    On one hand that guy is super annoying, but on the other you have to do what works. I could see it affect you when he screamed on unforced errors it lead to you missing more easy shots. The guy is also an ass getting mad at his partner quite visibly. Ultimately, you won which was super satisfying to watch. Congrats!

    Really glad you guys won that match. I understand it’s part of college tennis to be that energetic and positive and loud on the court, but they went far beyond that to the point of where it’s just poor sportsmanship, especially after some of the bad misses at the net and at very irrelevant scorelines. The ITF also isn’t college anymore. Really glad you and Jo won this with your more Scandinavian approach, I guess your college tennis experience helped, because these guys were just annoying and way over the top. Props to staying reasonably calm as well throughout the match👍

    • @mattiastennis
      @mattiastennis 4 месяца назад

      It was not 'energetic' it was hindrance. I dont know what this 'college' tennis is but tennis is tennis not exhibits from some psychiatric ward. And while its not surprising to see the meth-induced idiot screaming out it should not be allowed on court. Its blatantly ridiculous and he and his wanabee cultured supporter audibly present near the camera(the fool yelling buzzwords) are just trying to game it to their advantage. Of course none of this thankfully prevailed. Sadly I see and hear this a bit more than not and especially with those like the meth-head yelling and its always from those ilk who think they are the heavens gift to tennis in their own mind..

That is one reason I don't watch high level ATP doubles , it can be a little clinical and dry, unless Rafa is playing. Great playing Simon, my favorite doubles content on You tube, 6:51 really made me laugh. This was the whole premise of the movie Slapshot, when do you go from sport to spectacle, it can be a fine line.

    It was good to see that victory. Johannes is a solid player and a good representation of a native Dane. I recall watching him in a Davis Cup match and he was playing well and he also featured on DTF video.
    However that white capped meth-induced screamer would have done well for a good knockout in the ring afterwards and the screamer was doing was blatant and gamed hindrance. During one point the asylum-escapee talked aloud and then the yelling from the ground. But this is atypical from ilk like this. One look at the fool and you can gather this will be the outcome. What was annoying also is that not only is that fool thinking he is infinitely better than what he actually is but that the wanabee 'cultured'(using various come on buzzwords) supporter also thinks so. I see this now and ever present with juniors and their parents or hang on 'trainers'.
    It will be interesting to see what happens in the final..

    Great win. Great game. Thanks. As for the yelling, hilarious. I do whoop a bit when I hit a really good forehand winner but that does not happen very often. In general, I just let my opponents do what they want and concentrate on my own game. Mind you, I don't like players who take ages between points. And I don't like it when a player hits a faulty 1st serve and then rushes into the 2nd serve without giving me time to get back into position to receive. Oh yea, and another thing. I call every single shot that needs to be called on my side of the court. However, some of my opponents hardly ever call, thereby sowing doubt into proceedings. My hearing is ok by the way, but this lack of calling is a bit annoying. I could go on for ages but I'll stop there.

    As much as it is annoying to hear the guy scream especially on unforced errors, I completely understand where he is coming from. Imagine either you or your partner just finished a 3 hour match, you’re dead tired, and now you’re playing doubles and just get killed the first 3 games. Something has to change fast or you guys are going to lose very quickly. Being college players, the first thing to do is show more energy and show more fight which can lift you and your partner up (while also getting under the skin of your opponent). So even though the yelling is obnoxious sometimes, I don’t think of this person as a bad guy but an excellent teammate trying to lift his partner up and win the match with energy. A good lesson for those wanting to get better at doubles and to be a better teammate.
