I can see the benefits of a serger and will consider purchasing one. Thanks for the lesson.😊
@@grettalemabouchou6779 the serger is a great sewing investment 💖
Never made a dress a complete novice but I'm giving this a go. Thank you
You got this!
Thanks, this is by far the best beginners dressmaking video. Thank you!
Your very welcome 🤗
Beautifully made and great fabric choice! Love the simplicity, everything.
Thank you! 🥰
This is my favorite style of dress and I’m so happy to find this simple to follow video! Thank you!
Awesome 👏 tag me in the finished dress or the sewing of it & I will repost it!
Me too, as well as being easy to make, this is my favourite type of dress to wear. It suits most figures. I do however prefer a short sleeved or three quarter shift dress.
Thank you, your a great teacher, I have subscribed.
Love the neck line ❤
OMG. what an amazing video.
Awww thanks. It’s a great pattern. Super easy to use & sew up!

Like your way of explain also i enjoyed watching the video
Thank you so much for watching.
I love this pattern! I might try to hand sew it 👀
You could easily hand sew this dress! What kind of fabric will you use? Thank you for watching!
Excellent ❤❤❤
Thank you! Cheers! ❤️🎀
Hi supper easy
Love it…. So simple… I don’t have a machine, maybe I can sew it with a needle.
Yes you can! It might take you a bit but you can totally do this by hand. Send pics! I would love to see. Happy sewing.
@@SewAnastasia thank you 😊
THANK 😊 YOU 👍😆🤣👏!
Thank you too for watching :)

Good morning,
You inspired me to take the plunge & I ordered my 1st sewing machine. So far I’ve made 3 pillow cases that turned out well! Your explanations & videos are easy to follow. Question on this pattern what is the size range? I’m an XL but also would love to make one for my daughter (size girl 7)
Kaili Monroe the pattern comes in an xs-xxl . Great question! I’ll add that to the description
Hi Anastasia, I new to your channel and I was wondering if I could use linen to make the shift dress.
You totally can!
I'm a beginner sewer can you do more simple ones like this? I love this dress i'm going to add pockets.
You can totally add pockets!!! I have two videos for pockets. Patch pocket or side seam pockets!
Thanks for this video! If I’m using linen, should I bias tape the arm and neck holes or are the fold over seams fine?
You can do either one. The bias binding or facing is the nicest look if you are trying to go for a higher end look.
❤❤❤❤❤

Amazing video, thanks for showing us how to do this. I am a beginner, and have only made lined tote bags so this looks loke a perfect first clothing attempt.
I think we call a serger an overlocker i the UK.... maybe.... whatever that is, I definitely want one. The finish is completely LUSH!! Have a great day. X
This is a great project for beginners! It had 4 seams & you can wear it! Lol yes y’all totally call it an overlocker! You need to add one to your sewing room for sure! Happy sewing! Tag me in your project when you make one!
Ooooo love how you have used these weights to hold down your pattern. I like this pattern and will work with what I am trying to achieve. I am wanting to make some outfits for roller stating at the rink. I will use this pattern but would like to add some slits on the side (Do you think this would work with this pattern?) I will wear the dress with leggings while skating.
Super cute! yeah you can totally make slits on the sides. Send pics!!!
Hi there! If I use a cotton fabric without a ton of movement, should I add darts to the front? If I add darts, do I also add length to the front pattern piece?
You do not need to add darts for woven fabric. Watch my other shift dress video too where I use a woven fabric and add pockets. ruclips.net/video/Xjo3zpPT4IE/видео.html
Hello I like your sewing videos
I was wondering do you or can you create a video on quilting your own fabric using quilted fabric to make a bomber jacket or a thick layer coat or explain plz and thx u
Totally! I love that idea!

I purchased the shift dress but when I download it and try to print I only get a corner of the dress. Please advise and thank you!
I just sent you an email
Love this video and thinking about making this. Although just checking before I go and buy the pattern - the description says it’s free? But website says $10? Am I going doolally? 😅💖 thank you x
I don’t think it says it’s free anywhere. Let me know where it says that so I can fix it. Thank you
@@SewAnastasia it says it in the description of the video - "Anastasia Chatzka shows you how in her new sewing tutorial and it even comes with a free pattern you can print at home! "
@@michelebarnes884 sorry my video guy must have listed it wrong . I’ll fix it thanks for catching that
Is this beginner friendly? How many yards are needed?
Very very beginner friendly. 1-2 yards
Those specs looks amazing
Thank you 😊
Hi
I’m new to the sewing world I’m like a real beginner My question is … What was the fabric used and is it winter friendly
I used a sweatshirt fleece & yes it’s winter friendly 🎀🎀🎀
@@SewAnastasia Thank you for responding. I find your videos super helpful. Do you have any suggestions for a beginner with choosing a sewing machine

I’m new at this and am having trouble navigating
Navigating what?
@@SewAnastasia i’m having a hard time navigating through the app like where you put links and different things. I watched a video on how to do that and sometimes in some of the videos I’m still struggling to navigate through there correctly and find different things so I started watching other videos to show me how to navigate through your videos lol.
I need a printer!

I am sorry to comment on this but ragggedy nail polish is very distracting. Especially different bright colors. It kept me from enjoying the video as much as I could have. You are not the only person to do this but it was so bright !
Hagrids Mom lol no worries. Happy sewing
Wow .. rude. She is trying to teach you something for free and then you say something so judgy... “raggedy nail polish” if something distracts you, that’s a personal problem.
@@amyrodriguez1173 thank you 🙏 😊
I love how hands tell a story. Chipped polish means busy hands. It means you work hard. Nothing wrong with not being perfectly polished all time. ❤
Like others say how rude I had to watch it a second time just to see the nails as I hadn't noticed them first time I was actually interested in a very easy and practical make. perfect nails mean nothing to me apart from the fact the person with perfect nails doesn't do much you'd definitely hate my nails Ive done lots sewing for many many years for myself and others I'm also a cyclist and do my own maintenance on my bikes and I'm also a cleaner as my job and as long as my nails are not jagged. Or dirty when I sew for myself or others that's fine by me how does patchy nail polish distract from the garment cutting and construction I fail to understand your criticisms no one in this world looks perfect and shouldn't have to either ,this is a video about how to make a nice simple versatile dress of which I've made a few my advice is concentrate on the garment not the hands
