Yeah, he is sort of like the forgotten slide guitar player. Rarely mentioned in slide guitar player lists. Had a great style. If you get the chance check out some of their 90's and 00's shows on YT -- there's one in particular when he was playing with Foghat (Dave, Rod, Earl, and a bass guy I can't remember), it's some fairground show in the Midwest -- pro shot, stereo sound. Just as good as we see here. They still had it. Drivin' Wheel, Slow Ride. It's kickass.
Road Fever kicks ass. One of the greatest rock and roll bands Foghat was! Love it when Dave plays straight lead guitar and Rod plays the same melody on slide. Amazing!

First car ever owned - '70 1/2 Z28 - radio delete - wired up a quadrophonic 8-track deck in it thou only had 2 'real quad' tapes for it 'so far'. That deck had a synth button for added simulation of 'non-quad'. Was kinda like the old Sansui Synthesizers. Pluggered Foghat in n hit the synth - WOW lemme just say - those 4 big ol 30oz n 20oz magnet speaks ( 2 in back shelf - 2 just lyin under the front seats - aint cuttin kick panels nor would they fit anyways ) thru that quad synth was drivin this bands diff signals all over the innerds couldnt b beat for the time. Everyone i knew were soon into em - huge school - huge amt. of humans - all into rock - ran out n' gotta copy of that LP or tape asap. Back in the 70's lucky enuff to see em 5 times at big venues within range - these guys 'always' rocked the house down ! By the way one of the best 'factory quad' tapes ever and had quite a few from those days due to havin a quad deck in house too ......." Aerosmith - Rocks " - the cut of 'Back In The Saddle' was undoubtedly way beyond 4-dimensional.
Saw them live at Winterland in SF in the mid 1970's. They opened for Ruben and the Jets, the Zappa spin-off band. It was a great show. One thing I remember was that Foghat was one of the loudest bands I ever heard...... but in a good way.
I remember their live album in the 1970s with Slow Ride was very good. Good blues, boogie rock.
Gracias por compartir esta joya una de las mejores bandas de rock de todos los tiempos y una de mis favoritas foghat live
Foghat one of my favorite bands! I remember staying up late to catch this performance. What a band!
Rod Price was definitely one of the best slide guitarists in Rock at that time. Neither he nor Foghat got the credit they deserved.
Rod bought me a beer in his show in Houston...sat with the whole band during break.
Road Fever kicks ass. One of the greatest rock and roll bands Foghat was! Love it when Dave plays straight lead guitar and Rod plays the same melody on slide. Amazing!
We use to watch this show religiously with our Old English 800 quarts and our dime bag of Colombian from Santa Anna.
brings a tear to my eye, saw this line-up and the same bunch with craig macgregor on bass. we used to have a saying in the group of people i knew, "it's getting a little dull, put some foghat on."
The memories of this great band.
Way back when i was a pup in high school - back in the day of say '73 - used to get those mailings for Columbia Record Club or what not stating the get 10 buy 1 n then 1 every month for a yr. bs - well joined n' snatched up BOC's 'On Yur Feer or On Yur Knees' - Aerosmith - Nazareth and many others - Foghats Rock n' "Bun" was one of em - never even hearin' of em before had chcked it off to complete the order.
Dave took all of the influences and made them his own. Genius vocals frontman extraordinaire
Should be in Hall of Fame
There was a lot of great acts on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert . I was glad to get to see my favorite bands live on the program when I was a kid .
Saw these dudes in '78 and '79.
Kick ass.
I've got the album Foghat Live. Excellent jamming album ....PLAY IT LOUD!!!!!
Saw them live at Winterland in SF in the mid 1970's. They opened for Ruben and the Jets, the Zappa spin-off band. It was a great show. One thing I remember was that Foghat was one of the loudest bands I ever heard...... but in a good way.
Lonesome Dave! They were just good party music. Such a beautiful time in life. 🎉
Imagine. THIS was on major network tv! What a time.
This right here defines rock. Stellar band!
Great live band
The "Real" Foghat : )
Yes, not Roger Earls cover band ! nothing against Roger Earl .
Rod Price was the most Underrated player of all time. Lonesome Dave Preveret was Tremendous also.
Was lucky to see Rod Price with Foghat back in the day. It was a Halloween night show in Kansas City, with Blue Oyster Cult and Pat Travers Band supporting. Ah, those WERE the days!
Lucky to have seen them in concert 6 times in the 70s. The sounded just like their records. Even saw them fly into the local airport in their Foghat lear jet. Coolest shit ever.
Foghat and Lonesome Dave, awesome!!
I used to LOVE this show as kid.
Damn I miss the old days.
This is when Rock and Roll was….well, Rock and Roll!!🤟
Hattip Savoy Brown
It must be acknowledged
I saw both luckily as a late ten early early 70s
Raw sienna.........favorite
Fogjat - THEEEEE BEST!!
Went and saw Foghat several times in the seventies. Tickets were $5. Their songs were always on the radio then. April Wine toured with them a bit, I think.
Saw them in “78” Judas Priest, BTO and Foghat headlining. Pretty badass lineup for your first concert in Dallas Tx.
David - Was it a Texas Jam? Summertime at the Cotton Bowl
Foghat rocked, I use to listen to them everyday one of greatest bands!
The summer of 74 all you heard was Foghat Energized and Aerosmith Get your wings. I was just turning 18 and man was life good!
Saw these guys twice in Kansas City. Both times the original band and they were very good...
I saw Foghat perform in the 70’s. Great show.
Saw these guys 4 times in the 70s. Good times.
Saw them and Black Oak Arkansas at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino in 1975; good times!
Damn! Great performers all!
