I have old Kitchen Aid Washer. it rinsed but did drain nor spin. Symptoms are exactly like you show in your video, so I followed your instructions and bingo, it worked like a miracle, took 10 minutes and a a zip tie. Thank you so much for saving me at least $200 services. What a saver, helpful man you are.

What a Godsend. Took maybe 5 minutes. I had a tub full of water and heavy towels that wouldn't spin. Saved me at least $100 or the cost of a new washer.
    Bless your heart!

You are awesome!!!! I am so glad, that I am jumping and shouting with joy. My husband was helping me doing the laundry this afternoon when he told me the machine was not draining. I watched other videos in you tube looking for the possible problems and their solutions, but I found them difficult because I have no tools or the strength needed to tilt the machine and do all the job; I am a 63 years old lady. My husband is disabled. I just followed your instructions, and voilà!! My machine is working again. Thanks. You saved me from buying a new machine and investing money that I do not have. Again, a million thanks.

Thank you!!!!! This worked!! I was after my husband to fix ours and showed him this video. When he saw it took a few minutes he finally fixed it!!
I was researching new washers and read horrible reviews of the high efficiency washers and how people hate them! I want to hang on to my whirlpool washer from 2001 as long as possible because they were made to last and let you choose your water level.
This saved us so much money! ThAnks again!

I want to thank you so VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! Two days ago my wife came to me and said the washer of 18 years had quit working during spin cycle. Well I said to myself the old washer was ready for washer/dryer heaven. We went out to several places to compare prices including looking on line. This week I was able to buy a new washer and dryer, no sense in getting a new washer without the other. That would have been over $1200.00 and it's at sale price. Thought there has got to be a way out of this and that's when I came across your video. For the cost of $1.95 for a bag of zip ties from Home Depot and two minutes work, felt like I won the lotto. Really appreciate you doing this video.

You are Brilliant! I looked at various DIY methods involving jumping wires, bypassing the switch, etc. My wife was not having any of that for it did not seem safe. My model had a bracket that prevented me from tying underneath and around so I tied it from side to side, being careful not to obstruct any of the screw holes, etc.. So far, it has worked perfectly! At a minimum it should hold until the inexpensive new part arrives, meanwhile, we can still do laundry! Thanks much!

I troubleshot this problem for hours. I gave up and have been going to the laundromat for weeks. Was planning to buy a replacement washer but decided to research one more time when I found this. I didn't think it was a lid switch problem, but after taking 5 minutes to zip tie the switch, the washer works Perfectly! Thanks, Bro!

When it sat there, with a tub full of water...I threw my hands up. I thought my new one had just broken also! I am 70 years old. After I come home from water aerobics, I always put my swimsuit in the washer and spin it to get the majority of the water off, rather than put it in the drier. Thank you. 68 year old woman here. To be honest, I am generally leery of repairs that claim to only require a few hairpins and a wad of bubblegum, but as the issue was just a matter of bringing the switch casing back into alignment, it turned out to be, as you promised, a 5-minute fix. My Kenmore Series 80 washing machine is back in service, and now I have time to order a proper new switch to replace the failed one, without having to live with a machine that would have needed bailing out.

It was the cheap plastic lever itself that had broken but your video gave me the info of where to start looking. Glued it back on and sealed it. THANKS SO MUCH! As a retired senior Lady, I found this very easy and it worked! Icouldn't afford a service call, so tried RUclips. Awesome. I'm much less afraid to handle my own service calls with advice from experts like you. Again, thanks!

Thanks you saved me, I was using a friends summer place and the washer stopped working. So no way to wait for a part to come in and hated telling him his washer was broke and I couldn’t wash sheets and towels before leaving. This worked perfectly and I could do it with what was in his small tool area. You saved me.... 😍

Yep! Another washer fixed. I had to push the lever further down manually when It did not spin the first time. Next day found this video. Very helpful. Thank you for posting.

I can’t believe this worked. You deserve a Nobel for this.
I had to remove a little metal switch guard thingy, but the whole operation took less than five minutes. Hopefully it’s good for another fourteen years.

Thanks a million, you really made the family proud of Dad. It was gonna be 2 or 3 day before a repairman could come out.

Nailed it. That was my problem exactly. I was about to purchase a timer and accidentally stumbled on this video. I'll be donating to this guy. He's awesome. I may buy a lid switch one day, but the zip tie did the trick.

You deserve a medal for this - I sort of knew it was my switch (because it's broken before) but this zip tie solution worked and was so easy!!

OMG! Awesome instructional video. The issue of the washer not draining or spinning was exactly what happened to my whirlpool washer. The washer agitated but after that, it did not drain or spin. The washer remained full of water and I was hoping that I didn't have to drain it and this video was the solution to my problem. The quick and easy fix solution using the zip tie to secure the lid switch without having to purchase a new one (at least right now) was brilliant! Thanks for the video!!!
