- I will restore this PSone console. It is an updated version of the original Playstation. It was released almost exactly 20 years ago. The console is very yellow and and dirty. And it won't read the discs. It gives no picture out which it should do when the there is an issue with reading the disc only.

You should see my Commodore 64. I kept it under plastic. I put a layer of plastic over the keyboard. My 64 is in pristine Condition as If It came off the factory. I had a lot of pride in that computer. I appreciated it so much when my parent got it for me for Christmas. I still tinker with it to this day ;)

Some people gets therapeutic joy and satisfaction out of their hobbies like painting, drawing, writing, poetry works, wood carving, restoration of old furnitures. This guy restores old gaming consoles and electronic equipments and obviously also has nostalgic love for 80’s and 90’s electronic gaming techs. You can see from his videos they’re all a labor of love with satisfaction of accomplishment in reversing the wears of time and mistreatments of previous owners.

I've fallen down the rabbit hole of watching this man restore consoles... and every time it's like watching a very old friend come back from the dead. Something really special about it. I have a lot of good memories playing PlayStation with friends.
Same here. I found this channel yesterday and watched a video, then another, and so on. I've never had any of these devices but luve to watch restoration. It is very satisfying to see how he gave them a new life.

I swear to god or any creator of this universe that this is one of the few of millions of vids outthere that should get stuck on any recommendations whatsoever.

Can I just tell you something different? I already found out that only the real Jesus Christ can and will remove/cure a person from autism. I just didn't tell this to my friend Drew Mason. It's hard to believe what sort of fantasy all Marvel and DC Comic book artists and authors have. It's also about certain video games that deal with the Marvel and DC Comic book heroes. There are even video arcade game machines that deal with Dick Tracy. Since I Google searched for the Dick Tracy vs. Batman cartoon deviantart. Most of the Marvel and DC Comic book hero artists and authors are men and not women. It's true, you know. It's the men who are dominant in this kind of business.

Just when you hear the opening and initial sounds of your PS1 turning on, you know, it was worth all the work.
Your channel is awesome, and I love that you cover a wide range of different things that you restore.
I really enjoy these console restorations in particular. They are so cool, and just watching you do what you do is educational.
By watching your videos I was able to confidently buy and clean up a replacement PS1 of the one I lost when I moved. It feels good to know that these older things are still in shape.

Love resurrecting things I’ve just fixed a Xbox one, that must have had a breeze block dropped on it the case was smashed the fan housing the blue ray was bent in half had to totally re build it, love every minute of this and watching it! Good job mate! 👍🏻
These videos are so freaking satisfying. I watch these all the time. I'd recommend watching Odd Tinkering videos instead of Awesome Restorations. His videos are fake and he destroys his things just to "fix it".

With this old tech, that generally fixes the issues lmao. I used to be able to fix all my stuff. Not anymore
It wasn't so much "broken" as the A/V port was clogged with dust, dirt, and who knows what, and the laser lens was covered with dust and oil. It was really just dirty. Cleaning + Retrobrite.

Disassembly at Sony counts as void warranty. I find it pretty gay too, but frankly, this is the only method to keep people from disassembling it
@@Snooopy28 Yeah, it's the same with a lot of old consoles. I just find it funny that they use a single sticker, which could easily get damaged at some point, to signify that the entire thing was disassembled.

They say that but it's not enforceable from what people have said about U.S. warranties. You're allowed to fix your own stuff or pay someone to fix it. I don't imagine the issue comes up much. If you're going in to do heavy mods you're probably not going to bother them if something goes wrong nor should you.

I think the 'glue' was just a REALLY old rubber-band that was used to keep the lid closed.
It was probably stored in semi-damp place for a long time, and the rubber fused to the plastic.
It looked very gross...

Never went. The CCP lander data shows moon radiation to be up to 1000 times that of earth. Capsule would need to be 10" thick to protect the space men. NASA agrees with these readings and even said they no longer have the tech to go to the moon. They also lost all of the telemetry and other data for the moon landings. Something fishy here. I have always believed that they went but there is too much data and info saying they did not. I am very sad about this...

I really enjoyed this videos but it’s actually so frustrating that people like you never exists in electronics workshops anymore..
The problem nowadays is: everything is only build to last exactly as long as the warranty lasts and to be trashed afterwards. Mass-produced smartphone trash is build to be replaced every single year (not even the battery can be replaced anymore). In an era where everything that is build is trash functioning for a few months or as long as the warranty lasts there is no need for repairs anymore, just to buy another unit of absolutely poorly designed mass-produced trash with cleverly engineered hidden predetermined breaking-points build in everywhere.
And that is exactly the reason why I am not going to buy a laptop, or a newer phone with not exchangeable battery.
Because people not willing to pay good price for services like this
@@juliashenandoah3965 The xbox 360 i got in 2006 has a compelling case against your point. It still works today. In fact, all my devices work well, and i've never had to replace anything besides the controller for my consoles. That said, there were many xbox 360s that had rrod, but that wasn't a result of "hidden predetermines breaking points" going haywire after the warranty expired.
@@infinitedeath1384 I would argue that early xbox 360s were not designed to break like things in 2020 are. I have a white xbox 360 and mine still works. One of my friends had 2 black ones break before getting the xbox one
Edit: my point is I agree with you. in my opinion things are not built as well as they used to be, but if you care for your devices well, they last a very very long time.
@@oygevaltanuddashoah4644 huh. Well i happen to have a black xbox 360 too, and it works fine. I've never actually had a console break on me. I have a ps4 pro and xbox one x, and have had no problems. I've also had many handheld consoles, and they never broke on me either.
