Great Video! The wheel well liners took me about 30 min a side on my 2012 F-150. Great addition though. Here are some more accessories to consider: - Storage box for under rear seat (trust me, though large, the Swing Cases only hold so much!). They make these for trucks with and without a subwoofer. - Mudflaps, front and back - Catch Can, as mentioned below, if you are running an Ecoboost - lights for the truck bed (the upper brake light can be woefully inadequate). - tail gate release dampener (if you are not running a truck new enough for a remote tailgate). - Insulating strip for around the rear tailgate. When you run a tonneau cover and tend to hit a lot of dirt roads, you will be amazed at how much dust is sucked into the rear truck bed. Adding a strip of insulation (like you would use on a house door) seals the airspace and closes the leaks between gate and bed. - Tie down hooks that fit into the top of the bed rails in the provided recesses.
A floppy antenna might be annoying but I'd still want one at the factory length. Perhaps somebody makes a stiffer one? The reason you'd want a factory length antenna is that then top is approximate 2 inches above your roof line. When you're in a parking garage with low ceilings, the antenna will hit first before your cab.
I just bought a 2022 F150 XLT Sport FX4, 3.5L, and your list of things to add to the truck are spot on with my own thinking. Excellent video. So many other vids are saying "looks great" or "looks cool" and you don't. You are simply giving us some very practical and useful things. I have a 2021 f150 XL It didn’t come with skid plates. I think the FX packages come with the metal skid plates. I have what appears that most trucks come with an EGG carton type material that seems to be sprayed with bed liner. (Splash Guard not skid plate) Fell apart in the snow..Ford does not make a metal exact fit replacement. I bought a metal skid plate from Ford that goes to Raptors. Fits but front brackets don’t line up to frame slots. For $50 more I bought metal rather than EGG carton garbage for $120… so far so good!
Instead of the boxes in the bed I put the flip over bed extender love this thing. Had one on my last 5 F-150's. Also rain gutter moldings was a first in chrome

I tint my windshields 70% with premium top tier tint. It only makes it look slightly darker on the outside, from inside can’t tell the difference at night

Could of used your Ford points from purchase of your truck, and got the swing cases for free. I used some of my points for a dash cam that ford hardwired in for me

With my truck only a few days out; I ordered several attachments lastnight. Husky was a brand I ordered from (mud gaurds). I might get the well liners now. Also I forgot about the antenna! I have a "highway products" pick-up-pack in my drive way so I won't be needing the swing compartments. One thing I ordered, I've actually never purchased is an AVS hood protector. It adds to the look really well. Check it out. I got the Aeroskin II.
I put that antenna on my truck about a week into having it because it was smacking my garage door on the way into the garage and I was afraid it was going to get caught up on the way out and rip it right off the truck so off it went in the little rubber ducky is on there now I haven’t even tried because I never listen to regular radio anyway.
Is that Oxford White? I love the white with the chrome package. It looks so classy and premium. So many people love the black trim, no chrome "sport" look, and that's fine I think they look decent too, but to my eyes, it's a budget look. I'm 50, maybe it's a generational thing.

How is the install of the console safe? I really like the Swing Cases. But I also love the WeatherTech window shades. Until I get a topper - I'll be sleeping in the cab during hunting trips.
The Swing Away tool boxes are out in the open and easy for someone to break into them in seconds. At $400 for a pair they are more than double the cost of putting in a underseat storage tray in the rear of the cab. Agree with the use of Quiksnap window shades which are a perfect fit.

Those Husky wheel liners are interesting items, I didn't know they existed so I'll have to check them out. Have you seen the work boxed by a company called Decked? @@GearsGadgets In one their videos a guy loads his dirt bike onto of the boxes so it is possible. However, I ride a RKS and know you have Heritage, both of which are a lot heavier than a dirt bike! So I get where you're coming from with not wanting to take up the space in your truck bed.

A LOT of work lol. I think I just used needle nose pliers to pull the spring back and dropped the nickels a few times. It wasnt without a few cuss words sprinkled in for sure.
I worked for the Govt. for 25 years and had to put up with cheap plastic ,breakdowns and horrible rides by Chevy trucks as they had the Govt. contract . My only salvation was at the end of the day ,getting into my Ford F150 and having a smooth quite ride home !!!
my f-150 Lariat, I installed an air bag under the drivers seat..... yet retain the factory stock suspension. Just more proof car makers don't know what the hell they are doing . . . . . . .

Lol it nice to not have to clean floor mats caked in dirt. I like jus pulling out spraying them off and being clean. How does yalls tint level work? For us in South Texas, 70% is basically nothing but helps with Uv rays, 50% is still pretty light, 35% is tinted but light, 20% is a nice dark enough tint but light enough for the day, 5% is like limo, can’t see in

I just bought a similar truck with the back up tow guidance. Do you know if we can use both the sticker and/or the yaw sensor? I did not get either with the purchase and when I asked the service department at the dealer they were clueless. He literally told me I am the first person to ask him this question. I hate when that happens. Any help is appreciated. P.S. I had to buy this truck in Phoenix, San Diego had no stock.

My Tonneau cover used spring loaded vertical handles to release it from the bed. Do you know if the swing cases will get in the way of the Tonneau cover handles while closed? Making it more difficult to release and attach? My ford bed extender got in the way of this when folded.
I’m not too sure honestly. Being that the motor has direct and port injection I’m not too sure how much I have to worry about oil build up. Still have some learning to do with this twin turbo setup.
Wondering if Ford provided you a place to connect an earth ground when using your pro power? And is it mentioned in the owner’s manual? Not a wise move to constantly use power tools and such without driving a ground rod at each work site. GFI outlets will provide protection as well but the best way to go is with a driven ground rod AND GFI outlets.
@@robertlarrabee9115 I know from experience that when I connect my Honda generator to my Airstream the on board protection system on the Airstream for electrical connections indicate ground fault, there is a by-pass switch I can use because of the floating ground. When connected to the F-150, It shows all is good "NO FAULTS" so I would assume it is getting ground somewhere. I DO NOT have to use the bypass switch for it to work.
@@Ferdara Ground fault interrupters work fine without an earth ground. They are currently allowed by the electrical code as a means of protection for ungrounded systems. However, if you check the installation instructions for most portable generators you should find instructions for driving an earth ground rod. There is a difference between ‘working’ and working correctly. Think of it as the difference between plugging a 3 prong device into a 2 hole outlet using an adapter. It’ll work until someone gets bit.
@@Ferdara I did find a good article on when portable generators need to grounded with an earth ground. When connected to corded devices such as power tools or small appliances no earth ground required. The generator frame may serve as the ground. When using to power a home or other structure through a transfer switch then an earth ground must be installed/connected. In either case GFIs must be installed.

Same truck. 5% on everything and 35% on the windshield. Really doesn’t make it any harder at night
They do make clear ceramic for windshields for heat repulsion but maximum visibility.
Don't forget mud flaps. Keeps the sides cleaner ! 😃
I swapped out my antenna also in my '19 F-150 in order to keep it from dragging on my garage door when I go in and out.

I had that console wall come already installed in my raptor and I never used it I do have handguns but I don’t usually carry them around in my truck.

I don’t know why they don’t make wheel well liners standard it’s cheap and gives the truck a more finished look.
I think if you have a darker truck that they're not really needed. The bed is aluminum, so it's not going to rust.
The swing case where did you get them from? I like not having to drill extra holes into the truck.

Swing cases lock to the installed frame and the lids lock as well. Would be 10x easier to break a window and steal contents out of the cab.
The dodge is better looking. The mirrors look so cheap. Is ok I always buy trailor tow mirrors. Dodge comes with wheel liners. Dodge has the ram box.

So, I finally installed the Builtright latch but now the bottom seat will not lock in the down position and fix for this??

I think it may be a floating ground like when using a portable generator.
@@Ferdara No earth ground then there is no ground, only a return path to the source. If they haven’t all ready the NEC will get involved.

When connected to the F-150, It shows all is good "NO FAULTS" so I would assume it is getting ground somewhere. I DO NOT have to use the bypass switch for it to work.
@@Ferdara Ground fault interrupters work fine without an earth ground. They are currently allowed by the electrical code as a means of protection for ungrounded systems. However, if you check the installation instructions for most portable generators you should find instructions for driving an earth ground rod. There is a difference between ‘working’ and working correctly. Think of it as the difference between plugging a 3 prong device into a 2 hole outlet using an adapter. It’ll work until someone gets bit.
@@Ferdara I did find a good article on when portable generators need to grounded with an earth ground. When connected to corded devices such as power tools or small appliances no earth ground required. The generator frame may serve as the ground. When using to power a home or other structure through a transfer switch then an earth ground must be installed/connected. In either case GFIs must be installed.

Did your truck come with the tie-downs? I didn't notice them. Maybe you don't have any use for them because your swing case is covering the Boxlink.
It did come with them. The swing cases don’t let you use the tie downs in the rear but I do still have them in the front.
