that guy was definitely one of the higher level players you have played on this channel in my opinion, your level was really high keep up the grind great content as always🔥🔥
I’ve had similar yells in frustration, I get it. It makes it more amazing to see how good you two are, and to realize how some players (Williams sister, Nadal, Alcaraz, Coco to name a few) can go pro as teenagers and even win some pro tournaments. The power, reflex, and accuracy is amazing! Keep going!!
@@НикридебленUnless he didn't show all of them, he won all the points he did those serves, didn't he?? So, compared to the other serves, using them randomly and not overdoing them, to me they do indeed seem to work for him.
Very high level tennis from both of you Simon and again, your match came down to tiny margins and slight dips in kevel which it often does at the level you play. Awesome content as always Simon and goodluck for your next tournament👍
heartbreaking loss Simon, but you'll come back stronger man. Now that you're back at competing in singles, I bet you'll pick up a few points in the rest of this year. Rooting for you, keep it up!
Great play Simon. Hope the ankle was cooperative. You did so many things at a very high level, and probably what got in your way were the thoughts of defending your points. The pancake and going to the net was a thing of beauty. He's definitely a higher level player than his rankings would suggest IMHO. Loved how you were strong at the net as well just generally. Don't worry about the points, it's just a way of you moving on to the next stage of making some changes to come back much stronger. Possibly as you were mentioning before, against taller power players, it won't be a bad idea to develop more of a linear drive for your forehands and utilize them in mixture against a player like this. He was clearly succeeding at the deeper hits from you for his forehand crosscourt winners and couldn't do much with your deeper forehands down the center. I'm sure your more than capable coach has seen these factors. In full support and looking forward to more. M
This guy just didn't miss and hit the craziest cross courts off your volleys to the FH side. Nothing you can really do if your opponent never misses. Keep up the grind, onto the next one!
Tough luck Simon, tough to break someone whose first serve percentage is so high. I had a match this morning and I have a question for you. What do you do against someone who is just playing their best tennis and it feels like there's nothing you can do. Have any advice or a gameplan of some kind for those kind of scenarios?
Opponents running forehand was impressive, but did you notice he went cross court every time. Something to file away for the next encounter. On the plus side he never had an answer for the Pancakes. 🥞
I think you could play more deep slice big guys hate that than return like rafa stay on the wall at the return( to get as much time as possibe) if you stay close by his big serves you have a bad return percentage. But to watch was it great, I felt that both of you kinda hated eachother but made the match even more intence. Nice video!
Sorry for that Simon. But to be fair, Tibo played VERY high level. His serves were bombs, and he gave away very few free points, along with having heavy ground strokes. To beat a player like him, it would be interesting to see some of his upcoming opponents (from YOUR coaches perspective) to see what those opponents do differently. I'm not sure if there's a technical difference you can use, because your game is your game. But tactically, there might be something. Maybe short slices on the backhand to either drag him to the net, or maybe just drag him wide. Either way, your next shot would be either an attempted winner past a net player, or pushing to the opposite corner to continue building the point. The short slice is something that Ash Barty used so well against the biggest hitters in the WTA, so it's a strategy that works against power. Maybe worth exploring that tactical option?
Good effort in Many ways Simon. Do you have a Coach? FYI, some areas for you to look at OK: 1) With Big Servers like that You only need to use their speed by simply presenting the angle of your racket face correctly and the ball will go back like a Bullet. It takes practice. And One needs be be Focussed on a perfect split and pounce in the correct direction. 2) Your Court Position when coming to the net was often incorrect ! Look at that closely with your Coach so you can tighten that up. 3) As with number 1 your split is the Priority once at the net and the timing of it decides if you can respond to what you see off his strings! It’s good that there is room for improvement and those can be made very quickly!! Finally, every ball is coming back, until it doesn’t !! So make sure you are on your way towards every ball, before making a choice not to chase it… Personally I was trained to get there as quick as possible. Look at Nadal and now Alcaraz what do you see regarding what I just mentioned? Good luck young Man
Your opponent was a beast and you were able to keep up with him for most of the match, heartbreacking loss because of the points but a great match nervertheless
You played super strong Si. The dude played extremely consistent tennis, with a cannon serve AND cannon forehand. [wow that thing was insane] I think you did the right thing in taking calculated risks to come to net when you did, given the logical need to get forward / aggressive and force him under pressure more. Next time you'll have him way more worked out.
This guy was serving BOMBS. Don't worry Simon, in the coming year you'll reach this level. Maybe this guy is also physically stronger than you, is that an aspect you can work on maybe?
Yeah, it was clear that Simon just doesn't have big enough weapons. Got countered so many times. Definitely something to work on. On courts this fast, it must be: Shot without pressure = Winner.
Hey man, like eveyone else is saying this guy was double the size and strength, also had some precision to his shots but my humble opinion that if I were you I would take more risks as playing your normal game clearly wasn't enough against him. I would definitely try to take the ball earlier and try to move inside the court for returns and when possible. He's very confident in his game but if you managed to shake him with few points where you absolutely went for your shots any monetum can be shifted. Keep it up and all the best....
One thing you can do for sure is become more powerful physically, I mean you don't have a big build, but you can definitively increase your strength and explosive power. Gaining 10% in your ground stroke speed will do you a great deal.
Good game bro he served very well and I got you it's quite hard to serve when the game is 4/4 especially if you don't have big seerve but keep it up good game!
Tough match Simon. Tibo's serve is insanely good. It's funny though, I think your pancake serve was even more effective than his cannon. Nice job using that. I wonder if there is any other way to incorporate that kind of disruptive play into the rest of your game? Only other thing I can say would be maybe try to work on adding a little more penetration on your forehand when you have time to set up and hit it. Best of luck to you.
You kept hitting shots to his forehand where he was on the move. He won a crazy amount of those points. When you kept the ball deeper at his backhand, especially not super wide, you had nice control of the points. How's the ankle feeling?
Yeah he handled angles very well :/ ankle is getting better day by day! This was my first tournament back so was a little unsure how it would hold up, but learning how to work with it now better and better :)
not bad man. just have to find more slick ways to get these players. Guys who are that built is hard to play them in indoors. If i were u . I would at all cost try to slow him down. make him play the points for longer period of time. Probably more slices etc. but overall if he is this built serve like this all the time, it will not be easy.
Tough to play indoors with a guy having such a big serve, all though you are also a very good indoor player. Have to hit hard on short balls. Maybe adding some practice session, circular and vertical. Same shot for big angles. You are not a big guy, gotta use those angles.
Some pancake serves that really made the difference .. one thing I saw from this that you had a lot of approaching's to net when you were giving him a forehand shot .. and he seems to be very strong on passing you from that side. I did not watch the full game so this might not be relevant for the rest of the match .. but for this youtube clip I guess
Simon heal that foot properly and get back out there, you are not moving well enough as you are scared to do so with that discomfort/injury, your hand is great, you just need to get physically fit
This guy is much better than you Simon , he pounded and pounded on the serve. You need to move on and take the positives! Don't give up! on to the next one!
that guy was definitely one of the higher level players you have played on this channel in my opinion, your level was really high keep up the grind great content as always🔥🔥
That dude just had such a huge game, massive serve and his passing shots where next level
He was consistently coming up clutch with the running forehand passes
Tibo’s serve kinda look like Zverev’s flat, pretty fast and with high bounce. Definitely a mortal weapon
tibo is such an amazing player, ive seen him play at the challengers and his serve is so flat and fast. Its no shame you lost to him..
I’ve had similar yells in frustration, I get it. Man, those pancakes serves do really work. Good match from both!
i dont think so, compare their benefit with benefit of common serves
@@НикридебленUnless he didn't show all of them, he won all the points he did those serves, didn't he?? So, compared to the other serves, using them randomly and not overdoing them, to me they do indeed seem to work for him.

that guy played insanely well. Tibo is a beast. Expect to see him in matches a lot based on what I saw in this video
Thank you for posting this match. It's crazy how there are such good players in the tennis world. Look forward to more vids
Appreciate the comment and thank you for the encouragement!

Bro hai giocato benissimo il tuo avversario era prorio forte e l'altezza lo ha aiutato ! complimenti sei bravissimo anche tu !
that outside spin serve tho 😳

take a medical time out :)

Great match. Your opponent looked very, very strong.
1:20 I actually applauded after this point.
tough opponent, what a crack of a serve.

great inside out serve on the add side !
Love this vid.. it shows so well how damn hard these serves go :) also so effective indoors..

My boy consistently hitting pancake serve + volley from the AD side

Pretty solid comebacks on ur serve games though, that was fun to watch
wow, this was a very high level match. both of you have tricky serves
dangg tiboo next level player, the return forehand was lit
Damn what a huge hitter
Crazy serve - ball bounced so high...
That guy played really well and had a good all court game...
Really interesting and inspiring 💪🏻
Great game, more slice returns and maybe bring in him more. You have great touch, use it more!

Looks like you switched rackets from the Blade to the Yonex Ezone?
The pancake serve and volley is LETHAL
Man good video, I really think you could beat that dude on another day and he was really good
didnt he love his crosscourt forehand passing shot
Yeah absolutely nuked that one 😅 always thought I covered it….

Tough to lose so many points, Simon. But you'll bounce back! Keep pushing! 👊😎🎾
Great forehands
Was rublev hitting next to you? All I kept hearing was “BUUUUUEEHHHHH” lol
😂 haha might’ve been
7:09 , pause the video and watch where the ball bounces
Yeh that guy just played his top level on the day, you did well to stay in the game, on another day you could beat him
Was Rublev practicing nearby?
1:56 Someone behind the camera farted and then grunted
😂
Would like to see a karue vs simon match.
You played well. Small margins

Be strong man and me too

great match but he simply overpowered you. his serve is a total cannon and you just couldn't hurt him enough. great play though, respect.
I now tibo colson nr 8 in belgium. So strong competator
BRO THE BALL ON 7:05 İS İN WTF WAS THE REFF THİNKİNG ????
Maybe u could have tried standing way back like Medvedev.
Tibo kan wel een balletje slaan 😝

Yeah I see your point! Running fh was one of his strongest shots for sure :/
Simon we like you but your miles away from this guy, and miles away from a challenger level - let alone ATP
Gotta love the challenge!
nice pancakes :D
Simon heal that foot properly and get back out there, you are not moving well enough as you are scared to do so with that discomfort/injury, your hand is great, you just need to get physically fit

Good video! But please shave next time. Thank You for your hard work good Sir!
