Note that whenever you're importing your mask image into VTFedit, you'll want to use the BRG888 / ABRG8888 compression formats instead of the default DXT1 / DXT5 formats. The default settings leave compression artifacts which can seriously mess up the lenticular/animated effect, and since the (A)BRG888(8) formats losslessly compress the images you import, it avoids this issue.

could we get a deeper look into the distortion for the animated textures I successfully got my sticker working and the image moves but how would we achieve a smoother movement for it when moving left to right? Right now at the edges it warps heavily. Is there a way to make it flow smoother?
Question, how do I change the spectrum color? I mean If I make the image where do I have to locate or what do i have to set to get it like in your video?
I recommend watching the first couple videos in this playlist by Hollandje (ruclips.net/p/PLxC3Bho_6Q9RZq7Y_Ts-35zfqZH1b7KO1) if you're new to making csgo content in general, and then specifically for holo/stickers I recommend the first few videos in this playlist by Viper (ruclips.net/p/PLzsdBCbed-wQQTDaqkfRX_mrTaMvIUUpk). It's a decent bit, ~1 hour watch but it'll give you a pretty thorough understanding of how to replace any weapon skin/sticker with your own custom stuff if you want, well worth it imo
Do you know how I can create an exact gradient map of the spectrum so I can select exact areas of the spectrum I want to show. If I do a black to white gradient it contains too much of each colour at the top and bottom. What gradient do I use to be able to select exact pixels/areas.
If you want to show just the bottom half of the spectrum image, for example, you would do a gray (127) to white (255) gradient for the blue channel, since a blue value of 0 corresponds to the top of the spectrum image and 255 to the bottom, and you can adjust these values to select whatever part of the spectrum image you want.
Good tutorial but I'm still rather stumped. I can't get my lenticular design to scroll horizontally without warping horribly. im sure im doing something wrong, just cant put my finger on it

you can use the gradient tool in each colour channel separately to get whatever effect you're after

@@biot1c And if I wanted the spectrum to be taller than 256? How would I scale that gradient? Or is it not possible/ it would scale weirdly.
