Umpire should've explained to Ymer why he wasn't going to check the mark, which was because Ymer apparently requested it too late, which is subjective but still holds merit, umpire didn't explain that at all and only stated that he saw the ball on the line and looked to the other side which is why he wasn't checking the mark, which is obviously not in the umpire handbook. Nonetheless smashing the ump chair was a tad too far 😅😅
He said that to him, hence why Ymer told him that in the previous match Gasket walked over to the other side of the court and still was in time to call the umpire to check a mark. And that action took more time than what Ymir did. I would agree he was a bit late for the marked to be checked but these Umpires have such a blurry way to accept calls that sometimes it gets infuriating. But Ymer def overreacted.
It's not as much about time as it is the events that happened after. If the ball mark in question is the final hit of the rally, then you can take plenty of time to make the challenge. The issue with Ymer's challenge is that he attempted to play the ball and then decided to challenge only after he saw that his shot was sailing long. You can't give yourself two opportunities to win the point. If he believed that the shot was out, he needed to have stopped play right then and made the challenge.
