Tiago Monteiro, Casper... very exciting! I can't believe I missed your game live on tv... I was really rooting for Borg on singles, he was playing so beautifully... congratulations for the doubles!
Crazy good content, Simon! So informative and great editing as well! 🤩🎾 It was a tough match, but you and Leo did good against top level opponents that have been playing together for way longer than you and Leo have. Always rooting for you and can't wait for more content and for success for you on the tour! 👊😎🇸🇪
Bro I’ve been watching tennis since 2010 probably and have played in a decent junior Tennis Europe level. I’ve been following you for a long time now and I can say this match was a real improvement and really shows potential in my humble opinion. You just started! Keep it up!
great job out there simon. the more experience you get, the more settled in you’ll feel in these matches. keep up the great work, you’re progressing well
Dude, this is a massive W for you - Like you said, these guys (top 50 doubles players) had a pop-off tournament. You and Leo put some serious pressure on them in Set 2, only dipping right at the end. Hope this match gave you confidence (also, the crowd was hyping y'all up too!)
Outstanding doubles! Watching this match it really highlights how incredibly skilled all of you are at crowding the center of the court and taking away all of the angles. Finishing shots from all players are top notch too as everyone is incredibly efficient. Will you and Leo be playing any more doubles together? Many years ago his older brother visited us at the University of Minnesota, so we briefly got to play against him which was cool. Keep up the great content!
Thx Simon for the advice! I got into a situation before where I felt like I had to hit big but ended up just cracking under pressure! Thx for your help! You got this👍
so much respect for the work you're putting in and the standard you're holding yourself to. Great videos. Rooting for you, and it's obvious that you're gonna catch a break at one of these events and gain the traction you're looking for. Keep going, man.
Casper Ruud at the gym! so cool! But we are rooting you for Simon! This was a tough match since they are a really experienced doubles team. "Pressure is a Privilege" as Bille Jean said.
Great match! Of course, there will be more confidence in the next fights. The most important thing is that you now understand more and already know what you need and what you don’t need.
Keep pushing Simon. This was some crazy level doubles. It's just a matter of more experience and confidence following. And of course being with Leo, is another incredible experience I'm sure. Loved this content and lovely seeing you on some big boy cameras. Cheers! M
What an exciting match to play in. You guys were in that second set. Bit more experience playing guys of that caliber and you can definitely take them.
Great content with the 4.5 K half frame capture. Focusing was spot on with no stabilization on a prime lens. Hopefully more post production with a balanced colorization on an Eizo could bring you better results in the future. It's def obvious you're right eye dominant but that shouldn't be a problem in the future. Try a medium format that will give you more visual space & a clearer look on the baseline. Good luck!
Hi Simon can you made a video about your equipment? Like which racquet your using, if you made any customizations to the balance or weight. String tension for different surfaces. Great content by the way. Thanks
Good job Simon. Nonetheless, new shoes versus broken in ones. You and Leo were rookies compared to your seasoned opponents. Good way to use it as a learning ground. It is an inspiration to watch. Good hands at the net. Keep your chin up. Keep it professional too. Great commentary on how they "slowly smothered you" with their net rushing, making the court feel smaller. A great experience hopefully. Cheers.
Hey Simon, I’m a fellow content creator and a lot of people don’t know I’m a 5.0 tennis player. Your opponents were so good at squeezing the middle at the net during the points, it makes me think you almost have to just take more risks and go hard down the line early on a few more times than you normally would. Or really go aggressive cross court to keep them away. But it’s so tough. Their instincts and moves were very high level. I did have a quick question- did you do the captions yourself? Or use a service, editor, etc? I create videos and always looking to learn (Zelda Music Theory, 15k SUBs). Always enjoy your content and personality. Thanks! Kevin ZMT
Hi Zelda! It’s a little mix of all, I use CapCut to edit and sometimes their auto-captions. Sometimes when I travel and don’t have much time, my friend helps me and he does much himself I believen
Just a question. What causes that some players have effortless big and strong drives or serves? For example Alcaraz, he is not the tallest, he is not the most muscular, but he has the strongest forehand of the tour. Is there a training that you could do to make your shots faster and stronger?
Great match. I love your vids and I would love to meet up and play with you and maybe you could teach some things because you are the best player. Excited to se your next video.❤
Not sure what tool you used to make the subtitles but it had some funny errors. Such as "warm up session" turning into "warm obsession" and "serve and returns" turning into "servant returns". But other than that great video!
People don't realize that double specialists! Can play "The Game of "doubles" equal to or Better than Federer, Nadal and Djokovic! Nedovyesov played for Oklahoma State and was number #1 in the nation... I watched him beat Taylor Dent first round when I played the Tulsa challenger.... I remember thinking how can a college player beat a pro who was ranked 21 in the world! 😅😮
Hi guys, could you please help me. I play tennis 3/4 a week and have an elbow injury. What are you doing to prevent and solve this, because you’are playing all day?
I didn't watch the whole match, but the points you showed in the video really highlight how poor of a doubles player Leo is. Your NCAA experience definitely should net you bigger wins on the doubles circuit than some of the "home grown" singles guys.
Warmup session, not warm obsession. Warmup (noun or adjective), not warm up (phrasal verb). 30-minute should be hyphenated. Court, not chord. Serve and returns, not servant returns. Center court, not senacord. Differ, not differentiate. Brother-in-law mowing, not brother in law moving.
Leo seems clueless in doubles strategy. Poor movement at the net- not active at all. He doesn’t follow the ball/cover, nor does he look to poach. The only reason you guys struggle when you serve, is because he sucks at the net. You, on the other hand, played some great tennis 🤙🏼. Choose a better partner next time 😂
@@claudiu2044 haha don’t worry!! you’re not wrong though… my rankings dropped a lot, but I feel like my toolbox has expanded and I’ve loaded the bow backwards- ready to hopefully release now!
Hey Simon, good video although the captions were really unnecessary (in my opinion) and the short images when you said wind felt more like a nuisance than anything else ? I don't think overediting is really useful nor healthy for you long term :) That being said, thank you for your time
I think it's a good result given that you and Leo hadn't played together before and your opponents are very experienced. Keep it up!

Rec players would be wise to copy the cross court warm up, practice for dubs.

Super bra kämpat :)
Ser hur tufft det r i dubbel. Lindstedt i top form ser hur bra han var
that was monteiro
Those guys were the final opponent! What I'm asking me is why there so less lobs in male doubles? Would it be such a bad taktic?
I think pro players but doubles players especially have really good overheads and it’s hard to hit a good lob past two people on clay.
