There is nothing sportsman like about being the biggest example of a PED user on tour, nor the god-awful grunting that’s intended to be a hindrance to the opponent. Was he a great player? Yes unquestionably. Did he do some nice things for other players and the sport? Yes, probably at the recommendation of his PR team. But Nadal was the biggest cheat the sport has ever seen. It’s a shame the ATP never had the guts to call his various breaks from the sport for what they were, suspensions for testing positive for banned substances. The tour could not admit one of their biggest stars was doping.
