i had a shift problem on my W221 S500 2006 , i replaced the 8 solenoids, recond ones, put them in at random, they only go in one way, (its a valve ) and it fixed my problem with the car, $185,- dollars for 8 on the net, and it worked perfect, good luck ,cheers

I will turn the key, the dash lights turn on however, the car sometimes won't crank or would attempt to crank then nothing. Please does this as well apply to a GL450 2008. Mine stuck in gear 1 when vehicle is well warmed up, and jerks forcefully with a hard noise when engaging the gear to drive or reverse. When scanned comes with a code 1405.
Thanks for this. My e430 only does this when I full throttle. Throws check engine light and gets stuck in 2nd. Turn car off restart all is fine again. Until full throttle. So I drive it lightly. No problems. The code is p0715
I have had a 2000 e430 and a 2001 e320 do this. One did not require programming but the other one did. It cost an additional $150 to get it programmed by my Mercedes technician. The E430 just worked when I put it back together
And it is the same transmission in both cars. I’ve had 7 of these with the same transmission. This service is required eventually on all of them At some point but only two of mine needed it on my watch
Hi have a 2012 c300 4matic sport. With the failing valeo radiator. Causing coolant to get into my transmission. They told me i have to replace radiator ok cool. But it may take 1 to 4 transmission flush to fix the slipping. Called another independent benz shop and explained the issue and that they DON'T recommend doing the transmission flush that in their experience it make ls the issue worse. Im not sure who to listen to. Do the service or not? How to fix the slipping of the transmission? Any advice you can give me would be great. Im short on money right now and will be doing the radiator myself. But trans service i dont have the equipment to do it. Thank you.

My mercedes E280 (W211, engine OM642, Transmission 722.9.02) can run OK for 15-20 minutes, then the gear failed to shift and stays on gear 1 or 2, engine RPM is up to 3000-3500 with speed 60km/hour. Have a Vito 638 ambience auto showing a problem with ‘gearbox throttle valve’ on diagnostic test at Mercedes dealer. They want £800 to fix. Any ideas what could be wrong? The car is in limp mode. Could it be conductor plate / solenoids or something more specific? Cheers fellas
98 e320 replaced conductor plate twice, speed sensor twice, fluid and filter. Still reading P0715. Won’t shift out of 1 sometimes 2. 122k miles exactly.
i figured my issue out. if you're 100% sure you replaced all the right parts, you need to reset TRANSMISSION codes. NOT the ENGINE codes. disconnecting battery does not work, need to connect thru TCM.
I've been reading that after you install a new conductor plate you need to reset the codes or else it won't work what scanner are you guys using to reprogram the TCU (Transmission Control Unit).
I replaced the conductor with a Chinese made one on Ebay. Still had the limp mode. Then I bought a used shift selector. Transmission was good for 3 months then limp mode again. I bought the second used unit and it has been working well. Just cross my finger. Mercedessource told us to reset, but LUCKILY it does not need. I guess the stealership will ask for 1000 usd to do so...at least

Hey guys if your transmission is not shifting. here's a few possibilities conductor plate. gear shifter. or solenoids. No transmission fluid. In my case it was the gear shifter I replace the conductor plate and nothing changed. first symptoms transmission not shifting second symptoms. gear shifter lock . and no park indicator.
@@klodiankurti3679 I am not a mechanic. in my case my gear shifter broke in 3 different stages. Stage one it wouldn't shift. stage 2 loss indicator on the Cluster couldn't see what gear I was in. The third stage. the gear shift locked. so I think your gear shifter is on its way out. God bless
That's good to know mine is doing the same except not stuck in park it like goes into neutral if your like driving fast and stopping quick and then check engine light comes on especially if you cold start it n nearly let it heat up like just turn on n leave it's really sluggish on gears way better when warmed up on a05 my350 130 miles good reliable SUV

@intheamerika8985 yes I resolved the problem. I replace the gear shifter if you're not sure what I mean it's the actual gear shifter where you shift from Park neutral Drive reverse the one in the center console I guess the one I had got wet and it malfunctioned

@@brettcurtis5047 I have seen the shift selector, fancy name MB gave a gear shifter. They can get dirty and get weird. If you don't need to manually shift it for performance purpose, I might check the connections in the shifter, and if not the issue, leave it be. The conductor plate is common in these, but if it shifts as it should during normal driving, that isn't the problem. I see shifter assemblies on eBay for around $100. Not hard to replace. Not sure if this helps. Bottom line, almost positive it's in the shifter assembly. Pretty common I'm pretty sure. Let me know what happens.

I looked and didnt get an answer, it was my wifes car so i took it in for repair, if it were mine i would have opened it myself. So the mechanic said might also be oil pump too cause now It has whining noise also. So i went to junker to get a valve body but i didnt know how to take it out, didnt look at all the videos, and i messed it up but i bought all four solenoids, it is out of a e320 2004 mercedes, if u want them I'll take what i paid $20 u can come get them or ship. P.S. DONT RUN IT WHILE IT DOESNT SHIFT CAUSE U WILL BURN THE OIL PUMP UP. I think the dealer ran it while testing it in 1st gear now that is also messed up, so took it to a local mercedes guy, i think if u change the valve body with another then u need to reprogram, but if u just fix it then no problem, but mine is 2007 e350, anyway it's the wife car so cant open it up.....lol i drive a toyota! Its about 5000.00 estimate to fix we'll see.....let u know what happens

I successfully followed your instructions, change the conductor plate and reprogrammed the car with the star-mercedes. The car works fine now, but it suddenly start to jerk when returning back to gear 1 and sometimes when selecting gear. What could be the problem ?
My dad wholesales Mercedes transmissions to like 300 shops around Los Angeles. I hate seeing videos like this or forums where people say this. People always think you could just change the conductor plate of valve body. There's no way for you to know if there's something wrong in the transmission until you take it apart. Most of the time it's NOT the conductor plate. People change the plate and still have the problem. A lot of time it'll give a speed sensor code and people think you can just change the plate. So wrong. You have to rebuild the trans and put a new valve body and plate from the dealer to fix it right. Otherwise you'll be going back n forth to the mechanic and end up spending more than you would have if you just fixed it right the first time
@@sicilian2k could be trans or the valve body or even something else. A code doesn't give the answer all the time or tell you whats wrong. That's why we change everything when we do our jobs because we have to warranty it and if we change one thing at a time then we'll usually spend more time and money and have more problems.
If the trans is messed up inside where the speed sensor reads, then it'll give a code for speed sensor and people think the sensor is bad but it could be that the part inside the trans that the sensor reads is bad. It reads a magnet to count the rotations and if the magnet is broken or fried then the sensor won't read it right and set a code oft. Replacing the sensor won't fix the bad part in the trans that it's reading. There's so many things that go wrong. Sometimes the torque converter or pump break. And there's countless things in the trans that can break or go bad or someone worked on it before and didn't know what they were doing and put the trans back together incorrectly

First thing I would test is the TCM. I went through all this he does and still did not fix problem. I replaced mine and all is well now.

I've been reading that after you install a new conductor plate you need to reset the codes or else it won't work what scanner are you guys using to reprogram the TCU (Transmission Control Unit).
I've done this successfully without doing a reset. The conductor plate is plug and drive.
I replaced the conductor with a Chinese made one on Ebay. Still had the limp mode. Then I bought a used shift selector. Transmission was good for 3 months then limp mode again.
I bought the second used unit and it has been working well. Just cross my finger.
Mercedessource told us to reset, but LUCKILY it does not need.
I guess the stealership will ask for 1000 usd to do so...at least

Hey guys if your transmission is not shifting. here's a few possibilities conductor plate. gear shifter. or solenoids. No transmission fluid. In my case it was the gear shifter I replace the conductor plate and nothing changed. first symptoms transmission not shifting second symptoms. gear shifter lock . and no park indicator.

@@klodiankurti3679 I am not a mechanic. in my case my gear shifter broke in 3 different stages. Stage one it wouldn't shift. stage 2 loss indicator on the Cluster couldn't see what gear I was in. The third stage. the gear shift locked. so I think your gear shifter is on its way out. God bless
That's good to know mine is doing the same except not stuck in park it like goes into neutral if your like driving fast and stopping quick and then check engine light comes on especially if you cold start it n nearly let it heat up like just turn on n leave it's really sluggish on gears way better when warmed up on a05 my350 130 miles good reliable SUV

@intheamerika8985 yes I resolved the problem. I replace the gear shifter if you're not sure what I mean it's the actual gear shifter where you shift from Park neutral Drive reverse the one in the center console I guess the one I had got wet and it malfunctioned

I have a 1999 E 320 that will go into park reverse neutral and drive but not into the lower gears it just won't even move the the shifter handal. Any thoughts or comments question . Would be greatly appreciated
Your "shift selector" maybe got wet from coffee etc. If you still have the problem, let me know.

@@brettcurtis5047 I have seen the shift selector, fancy name MB gave a gear shifter. They can get dirty and get weird. If you don't need to manually shift it for performance purpose, I might check the connections in the shifter, and if not the issue, leave it be. The conductor plate is common in these, but if it shifts as it should during normal driving, that isn't the problem. I see shifter assemblies on eBay for around $100. Not hard to replace. Not sure if this helps. Bottom line, almost positive it's in the shifter assembly. Pretty common I'm pretty sure. Let me know what happens.

Hey I have been heaving troubles with my car so it doesn't not shift into the next gear sometimes and sometimes it gets stuck on I think 3rd or 4th can't really tell and won't work again untill I turn off the car then back on could you tell me what problem that could be

so what is the next step if after changing the conductor plate and the 6 solenoids all brand new and yet the car does not go out of limp mode and stays only in the 2nd gear???

I looked and didnt get an answer, it was my wifes car so i took it in for repair, if it were mine i would have opened it myself. So the mechanic said might also be oil pump too cause now It has whining noise also. So i went to junker to get a valve body but i didnt know how to take it out, didnt look at all the videos, and i messed it up but i bought all four solenoids, it is out of a e320 2004 mercedes, if u want them I'll take what i paid $20 u can come get them or ship. P.S. DONT RUN IT WHILE IT DOESNT SHIFT CAUSE U WILL BURN THE OIL PUMP UP. I think the dealer ran it while testing it in 1st gear now that is also messed up, so took it to a local mercedes guy, i think if u change the valve body with another then u need to reprogram, but if u just fix it then no problem, but mine is 2007 e350, anyway it's the wife car so cant open it up.....lol i drive a toyota! Its about 5000.00 estimate to fix we'll see.....let u know what happens

hi, when i went to mechanic and he tried to scan the transmission by computer to check if there is any fault, he couldn't access the transmission ECU and couldn't see if there is faults or isn't, what is the problem with it?
I successfully followed your instructions, change the conductor plate and reprogrammed the car with the star-mercedes. The car works fine now, but it suddenly start to jerk when returning back to gear 1 and sometimes when selecting gear. What could be the problem ?

My dad wholesales Mercedes transmissions to like 300 shops around Los Angeles. I hate seeing videos like this or forums where people say this. People always think you could just change the conductor plate of valve body. There's no way for you to know if there's something wrong in the transmission until you take it apart. Most of the time it's NOT the conductor plate. People change the plate and still have the problem. A lot of time it'll give a speed sensor code and people think you can just change the plate. So wrong. You have to rebuild the trans and put a new valve body and plate from the dealer to fix it right. Otherwise you'll be going back n forth to the mechanic and end up spending more than you would have if you just fixed it right the first time

@@sicilian2k could be trans or the valve body or even something else. A code doesn't give the answer all the time or tell you whats wrong. That's why we change everything when we do our jobs because we have to warranty it and if we change one thing at a time then we'll usually spend more time and money and have more problems.
If the trans is messed up inside where the speed sensor reads, then it'll give a code for speed sensor and people think the sensor is bad but it could be that the part inside the trans that the sensor reads is bad. It reads a magnet to count the rotations and if the magnet is broken or fried then the sensor won't read it right and set a code oft. Replacing the sensor won't fix the bad part in the trans that it's reading. There's so many things that go wrong. Sometimes the torque converter or pump break. And there's countless things in the trans that can break or go bad or someone worked on it before and didn't know what they were doing and put the trans back together incorrectly
