Good job Simon. Keeping your head down and doing what you needed to do. You have a great way of keeping it in the grind, cross court rallies to set up points. Patience pays to those who wait. No pun intended. Keep up the good work. Always a pleasure to watch. Cheers

Sick channel, dude. I'm glad you made that adjustment to aggression in the second set since your opponent was really starting to tee off (I was armchair coaching here: "Come into the net!"). Your defense is amazing. Commentary is nice, especially since it's not too much.
Thanks Joshua!! Yeah, I'm fairly confident that if I hadn't made that adjustment I would've been in for a long day at work... And appreciate the feedback :)

Definitely won extra points because you never gave up. I loved that, hope you keep posting and progressing in your tennis journey. ❤ 👊 from California
Hey Lawrence! Thanks for the kind comment. Running around has always been something I've enjoyed and I believe have gotten pretty good at. But trying to climb the ranks I really need to improve running the other way. People just don't miss these days haha.. Gotta make them miss! Love Cali!!
Very solid performance! Very quick and great anticipation when under pressure. I like the simplicity and efficiency of your ground strockes and movement. I also love the other player's intensity, footwork and overall shots (solid biomechanic). However, his lack of shot variety and inability to finish off some points at the net cost him the match. PS: you guys are in great shape haha. Some of these rallies made me dizzy! Well done sir!
Great Victory and great to get some insights /voice over ! Would be great to hear your own words about what you should have done differently in certain points (placement on court, movement etc )

Yes, will for sure do it in the future! Right now I have a lot of match footage that I'll try to get out, then I'll get into more training and other stuff. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Nice match. One thing I noticed is that almost every return came back in play from both sides (not many service winners). The average rally length seemed high as well. Player styles and conditions?
Ps wanted to ask you - what you recommend for legs recovery after match.. I use BCAA and some protein shakes but can you recommend something even better as sometimes I just cant move next day.. thanks man
I do a protein shake and amino acids after almost every practice/workout. And if I'm really ded in the legs I always try to take an ice bath in the evening, helps me feel a lot fresher the next day. Might just be mental, but works very well for me!!
I'll for sure make a video in the future where I go through my specs and stuff. But have to admit that I've always tried not to go down that rabbit hole to much, as I feel that can start messing with your head when you tinker with all the little things possible. But I do play with the wilson pro stock blade racquets that differ from the off-the-shelf ones quite a bit. Stay tuned for it :)
Fantastic level of play by both men! Marvin really did himself in by not having the confidence to come into the net or construct the points in such a way for easy putaways. He needs more power and better placement of his serves to allow for some S&V.
Well I think the main area that holds you back from going to the next level is the depth of your shots. You have the power but if you look closely most of your shots are landing between the service line till about half way to the baseline. That is the real difference between top 500, top 100 and top 10.
I know it seems like a dumb question but watching you play it seems like you play quite a high level of tennis. So my question is, what would the difference be between you and novak djokovic. Put aside the mental aspect. But regarding the foot speed, pace of the groundstrokes, depth of strokes, serve speed. In what aspects would you be quite close, and in which aspects is the big difference. Im just curious because i watch a lot of tennis, court level highlights of top players, and its hard to see the big difference between your level and theirs. Anyone can answer this question.
I’d like to see you be a little more aggressive with your backhand shot placement, when you were getting into long rallies you could push him back into his backhand corner effectively, but when you attacked back to his forehand you left the ball too far in to the inside giving him some easy forehand shots
Thanks for the tip Justin. Been trying to work on that, but yeah, need to get better at it. Feels like I'm trying to hurt him when I move the ball from the bh corner to the fh corner, but more often than not it just comes back to bite with him cranking a fh deep into my corner instead haha...
From pure physical skills, I literally can't tell the difference between a 1000 rank vs 500 rank vs 1 rank. You guys are blasting groundstrokes like top 10 players. The only difference I have to assume then, is tactical and strategic.
Yeah, marginals get slimmer the higher you get. Hard to tell the difference, but simply said, they just do everything a tiny bit better... Which makes the world of difference!
Haha not sure about exploding, but I'm glad to see some people enjoying the content and hopefully getting something out of it :) Thanks for being an early subscriber my friend! "Being the first to do anything takes guts"

Dear Simon, i watched lot of your videos. I like your commentaries, your making very good analysis. I like ure attitude on the match and ur behavior. You look like a very calm and self controlled person. I hope ill not offend u, just wanna tell u my vision. Im a experienced coach (12 years work), worked with all kind of levels (amateurs, kids from beginning, teenagers, pro players (top 600-1000)) I think u have to add little more back swing on ur backhand side. You're got a really great movement, but ur game is based on a counter punches, try to work on going to offence from defense, ure playing to defensive. Great forehand but u need more agression with volley execution. Because uve got a great hands and ure playing very good on the volley side. And one more thing is u have to be ready mentally for aggressive style, because from beginning ull start to make a lots of mistakes. Just think about that, maybe my little tips will help u. And please dont get me wrong) Wish u be in a top 150 (u could do it easy)
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching and for the feedback. Certainly a lot of things in there I’m looking to improve. Especially the going from def to off part!! Need to learn how to use my speed for aggressive tennis, compared to only for defensive :/ all the best and happy holidays 😃👊
Thanks! Yeah, really trying to work on that. But it's tough when the pace is high and you only have split seconds to make decisions. If I get a tiny bit hesitant, it's so easy to missjudge the ball- and from there, it's so easy to stiffen up to try and "not miss" haha... #WorkInProgress!
Different ways, I've played club team matches for teams for in germany, france, denmark, and sweden this year which helps alot. Other than that I have some private and company sponsors who help me finance so I can break even pretty much...
It’s very hard to break that down into an answer :/ a lot of small things goes into it I guess. If they believe you’re a good guy, they believe in you, and want to be apart of you’re journey, then who knows
Yeah, that ball was most likely good for sure. But it's hard to do anything about it with the referee makin calls. Obviously a part of me wants to overrule it and replay the point. But very tricky when you start interfering with the referee on calls, I'll explain my thoughts on it in a future video more in dept. It can really open a can of worms haha...
Great play. You are closing in on there ATP level.....I'm just waiting for someone from this level to declare themselves female....and go win millions of $$$ and some slams. That would end men competing against women.
You should work on your forehand. It looks kinda floppy, meaning sloppy. The racquet orientation in the take back and as you start the forward swing is nonoptimal. And it looks as if you didn’t turn enough from the upper body in your unit turn. All in all this seems to result in a weak sloppy, arm-dominant forehand - something you avoid to use any more than is necessary. You didn’t run around your backhand when you had a chance to, not a single time? Well, your backhand is indeed a much better and more reliable shot, so that is only expectable.
Thanks for the tips, Working on trying to get more turn on my forehand especially, but tricky when I've done it "nonoptimally" for so long to try and change. But working on itttt. And maybe I'll try to go around more and hit backhands, but also, feel like it's been so natural to learn to hit the forehand whenever the choice is there
@@Simon.Freund I meant it seemed you didn’t run around your backhand (in this match clip) to hit inside (out/in) forehands, not even once? (Now in your tough loss againts this Mirdha something (sp) you indeed did hit some run around forehands.) Anyway, as far as I can see judging by these match clips your forehand is the main issue holding you back, the ”glaring weakness” in your game you should focus on going forward. ”Nonoptimal” or not - it depends also on the whole motion, complete mechanics of the swing. What caught my eye as well was your tendency to overuse (weight) transfer footwork in you forehands resulting in shaky shots, in situatuons calling for other options. In general, you should let the racquet arm swing more freely and relaxed through (contact zone) while not over-rotating from the lower body (often it looks imbalanced as if you fell to the left as you hit the ball). Try to hit forehands pivoting/hopping on your back foot in these baseline situations instead of the transfer/spjn move and see if that opens a new direction to develop your technique further. You lack effortless racquet head speed & acceleration in those forehands and that means less control, less pace, less spin and more net and long balls.
Good job Simon. Keeping your head down and doing what you needed to do. You have a great way of keeping it in the grind, cross court rallies to set up points. Patience pays to those who wait. No pun intended. Keep up the good work. Always a pleasure to watch. Cheers

15:20 horrible call lol inside the line
Yeah, that ball was most likely good for sure. But it's hard to do anything about it with the referee makin calls. Obviously a part of me wants to overrule it and replay the point. But very tricky when you start interfering with the referee on calls, I'll explain my thoughts on it in a future video more in dept. It can really open a can of worms haha...
Great play. You are closing in on there ATP level.....I'm just waiting for someone from this level to declare themselves female....and go win millions of $$$ and some slams. That would end men competing against women.
Thanks!! Work in progress! Touchy subject that one, but I guess only the future will tell :)
@@Simon.Freund lmao
You lack effortless racquet head speed & acceleration in those forehands and that means less control, less pace, less spin and more net and long balls.
congratulations, a very good match
Thanks Fernando!
Great camera angle and quality. Please just put the score on if possible, so we can follow along 🙏🏼
Thanks for the feedback, made sure to at least have the game score for the next videos I posted :)
