Really nice to see a halo challenge runner actually use speedrun tech. Almost makes me want to scream seing people ignore all the cool stuff you can do. Awesome runs

@@Combine_SoldierUUBro that would actually be impossible. Some areas require all enemies (Specifically elites) to be killed.

On outskirts if you have taken a warthog your marines might kill some grunts along the way.
The Oracle glitch if I’m not mistaken is due to the game thinking you’re still in the elevator shaft and the game makes you invincible during the elevator ride.
On Regret to achieve the “god despawn” you need to constantly jump/melee while on the gondola to delay a checkpoint.
Ah yes, great point. Good thing I didn’t try then. I didn’t even consider that at the time but you’re absolutely right. The game considers that as me killing them too.
No kidding? I had no ides. That makes more sense. Why they feel felt the need to give you invincibility during that is weird though.

That’s weird that this was easier to do than CE’s Legendary without killing Grunts.
It’s weird how Bungie never thought that throwing in a crazy amount of Jackal snipers was a bad idea. I can understand them not adding the glowing helmets or making it so they ALWAYS miss the first shot until 3 because they were rushed, but you’d think they’d at least know that their numbers should be reduced along with giving half of them carbines.
If you haven’t watched the videos animating H2’s storyboards you definitely should. In addition to Truth’s plan actually making perfect sense (let’s just say in a way his plan to ascend to godhood was something very real, and he would’ve won if humans and Elites didn’t band together to stop him) some of the plot holes that exist in a retail game weren’t present. Instead of the Heretic leader firing at the Arbiter right before Spark is about to explain what the Rings do and potentially gaining an ally you’d first have the boss fight. THEN as he’s laying on the ground mortally wounded Spark would appear, and before either of them can explain what the Rings do Tartarus and his Brutes would show up to collect Spark and blow a hole in the Heretic leader’s chest. When they arrive at Delta Halo there would’ve already been a few ships there, explaining how the Covenant were able to land troops on the Ring and set up encampments despite arriving at the same time we did. You would’ve seen some cool stuff like the Gravemind splitting one of his tentacles to create a mouth that he’d use to speak (there was a quote form one of the Bungie devs where that mouth was akin to a sock puppet, implying that wasn’t actually his head and that the entirety of the Gravemind was the control center), and there was a mix of Juggernauts and Combat Forms dumping bodies into his pit. There were also some weird things I’m glad didn’t make it into the game like a boss fight with Mercy where he’d pull out a wizard staff to fight Chief with.
You should also check out Halo 2 Uncut. Vengeful Vadam has videos talking about the various changes to encounters, balancing (using values from older H2 builds so it’s all over the place), cut dialogue, and the cut vehicles. In a different comment section you said that you got the Windows Store version of MCC and it sadly won’t run on your computer. The videos will ensure you can still get something out of the mod without playing it.
All of the skips make it a cake walk by comparison. Except Gravemind. Seriously, fuck gravemind.

Since the gameplay of grunts is "how you're little brother would play" you are essentially just not killing them in a multiplayer game just my thoughts.
@Woodyisasexybeast It’s interesting the tricks speedrunners use to get past different parts of the game. The most interesting exploitable glitch is energy sword flying.
Definitely do. He also reverted the visuals to how they looked in the e3 demo, and I personally prefer that look. When Regret teleports Cortana would have a line of dialogue where she mentions that his teleportation system works the same way that Spark’s does. That would’ve been a cool way to further hammer home that the Covenant had been reverse engineering Forerunner technology. There also would’ve been more Flood Pelicans, and they would’ve been trailed by Banshees. Cortana had some lines about High Charity’s life support systems being compromised by Flood spores and said that the biomass had been growing exponentially across the city. Too bad those weren’t included because they would’ve done a better job of explaining how quickly the Flood were able to overrun the city, instead of just Cortana saying that the dropships were spreading across the city and seeing two or three examples of that. There’s some other cool things in the mod like being able to pick up Jackal shields (dropped by the cut shielded Carrier Forms), you could pick up the human and Covenant mounted turrets, the spike grenades are now in the mod thanks to Digsite, and a bunch of other cool things. The fight with the Scarab is also more engaging because the turrets actually shoot you, and it has restored Phantom chin turrets on the sides (explains why there’s so many rockets). Vengeful Vadam said that since he’s done working on Halo 2 Uncut he’ll remake his Reach Evolved mod using MCC’s new modding tools. It will be really cool to see what new stuff he adds and how he refines what came before.
Have you watched the videos animating H2’s storyboards or have you not gotten around to it? They’re really interesting. One of them has a Flood infected Drinol that a bunch of Brutes take down. You’ll have to pause the video every now and then to read the quick notes between animations.

Completely unrelated to the topic of the video, this is just a dumb recommend. You should really watch this AMAZING YTP (RUclips Poop. It’s those dumb videos where people take SpongeBob or some other show/movie and graffiti all over it. They’ll commonly use memes from the CDI Zelda games) collab called The Shrekoning. For a time it felt as though it would never be ogre, because it was like 20 minutes long. Whenever they’d open something All Star would just start blaring. It didn’t matter if it was a door or a book, anything. The song would just start blaring. It’s VERY VERY dumb, but it’s pure gold. I was just dying laughing. It was made entirely with Shrek memes/videos over the first movie. YTPs played a big role in my childhood and helped shape my sense of humor. They’re usually either truly phenomenal or barely even watchable dumpster fires. There’s not a lot in between. You’ll probably lose brain cells, but it’s worth it🤣

Do an ODST run without killing any Engineers (can’t be done since they’ll explode once the squads they’re assigned to die, and you NEED to blow up a bunch to complete that one flashback where Alpha Nine are mostly together and you blow up the Scarab).

Collectible. They’re hidden in most levels throughout each Halo game. Grabbing them earns an achievement and unlocks/enables a special modifier that alters the way the game plays. This one in particular is called blind and when activated, it disables your HUD.
How do you check what enemies you killed after each level?
After finishing a level, exit to the main menu and press Y (on controller) to pull up the post game carnage report or play with scoring on. If scoring is on, the carnage report will pull up automatically upon the levels completion.
it works but when i finished the mission forerunner in halo 4 it went to reclaimer and when i exited and press Y it show i have 0 kills because the post game carnage showed the mission reclaimer instead of forerunner. If you want ill try to explain in more detail i didint explain good enough
That shouldn’t matter. Sounds like something bugged because I used that method in the video for the first few missions. I would just turn on campaign scoring then. That way, at the end of the mission, it’ll pull up the carnage report automatically.
