Silent Hill The Short Message is Pretty Good

- It's definitely flawed, but despite a few missteps Silent HIll the Short Message is pretty good. Silent Hill fans have been starving for a WHILE at this point (particularly if you're a Team Silent purist) but I think this latest release in the Silent Hill renaissance hits more than it misses. So here are my thoughts having completed the game and there shouldn't be any major spoilers here save for a brief explanation of the game's premise and main mechanics.

Thanks for highlighting this great little game. For me, I've spent a decent amount of money on games I had a much worse time with than Short Message. In particular, the visuals reminded me a lot of P.T. with an emphasis on fairly realistic, "lived in" spaces. Good stuff.
No problem at all and agreed- Definitely spent way more than free and come away disappointed!
I also played it on my newly opened channel and I like the game as well. I think this should not be how silent Hill plays in the future but I thought the music and vibe really reminds me of what silent Hill is. The topics themselves are relatable nowadays and spreading awareness of mental health issues is always welcomed. For a neat little spinoff I can't complain. The gameplay though gets old very quickly but it's free and from newer devs so I can appreciate it. Thanks for the video dude ❤️ much love

Nice review! Normally I don't like escape mechanism as it's too stressful for me to play them (looking at you Outlast) but I've watched my friend play it and complete it and I think that it was well done! It's not perfect but what more can you ask for when it's free! I think that it's the perfect appetizer before we get the next game in the franchise! Great video and keep up the good work!
Appreciate it, dude! And it was WAY stressful until it became a little tedious the 3rd go around. I'd love to finish Outlast someday but I'm a big scaredy cat despite loving horror- ironic yes? :p And right?! Free is a great price for what this is and if it's at all telling about the future of Silent Hill I feel better about it than I did a few months back!

Not had a chance to play The Short Message yet cuz I’ve almost exclusively been playing (and genuinely loving) Suicide Squad. But from what little I’ve seen it looks surprisingly decent in places and not great in others. Big fan of the Cherry Blossom creature though, Masahiro Ito always kills it with creature design!

I really enjoyed this one. I feel so confused that the game had such a bad reception. At the price of “free” I felt this had some excellent production value.
Same here! Like I know it had some rough spots and the SH fanbase can be pretty particular but as a free experience? Hit the right notes for me!
