      I think part of the reason Kyrgios makes so many great plays is the fact the he presents as though it really doesn't matter to him so he can swing away freely without concern for the outcome. That can also work against him when it comes to battling someone with the heart that Federer consistently expresses. When facing a man of solid character a renegades tends to be put off their rhythm when faced with the question - who wants it more.

    When Kyrgios is in the zone the only thing you can do is get him to make unforced errors and get him frustrated. Cause when he is feeling it, his normal balls all hit like incredible serves themselves. And ironically, his own service it's like a machine. When he is feeling it, he returns an incredibly good serve with a return that's even faster and more dangerous.
    With Federer he doesn't have to complete at his peak feeling it, he can be mediocre and return most balls that aren't the dangerous ones. And after a while Kyrgios will get mad, take more risks, hate himself for it and instead of being content with playing longer rally's he goes ahead and still does his second serves like first ones, and doesn't block fast serves, but does the flick of the wrist.

    • @terrenceolivido741
      @terrenceolivido741 10 дней назад

      100% not true. the limitation of the backhand before was getting the weight and inertia of the wooden racket moving in time to contact the ball in front. i would more say that both styles will be used by the same player in the future depending on the situation. Federer proved that the one-handed backhand can do everything that the two can and it offers more reach and less energy consumption.

    • @abcxyz123
      @abcxyz123 10 дней назад +1

      @terrenceolivido741 100% true that Fed said that. I disagree that the one-handed backhand can do exactly what a double-handed backhand can on a consistent basis for individual players, same for the other way around. But I still believe one can be a top 5 player with a single handed backhand in the future. Anyway that's not what the og post was about.

    • @terrenceolivido741
      @terrenceolivido741 10 часов назад

      @@pinhe4d321 ok ...., the truth is the one-handed backhand will require 3 times more training time to master than the two. it is true that if you are young your body can withstand the extra work and stress of the two-hander . Federer proved what the one-hander can do in modern tennis. i have no problem using combinations of the two. what about a right handed and left handed forehand for that matter ( switch hands ) Monica Seles used a reverse grip on her backhand. she hit two handed from both sides. my main point is the one-hand backhand - while hardest to master - results in the most beautiful body positions. you can snear at that if you want. as far as you and your peers - you could ask - " if being smart were an advantage, how come me and my buddies out-reproduce everyone ? same point - though you will probably not be able to understand it.

    Federer won because he is the better tennis player, plain and simple.
    “Talent” and “potential” are mere speculation; anyone with Kyrgios’s size and training can have a good day on a tennis court. People should just stop with the narrative that Kyrgios could win everything if he just “tried” when he is obviously trying really hard and failing every time. If he was really that talented, that talent alone should have carried him to AT LEAST one ATP 1000 Masters or even a GS but he has none. In fact, Kyrgios has never even cracked the top 10. This is in contrast to a similarly “naturally talented” player like Marat Safin, who was never known for having a good work ethic or being mentally tough, but still managed to get 2 Grand Slam titles and World No. 1.
    The hard truth is Nick Kyrgios is just your average journeyman scrub who wasn’t and still isn’t good enough to win anything of relevance, and continues to hide behind the childish facade of “not trying.” He is only relevant because of his entertaining personality, and his audacious on and off-court antics. There were and are many Nick Kyrgioses in tennis and there will be many more in the future, but there will only be one Roger Federer.

    I see a lot of people disrespectful towards rafa in the comments section..i mean why man .. this is a Federer appreciation viddo..no need to talk about rafa. Atill i have some things to say ...@jollyshergill5507 yes..but he also has lead Spain into winning 4 world cups aka Davis Cups... he holds the record for most successful country representation by a tennis player..plus he is the only man in tennis history to register 470+ win in both hard court and clay court 514 on hards..and 484 on clay... no other player in history has done that not even Djokovic... he also has the record for highest streak 81 match winning streak and that too without losing a single set... Djokovic has not done that.. Djokovic like Nadal ha Also won 14 grandslams on one single court.. 10 AO + 4 us on hard courts... but unlike Nadal who had 1 clay court attempt per year.. Djokovic took two attempts per year and double the amount of appearances to do that.. overall Djokovic has 87 grand slam appearances including 2024 us open while Nadal is currently on only 68... out of that he won 22... Djokovic is 20-7 against Nadal on hards but Nadal is also 20-9 against Djokovic on clay .. but he is the only man I'm history to lead a grand slam with absolute dominance 14-0.. Djokovic still doesn't lags behind Margaret with 11 AO open titles..... during 2008 - 2013.. during the peaks of Federer, Murray and Djokovic..m Nadal won 10 grandslams ,37 masters hard court Olympics Gold, only man in open era with American hard court summer slam ad three year end finishes.... conquering all surfaces in 2008 and 2010 .. beating Federer on grass , clay and hards on grand slams .and Djokovic twice on us open finals and thrice on clay ....and on grass in queens finals also... Problem with Rafa is due to his genetical muller weis syndrome .. he always got injured and pulled out of upto 2024 ... 19 grand slams In total ... 6 of those being injured in semifinals staying undefeated.. like in 2011 Australian open which prevented him winning four grand slams in a row... when he came back from injury Djokovic defeated him 7 times I'm a row... same with Federer.. before 2017 Ra fa lead 9-5 on hard courts against Federer and 3-0 in grand slams.. but in 2016 he got injured... came back and Federer for the first time in his career defeated Rafa 6 times in row in hard courts and finally won a ga court grand slam match .even Rafa lost to isner in laver cup .. isners only victory against Rafa in his life... similarly if you take out Djokovic hard court wins over Rafa in 2011 & 2015..post injury..Rafa Leads 7-5 against Djokovic ..... forget clay lol.. um not gonna say anything... bcz you all know .. what rafa is on clay .. a healthy and prime rafa during his peak and the peak of his peers ..always comes out on top... it is a decayed , old aged and recovery phase rafa that loses.. bcz of his genetic foot condition.. which his rivals were lucky not to have ... yet still he is the GOAT of Clay ..has 40 masters 1000 second highest in hostory and 22 grand slams second highest in history..both with significantly lower amount of attempts.... and gas the nkst dominacy record in his strong zone . Something which no one can replicate... Goat is he who does things irreplicable
