dool for the city..
Fool for the City is the fifth studio album by English rock band Foghat, released on September 15, 1975. This was their first platinum album and features, along..
I am from the graduating class of 1975 and it’s a great song 🎶. Who’s still listening 👂 to this wonderful song? I’m 68 years old and only listen 👂 to great music 🎼 that…Rocks!!!
Class of 77. 😁🤠
This dude. Saw them in 1979.
Class of '74. Man, we had a lot of great music!
Class of '75. Got to see them in '74. What a fantastic show!
I graduated with class of ‘75 and we were listening to the “Energized” album that year. I could be wrong, but I don’t think “Fool for the City” came out until the fall of that year after we had graduated. “Energized” has always been my favorite album. The original Foghat lineup was awesome. 👍👏
I was 12 years old and the Foghat Live album changed my life
Me too!
I was 8
I had the rare privilege of being a roadie for Foghat for just one night at a really small venue (400 people maximum capacity) in Western Colorado in September of 1999. After we set up the little stage, me and my coworkers put on 'staff' shirts and became the security, standing up at the front of the room, with Dave Peverett, Roger Earl, Tony Stevens, and Rod Price all rocking out only five feet behind us. Good times, amazing music!
Sadly Lonesome Dave Peverett was gone, kidney cancer, only a few months later. I will never forget his stage performance and how he was so kind to all of the staff and us roadie grunts. I'll never forget-just before we did a sound check, Dave asked me to go get his personal Les Paul guitar off of their tour bus. I said, 'It'd be an honor!'
I'm 65 now and still Rock&Rolling till the day I die!
Lonesome Dave was one of the most talented rockers of all time. RIP
I'm 76 and loving this group all !!!!
Have all of their albums!! I'm talking vinyl. Yes, I'm that old. 😂😂😢
Perfect remedy to John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High."
They were a super group with so many great songs
Glad I grew up when this was popular! Good cruising music!
Not only did I grow up with it like you, I was lucky enough to be in cover bands (bass player) and got to actually play this song. It was a wonderful time, and from time to time, I get to relive my youth 71 now).
The best crushing music. Foghat never put out shitty music.
Saw them open for Triumph Allied Forces tour. 4th row, dead center. Both bands were phenominal. Slow Ride almost 15 minutes of pure heaven
I saw you!
Rod Price was such a criminally under-rated guitar player it's not even funny.
Total badass
I don't know about that
Lonesome Dave’s songs like this one, Fool for the city are deceptively simple. They are not that easy to play correctly. He was a huge talent.
Saw them several times back in the day. When I'm feeling nostalgic, I pop in the DVD " Foghat Live, Two Centuries of Boogie" It's a great show!!!
Saw them on this tour in 75. Bass player Craig MacGregor was new to the band. I remember him just kind of standing in one spot bobbing his head all night. Lonesome Dave had such a great voice. Hard to believe that the drummer here is the only one still alive.
My dad seen these guys in 1977. I seen them in 2003 opening for Alice Cooper Sanford FL. The drummer was the only member there. Just like you said. They sounded good for the most part but, not like this band.
What a live performance.
I also saw this tour. They opened for Black Oak Arkansas.
Graduated H.S. in 73. This brings back memories.
One of the great Rock and Roll songs of all time
I caught Foghat & Boston on both they're first tours.I'm lucky I was born at the right time to be able to see all these supergroups in they're prime.
their
@@cuu4334 TY, punctuation is important.
Don't forget about Geezers bass! He's in perfect time with Bill. Tremendous band!
I am a guitar player and a tone chaser, what a great tone I love real musicians!!!
1974 grad & still rockin
It does not get any better than Foghat Live firing on all cylinders. Great band. Totally under appreciated, they had no hype machine behind them so a forgotten gem of a band from the 70's and 80's. Dave, Rod, Roger, Tony & Craig, Thanks for all the great music. The so-called Rock N Roll Hall of Fame should be ashamed. Money grubber elitists---F---You!
thank you...........
70’s Classic Rock was the Best 👍‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Saw them in ‘75 for $5 main floor. Awesome. Back when people came before profits in the music industry. 😮
Yea, back in the day when you didn't have to take out a loan to see a band.
@@Floridafisherman5000 I still don't understand why so many people practically will go to such lengths to see a band, most of them past their prime. I'm content to save the $$$ while listening to my albums as well as watching RUclips. Especially nowadays..
I was 12 and loves this show with the wolfman. Don Kirshnwr too
I saw these guys in Virginia during rhe 70s. They were smoking hot during that period
Greatest 70's rock and roll band of all time! I personally think they rock better than Skynard and the Stones. They're so underrated today its insane!
My Dad seen Foghat January of 1977 Tampa Curtis Hall. Rick Derringer opened up. I asked him how it was. He said Son women were passing out all over the place on Quaaludes and Coke. The show was good.
Ah the 70's.
November, 1975 at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago with Black Oak Arkansas and Montrose.
Kick ass music!
One of the all time best rocking bands ever!
Saw them in '73...Rare Earth was the headliner, but Foghat stole the show.
Far out!
Makes me smile
Loved Foghat
Lonesome Dave was the man. Pedal to the metal
That is some serious jamming by a very underrated and underappreciated band. Saw them live in the late 70s and lost my hearing for about a week 😂. Thank you for posting.
Same here. One of the loudest shows I ever saw. Good times! 🙂
Saw this lineup in ‘77 with James Gang and Montrose.
Love the guitar!!!!!
Listen to the "Foghat Live" album that came out in the 70's. They were unbelievable! Rod and Dave's playing was a textbook lesson in FACE MELTING rock guitar. And Roger Earl on drums and Craig Peverett were an absolutely monstrous rhythm section. Grooved their asses of and they did it with AUTHORITY and POWER. Another thing, they knew how to dramatically use dynamics which is seemingly a lost art today. Stupendous album! BUY IT and play it LOUD....RIGHT NOW!!!
This whole album is a masterpiece, even the cover art to Fool For The City. FOGHAT FUCKING ROCKED N FUCKING ROLLED ✌️☣️
Love this and was third time lucky
This was great, exciting music. Now, we seem to only have Sailor Twift, who is relatively boring.
Rock classic..to0
Super ending
Rock and roll good Colombian weed getting b*** j*** in a 74 Camaro life was sweet
Rock. Period ➡️⏺
YEAHHHHHHHHH
They were great. Saw them back then, too. Good show.
I was a still a kid when this came out but I was old enough to attend my first concert when the new wave hit.
What an album!
I saw them with UFO in 77, bands that actually could write a good song.
I'm 69 I'm listening
TY REMEBER FOGHAT
best college music!
As cool as it get 60s child hard rock candy baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1975 Thanksgiving Break, Freshman dorm, all alone. Called into the local radio station (AM) and requested "Fool For the City". AND THEY PLAYED IT. Danced like a maniac! And then next year the "Foghat Live" album came out. Not a flashy band like Yes, ELP, or even The Who. But solid blues rock.
🧡🎵🧡♥️♥️♥️♥️
I need to share this story and many others while I am still on earth. It was 1975 in a small North Texas town. I LOVED Dairy Queen! My Mom drove us to grab some dinner to take home. I think my Mom was working at the time. My Dad worked for a major airline and worked odd shifts. I am 14 going on 15 and the chick at the register (maybe 18) I ask her what her favorite band is and she says Foghat. This chick is trying to hook up with me... giving me her number with my Mom there. I was a VIRGIN. How stupid I was back then. She was hawwwt.
she wanted to be your drivin' wheel! at 14, how the hell would you know? lol
@@craigrheberling
??? I fathered my first child at 14....now she is 50 and a lawyer. Her mom and I still get along.
@@mr.d.4175 perfect!
8 track Camaro flashback!
You should of bought a T/A bro
It gets no better
....may 76'...Detroit......Foghat wiped the floor with Aerosmith and Ted........
RIP, Dave and Rod.
And craig macgregor
Ì saw Foghat in 1999 at a Salt Lake dive called Coronas Bar. Rob Price was playing the Bass instead of lead. His handle bar mustache was cool. They were so coke, d up it was in front of 35 people. Top 5 concerts I sèen.
🎼 Rod Price was a good guitarist!
The ending solo is quite epic 🎸🎵
Foghat was THE BAND to go see live . Saw them in77, my first rock concert, will remember that night till I doe
My first concert as well!!
Cakeep
Excelente solo de guitarra magistral

I think this is later than 1975. 1977 maybe?
was that the album track, or a special videotaped, live performance? it seems like they're on a practice stage.

Craig McGregor was a great choice to replace Tony Stevens and Nick Jameson. Craig and Tony were a day apart in age.
Dave Walker kicked butt!
No Dave Walker here
Cats are jamming!!
Nick Jameson on base?
Hawaii, 78 I think, maybe 79, no definitely 78, was dating a disco queen (now wife) by 79 - she doesn’t appreciate solid rock
They ain’t the same without Tone Stevens
Yoi
I thought rock star was a video game.
Back then, the film crews had the attitude that the band consisted of 3 musicians. So no need to cover the guy in the back. He’s not part of the band. “He’s just a drummer. No body cares.” 🤨
KICK ARSE!
YOU PARTY NO ONE CARED
Passed me by. Listening to Van Morrison, Bob, Little Feat, Allmans, Doobies, Cooder, JJ Cale, etc in the 70’s. Only vaguely recall Foghat’s name. Seem like a cross between Free, Led Zep? Plenty energy, beat, lead guitar stuff. Good at what they do, but just don’t hear much originality. Sorry. On balance, pref Rory Gallagher’s axe.
I GRADUATED IN 1973 MESA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL HOME OF THE TROJANS, OJO CALIENTE NEW MEXICO USA 🇺🇸. WE ROCKED BACK IN THE DAY. HALLELUJAH. PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
FOGHAT.
TREMENDA BANDA DE ROCK CON ESTILO PROPIO INCONFUNDIBLE.
CLASICO POR SIEMPRE.
