I used to watch the Midnight Special, it was one of the best venues to watch bands perform live and to evaluate whether or not to purchase concert tickets when the bands came to our geographic area. It was a good resource to view bands performing live, and we could frequently see them perform more than just two songs like on some other shows like on the Ed Sullivan Show, and many of the other variety shows. Another great show was Don Kirshner’s, which is where I first saw Peter Frampton perform live.
It’s too bad that there currently are no shows on regularly that are similar nowadays. When MTV started up, there were often live shows being broadcast late in the evenings, many of them were punk rock performances, but they were also live, however, that didn’t go on much more than a year, once there were enough music videos to show around the clock, 24/7, unfortunately, there are very few music videos shown on MTV anymore, instead they have reality shows broadcasting much of the day and night, and very little music videos at all.
Thank you for sharing this video and posting it on RUclips!
Please have an excellent and awesome day!
      ☀️✨🎸

Saw Foghat 8 times. But, I saw everyone at least a half dozen times. That's all we did.I only saw the Stones twice and wish I'd seen them many more times,75,80. Zep 4 times, Sabbath 4 times, first time in 70. In fact, what's got me thinking of all this is that I found a box of ticket stubs. It's a trip down memory lane. I could go on an on. 70's were pure and fun, people still had innocence and wonder for the world we live in, not contempt and self absorption. People lived their life in the present and their surroundings, not detached and pre-occupied with personal "devices". You have to have lived it know the real difference from then until now. The band were pretty much ignored here in their native UK but thankfully our US cousins gave them the attention they deserved. On storming form here. Their 'Fool for the City' album is a classic and it was a pity that 'Foghat Live' only ran to a single LP. 70s music is the gift that keeps on giving.

This is fucking awesome!! I remember in February 2000 when Dave Peverett had passed. I was 28 years old and in active duty Air Force stationed at Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia. That Monday night, I had just gotten off work at the Fuels Receiving Facility. Bus came to pick me and my fellow troops up and take us back to the dorms. Bus had "Slow Ride" playing on the Musak system. After the song ended, the deejay came on and announced Dave's passing. Really great to see everybody so young here and just jamming away on the guitars and drums! RIP Dave and say "Hi" to my mom for me. 🎸
