    After all of these years, your videos are still the best tutorials on RUclips. I was going NUTS trying to figure out how to do this. I forgot to turn the padlock off and switch that other option to NO. So that's why it wasn't working for me. THANK YOU YET AGAIN!

    I just want to say how genuinely thankful I am for this vid. I'm very new at video editing and I was able to manage the re-sizing, but I was pulling my hair out trying to move the split segments to different parts of the screen. You're such a lifesaver... THANK YOU.

    Mate, I'm not sure if you already have some products out, but you REALLY need to consider packaging all this and selling it as a guide for newbies like me who struggle trying to collate the info from all over the place. Especially right now there are no Platinum HD 11 DVDs out yes far as I know.
    Your explanations are clear, you have a good speaking voice, and I can follow your directions easily without having to make too many leaps. Good job bro!

    You can add "keyframes" to animate Event Pan/Crop and Track Motion windows. Keyframe timeline is at bottom of both these windows.

  • @MovieStudioZen
    @MovieStudioZen  11 лет назад

    Go to Media Generators tab and add a Solid Colour above ALL your video layers where you want the line to appear.
    Then go to Description Box for this new layer and press "Track Motion" icon.
    Then turn OFF all icons in top toolbar for TM window.
    Finally, drag corners of box in window to create a strip.

      ***** What exactly is the importance of turning "Source: Stretch to fill frame" off, as mentioned at 2:20? I'm having an issue with this causing black bars to show in my video when placing everything by typing numbers (typing in half my video width in Pan/Crop position to halve the size, then placing it on the side by typing half of that number in Track Motion position). When I leave this option set to Yes, I have no problem with black bars. I also don't see it affecting the video in any negative way since "Source: Maintain Aspect Ratio" is on.

    • @placeboing
      @placeboing 10 лет назад

      ***** OK, thanks. I assumed something like this would be the cause, but the strange thing is that my source video is in 16:10 (1680x1050), and I always start my project settings in that resolution. So I'm not sure why this is still happening. And the stretching On/Off seems to only be affecting the placement that Track Motion uses (On = I can type easy numbers, Off = I have to align visually) rather than actually stretching the split video. I will probably figure it out as I keep working with it though. Thanks again.

      +Movie Studio Zen What I am specifically trying to do is put three clips side by side, 640 640 640, does that make sense? Seems to be a lot of work to do this. Do you have any other videos that also talk about what I am trying to do?

    Masking is a Vegas Pro Tool only.
    It has never been part of the Movie Studio versions.
    You want to cut out a geometric shape, then you can use the Cookie Cutter tool in Movie Studio.
    If you want to cut out an irregular shape, then you will need Vegas Pro.
