Mate you're like Djokovic. Incredible movement, excellent mental capacity, fighting every ball like it was last and not giving any free points. Then your opponent starts going for too big shots. Your serve is also easily top notch which isn't easy for your player profile.
I think you really have a chance to progress on your career.
    Great job!

You make a really solid point about underarm serves. I do like to stand back a bit for serve returns, and it leaves me vulnerable to underarm serves. I’ll stay far back on return until my opponent does one to force me closer to the baseline. It’s a genuine tactic, and it forces some people to play in a way they’re not comfortable with.

The reason why underarm serves work is because they are super well executed. Underarm serves work because . They are waiting to see a ball toss that never comes.
Make a new rule: "all serves must start with a toss above the head" and the underarm/dropshot serve will no longer be effective because the returner will know when the point is starting.

Impressive play especially the assertive volley game and solid serves that got you out of some tense moments. The two of you seem to have a similar game and you managed well his blitz forehands. Congrats Simon, wishing you a favourable 2023.

We need more like buttons here! I would have pressed all of them. Bjorn was and is my hero and I consider him the father of the modern forehand. I even consider his footwork one of the best I've ever seen, even for today's standards. You remind me of Bjorn quite a bit Simon with much of what you do...namely your calm and collect nature on the outside and a proper level of combustion on the inside (I'm of course just guessing about the internal levels...lol). I'm sure he's super proud of his super talented son.
I watched this video in amazement, mostly because of your abilities and what you did here. I am not going to spoil it for the viewers just in case they read my comment before watching but man, we're so proud of you Simon.
Congrats on the coaching platform, I will ask you for your help in the near future, as I am going through somewhat of a transformation myself.
Again, incredible match, against an amazing talent, and that says a ton about you at the level that you truly are...far above what your numbers suggest.
Cheers and looking forward for more!

Underarms serves are the most underrated shot in tennis. If i am gonna underarm I always bounce the ball couple times check the opponent if he is ready and bounce couple more and under arm so that they can't cry like babies when they got aced and if they cry I shut them up by telling them they should have called I am not ready when I start bouncing the ball. If you want to see the true personality behind that person underarm them. If they cry keep away from them If they laught it off and start walking to the other side offer them a beer after the match :D. That is how I met with my wife. Now we have 3 kids underarming the shit of their opponents.

Tennis is hard to understand sometimes. A couple months ago this guy on a simiar court, was a point from serving for the match against Tommy fucking Paul... now he wins 3 games against Simon Freund (no disrespect). And he gave everything...

Does this mean I should lose maybe 4-5 games vs Tommy? ;)

I don’t see any difference between a drop shot and an underarm serve. Both are meant to catch your opponent out of position. I’m not really sure why underarm serves aren’t used more often or how thier “disrespectful”. Shouldn’t drop shots be disrespectful too then 😂

Good job! You if could easily beat an ATP 506 ranked player, your real rankings should be in the 300s.. ya?

Edit: Ughhhh waiting for the others to do mistakes is sound plan in the tennis, but embracing and advertising this mentality makes me wanna puke. Ughhhh
