.
@@MovieStudioZen Thanks Derek. Meanwhile would you be able to recommend maybe some kind of plug in? I just added a slideshow with over 20 photos, no way to preview the sequence, and had to change sequence a few times... surely experts using Pro have a more efficient way to do this?

Of cause you can. Just add music to an audio track.
too fast; not enough explanation of what you are clicking on and how you are navigating.
Definitely hard to see what he was clicking on and doing. I agree. Vegas Movie Animations are not intuitive and difficult.
