    After settling, how much rake did you end up with on the 2.5” setting? I have a 23 with max tow and still want to have a slight rake for when I’m towing occasionally.

      Thanks. I used a Milwaukee M12 Hackzall. I’ve wanted one for a while and that cut felt like a good enough reason to go buy one. Worked awesome with a fine toothed steel blade.

    Thank you for the info. Unfortunately when RUclipsrs speak to the camera with their face in the shot like a newscaster my brain shuts off so if you answered this question in the video I apologize for asking it, but how did the alignment go? Did you need to buy the lower control arm camber bolts that a lot of other videos talk about? Half the videos say you need them and the other half don’t even mention them? Thanks

    I have just purchased the same shock set for my ‘21 F150 KR Powerboost. You mention in your video that you ran into difficulty when replacing the passenger side front shock. I checked and it appears that the inner of the 3 nuts that secures the shock to the frame will be a problem getting at and removing due to a mounting bracket for the hi voltage cable above the shock. I would be very interested in hearing how you worked around this problem so I can be better prepared.

    How is your ride quality after the upgrade? I keep reading mixed results from everyone. I mainly drive roads with gravel roads here and there. Some people say they get a stiffer ride after adding these and some say it's improved and way better. Obviously it depends how high you lift the front as well.

    • @ufukedup

      It gets stiffer in a good way. The truck feels more controlled on bumps rather than bouncing around like crazy.

    Great video. I’ve been waiting for this one. 👍🏻 I keep seeing comments in forums about how certain F150 suspension upgrades aren’t supported on the F150 PB. Any idea why some suspension setups aren’t supported? Is the Bilstein setup you selected officially supported with the F150 PB?

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  Год назад +1

      I think a lot isn’t supported simply because they don’t want people monkeying around trying to access around the high voltage wiring. I don’t know if the Bilstein setup is officially supported or not.

    • @klvanzu
      @klvanzu Год назад +2

      This Bilstein 6112 is not supported for the Powerboost because of the extra weight the PB carries over a comparable 5.0v8 or 3.5v6, hence why he didn't get the advertised lift here. Bilstein is coming out with a specific 6112 for the PB in the near future (so they told me a few months ago).

  • @hahaadventures4838

    My opinion is IF you’re gonna lift your truck go BIG. I always do 4”-8” on a minimum of 37’s up to 40’s. That way Trail damage is unlikely unless you get very careless!

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  Год назад +1

      Fair but my problem with 4-6” lifts is then overhead practicality becomes problematic with home garage, parking structures, tree canopies, and makes using the bed much more difficult. Everything has its trade offs I suppose.

      @@GearsGadgets once you wheel on some 38’s deflated and some Fox shocks, you’ll never go back. Used to have a SXS but got sick of eating dirt, broken belts and broken suspension parts. Only advantage to a SXS is it’s smaller size. I live in northern AZ and go off road every other weekend.

    Howdie, to achieve a true level look for the powerboost would you have to add a puck style spacer to the 6112? Would you recommend that for the leveled look or is typically a no-no in this application?

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  Год назад

      I think if you start considering that kind of scenario you should just start looking at an actual BDS 4”. If you do too much with a coil over lift plus spacers I think things would start getting kind of wonky.

    • @BoostedBoyd
      @BoostedBoyd Год назад

      the answer is yes. You can get a true level with a spacer and 6112. Is it something you should do? No. Is it ok to run a spacer with that kit? Yes. But to get a true level you will be stressing out other components. On my truck I wanted to run 34 inch tires without removing the crash bars or major trimming. So I run the 6112's on stock height and a 2.5 inch spacer. Only a minor trim on the air damn. Virtually unnoticeable. I do have just a slight rake but not much. Think there's around a 1/2 inch diff from back to front. IMO a slight rake looks and performs better then a true level anyway. Hope that helps

    Heard of this bilstein is very stiff and bumpy rough ride off road,,, is it true ???

    • @GearsGadgets
      @GearsGadgets  Месяц назад

      I don't think its "Bumpy" but its also not a Hugh end reservoir shock (fronts) so they are "stiff" because they are intended NOT to blow through the travel and bottom out like factory "bouncy" shocks will. So they are absolutely better than stock but I think some of that criticism is coming from people who are expecting a much more high end shock out of an affordable option.
