    ayeee thanks for adding the score on the screen. and love the amount of commentary - not too much, not too little. really happy to have found your channel! goodluck in your remaining tournaments for the year
    as for comments about your game:
    - sometimes a bit casual at net after hitting a volley. i would say to follow the ball with more footwork intensity because you are obviously very solid at net. the opponents only get the ball past you because you stop following the ball with intensity.
    - use your momentum a little more. when it's time to put your foot on the gas, i think sometimes you play too passively. this will work against players that are at or slightly below your level, but once you get to the big guys (very high ranking), you have to use more 1-2 combinations when you have the momentum.
    just recommendations of course. at the end of the day, you know your game better than anyone else. so you do you. goodluck in the next rounds! 💪🏽

      Thanks for the comment and all the feedback!
      Yeah certainly areas that I'm workin on and need to improve. Just like you say I sometimes have a tendency to stop and get a little more passive with my movement when I get forward, I need to work on having the intensity up 100% the whole way through like you mention. I really notice that against players on the higher levels, they punish that straight away

    I love watching your matches with commentary. Really helpful too for players like me. I’m looking forward to seeing you on tv when you win this and to see you beat a top ranked player. Since you asked kinda for advice, my only thought was when you’re inside the baseline and about to hit your big forehand, maybe once after hitting it normally, do a forehand drop shot so that the opponent can second guess where you’re about to go the next time around. I did that today in a pre qualifying tournament and both times I did it I won the point. My opponent was expecting me to drive the forehand hard and I surprised him both times. Ok. Keep kicking butt and go forth warrior 🎾🏆

    So glad I found this channel. I could see you changing tactics and by coming to the net more. Nice adjustment. The only place where I felt like your opponent got you was when you didn't put balls away at the net and he got a second look at a passing shot. But, some of his passing shots were fantastic.
    Good luck to make it to the qualifying and maybe the main draw!

    You play phenomenally well! My only recommendation for your game is having more penetrating shots that land in the top third of the court more often because yours were landing closer to the service line on average and letting your opponent get into the rallies too often. Setting up some cones for practicing hitting into that area would be helpful! I'm a 5.0 level lifelong player here so I don't feel too silly recommending something to you 😅 Love the content and love seeing a pro comment on his match while I watch 🙌🏻

    Hi! Great job! Question, on this high level of tennis, could you explain why there isn't so much use of the length "depth" of the court with "stop balls" followed by lobs etc if you don't get the point on the first one? too risky??

    • @Simon.Freund
      @Simon.Freund  2 года назад +1

      Hmm, for me I do find it difficult when playing indoor tennis. Most people move and react so well, and usually have a position closer to the baseline compared to outdoors. And also, the pace is usually faster indoors which makes it a little more difficult to change the pace to a drop shot. But nothings impossible, what you practice you improve ;)

    You had every reason to be experiencing early match butterflies; You were favored, your opponent was younger, and he was still in Juniors. On top of that, he was extremely consistent off the ground, and he wasn’t going to beat himself. While you were expected to win, I’m betting that was rather grueling mentally, and no doubt a big confidence booster knowing that you took care of business as needed.
    *Finally a tennis channel providing high level tennis. There are a plethora of wannabe pros/Teachers who’s tennis accolades/credentials amount to low major Division I/Div 3 tennis. They incessantly espouse high level tactics yet can’t keep more than three balls in play. Apologies for the rant. Good luck

    • @7Roxer
      @7Roxer 2 года назад +1

      Many people think you need to do that to reach a higher level but what a lot of people dont understand is that for the pros, a lot of their game revolves around the serve. Having a strong serve or serve +1 game is crucial to reach a higher level and is the ultimate confidence breaker for the opponent

    • @marcelschroder8947
      @marcelschroder8947 2 года назад

    • @Simon.Freund
      @Simon.Freund  2 года назад +1

      Yes, certainly want to implement that more, but sometimes for indoor tennis I feel like it's difficult to consistently get away with drop shots as the opponents usually stand closer to the baseline overall, and move so well these days

    Simon I've now watched three of your matches. Two with strong players and one with this weaker qualifier. 1) Most of your shots are inside the service line. I thought it might be against stronger players but it's with this guy also. 2) You cant just keep the ball and play and bide your time. That works in D1 but at this level every shot is important and you need to do something with it. It's chess baby not checkers.

    • @Simon.Freund
      @Simon.Freund  2 года назад

      Yeah, really trying to work on hittin through the ball more in order to get more depth and weight on the ball. But to often I still get a little bit to cautious with it, and don't hit through it enough, which often makes the ball to spinny and just end up being fluffy in the middle haha... no good

    • @callmemastermaster9875
      @callmemastermaster9875 2 года назад

      @@Simon.Freund There was also a rally (don't remember which one) where you had opponent way out of position, and instead of hitting a flat forehand into the open court for the winner, you hit regular with spin. It was obviously a cautious shot when you should have been aggressive, but it made me wonder if you have a flat forehand in your arsenal because I don't remember you using one in any of the matches I watched.
