I hope that simple fix I did will fix my GE washer. I don't want to go in to the brains of the washer. We'll see if the first simple fix fixed it!
After bypassing the switch still didn't work, it sounded like a forced motor somewhere so then I noticed the water pump making that humming sound, the washer had water in so I couldn't just remove the pump off so I just squeezed the hose repeatedly and heard little pieces of material moving inside and then it started to pump the water out. Tomorrow I will take the pump apart to clean it out and it should fix the problem. Hope it helps someone.

Where did you order the part
It worked perfectly, thank you for this hack!! I am now a new subscriber to your channel!!
That’s great to hear! I just launched T-shirts this week! You should check them out below any video! If you decide to replace the switch, I have a video for that process too!
@@TightWadDIY I'll check out the merch and other vids on your channel, thank you :-)
This is very dangerous. People and pets can and do get hurt. DO NOT DEFEAT a Lid lock. But a new Lid lock and replace it.
PEOPLE I see pets and children get hurt or die frequently. This is avoidable. DO NOT defeat lid locks. Lid locks serve a very good purpose.
Thanks so much! The bypass worked great. Now ordering the new lid switch.
That’s great! I’m glad to hear you plan to compete the repair. I have a video showing that process too.
What is the part name or number? The video worked perfectly :)
Benjamin Juarez ruclips.net/video/2_bEl0n-X60/видео.html That video shows the repair process and has links to the part you need.
Thank you! What a blessing! Easy to understand and it worked perfectly!
I’m glad it worked for you too!
I cut and spliced the two outside wires and connected together. Taped it real good and haven't had an issue in a year.
That’s great! I’m glad it worked for you too.
Great video...When I was a kid I remember the washer would keep washing when you opened the lid....if you don't have kids why not just work it with the bypass? Is anyone sticking their arms in a washer??
That’s the choice you can make.
This worked! Informative and clearly explained.
Great! I’m glad you found it helpful! Be sure to hit that thumbs up and subscribe.
I only watched the first minute then went and took off the prong that goes into the slot and I thought that was all to it - then I came back and watched the rest of the video here.. I hope that simple fix I did will fix my GE washer. I don't want to go in to the brains of the washer. We'll see if the first simple fix fixed it!
Hopefully it works!
My lid lock cables are red, white and blue. Does this still apply as long as my (red) is my hot cable
It should be the same. I can’t guarantee it but just try it and see.
Brilliant, thank you, worked like a charm
You're welcome!
Thank you! Didn't have any wire so I used a paperclip instead.
Wonderful video, very informative, thank you for posting.

My pleasure!
Thank you very much for video. Very helpful!! 🙂🙏🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic. Thank you brother.
My pleasure
Thank you! Great video! That did the trick.
PEDRO MONSIVAIS Thanks for sharing your issue and solution.
Great idea !!! Helped me super + Thanks a lot !!!
My pleasure!
Thanks so much,it definitely fixed my problem.
That’s great! I’m glad you found the video!
What gauge wire did you use for the bypass?
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Thank you for the tip. I cant wait to try it . My washer is full of cloths. Thank you:)
Hopefully this works for you too! If it’s not the lid switch, it could be the pump but that is less common.
Ok so have a Centennial and the wire order is slightly different yours is Gray, Green, White. (Green being ground) so it looks like I just need to connect Gray to White.
I think that makes sense.
The two outer wire can they cut and connect directly to each other thanks?
I’m not sure. Sorry.
