I've been getting more and more into playing over the past few years and watching newer and older matches, and what I'm seeing here (aside from some of the obvious 'goofball' playing around) is some of the old 70's play style. If you watch those old old matches, there was a lot of touch to the game. A lot of strategy - ball placement, short drops, almost like chess. I think it looks weird to them and to us because modern tennis is basically slamming the ball as hard as humanly possible from the baseline to the other baseline until someone makes a mistake.
It's the rackets. There's no point in playing touch shots with modern racquets as it's just easier to do power shots. With wooden racquets you don't have as much control when you hit hard, also they're heavier.

They say we only use a fraction of our brain (the number seems to change depending on who you ask), and I think that's largely true.. but I don't think that means there's parts of your brain that are dormant and just waiting to be used for something. I think that if you train your brain to be an incredible tennis (or paint or sculpture or whatever) processing machine, it necessarily takes energy and resources away from other areas.. it doesn't just grow out of nowhere. My uncle can see/visualize/feel complex mathematics and physics in his head (a talent that attracted the team that built CERN and ultimately he helped them design and build it)... But I'll be damned if he can hold a regular, natural human conversation without appearing like an alien who has intensively studied human interactions, but is now trying it for real for the first time.
And the very next match a small number of people in the crowd abused and heckled Nick so badly that he called the supervisor who just said, Oh they're only having fun. In the end he was defaulted and shook the hands of the umpire, supervisor and his opponent, Ruud. Ruud, on the other hand, was filmed beating his chest with joy, he cheered and waved his arms in the air trying to get the crowd to applaud him. They didn't. Quite the gentleman.

It seems consistent with any form of artistry.. (and I'd count top tier athleticism as art, just like any painting or sculpture).
The more gifted you are in one area (be it art, math, music, etc) the less you have left over for the "normal things" that the rest of us take for granted.
Quite the gentleman.
what tournament is this? Weird it doesn't say the date and tournament in the description
Rome masters 2019. I said it in the first 30 seconds of the video buddy
At 16:00 kyrios stood there spinning his racket around as a distraction, but to also make Medvedev think he was giving up the point, and to bait an easy second serve. Genius play by the GOAT.
Craziest match ever. Not only circus shots, but mixed with such power and finesse. 1000 likes to this video!
Glad you enjoyed it buddy! Feel free to check my other circus show videos!
I love how Kyrgios beats one of the best players in the world without even trying
Like most sports, tennis is just bouncing a ball back and forth. It should be fun to do and fun to watch. I don't know why so many fans and players are so uptight about it 😂😂😂
22:22 is hilarious. Imagine Daniil would 've hit his target.
Nick looks like he had a big night out, the night before.
This is back from the era when Logic was his coach/manager
I fast forwarded to the end. Life us too damn short for this kak.
9:06 Everything he does is just so funny 🤣🤣
Kyrgios es un jugador excepcional 😮 su estilo es distinto y fantastico ❤
Kyrgios is the typical player that Italian crowd loves. Hope to see him soon back on court
Man from the start underhand serve I was expecting warmup first before circus show 😂
The referee probably had nightmares before the match when he saw he is refereeing these two together
Kyrgrios is box office , i could watch him all day.
Way more fun to watch
That was great to watch. Stop taking tennis so damn serious and appriciate the entertainment a bit more.
If that Kyrgios guy only had ever managed to control his sheer talent and bring it to use.
His tactics here - if there were any, and not just coincidence - were not bad. Usually you lose to Medvedev on the long run, so concentrating on the service games and disrespecting him on the rest is not a bad idea, regarding Medvedev's temper.
If he only had managed to repeat this against other players...
They need to change the ball to dark blue or something like that so it can even be seen on a clay court!
The second match with Ruud is amazing
Very good match that guys are very skilled
