Music history right here. I was 22 then, Foghat toured relentlessly back then, they came to town every year like the circus. Never missed a show and was never disappointed. It's weird though, this priceless piece of video has only 6,793 views (aug 2019) and other worthless tripe on youtube has millions. Consider yourself fortunate if you run across this gem.

@@davib7534 They played some serious rock and roll. Incredible energy onstage and the audience fed off it right with them. I remember one tour when they were paired up with J. Geils Band. What a freakin' party that was. I didn't come down from that high for a week, lol. Ah, those were the days my friend. Priceless memories. Take care, stay well, and rock on.

This is historic gold. Dave's voice was just right for this band and its brand of music. Rod Price's slide work
was priceless. Roger Earl and Craig MacGregor really drove a hard backbeat. A rock band for the ages.
Man, am I glad Paul Butterfield agreed to appear here. Butterfield was never a slouch when it came to performing
live but the boys really pushed him here. Paul was, is and will always be the man.

This is pure gold, so often we say this band and that band "should" be in the RnR HOF... Foghat "needs" to be in the RnR HOF what they did here on this night is more than the RedHotChiliPeppers ever did or Blondie, what the FcK did either of those bands ever do compared to this? Nothing!!! Not a damn thing! Thank you Foghat for being true to the blues and the music that made RnR what it is...!

Me, well I still enjoy that fifth album by FogHat which is Fool For The City. As a senior in HS and a few years on, I performed Fool, Home in My Hand, and Slow Ride as a singer in my garage band. Now at 64 I play "Take It or Leave It" on my acoustic for fun and peace. Lonesome Dave was exceptional, my favorite player, and the FogHat musicians especially Rod the Bottle were just over the top. >>you know, rock and roll _R

I was at this concert with my pal Billy Rockaway Nd we thought it would be a foghat concert but what we got was this blues tribute with the greats with a lot of musicians I’d not heard of ( I was 17 and just finding my way in the world of rock and roll) and so now I have the privilege and bragging rites to say that I actually saw Muddy Waters and I believe Edgar Winter or Johnny Winter along with all the other greats. I tell my friends about this long forgotten show all the time and it’s so cool to see this post and to actually see that nite again

Geez... I bought a coworker just before Christmas a Secret Santa present, a book, "The Blues..A Visual History, by Mike Evans"... but due to COVID, we did a video meeting with the rest of my coworkers. It was embarrassing when we had the meeting because the goddang Postal Service lost the book in the mail! Everyone had a present except my coworker, so I immediately ordered another one from Amazon which he received in a few days.. the Postal Service eventually delivered the same book about a month later. So he finally mailed it to me and just got literally 3 hrs ago tonight. Going through this great book, it reminded of going to the Palladium in 1977 as a 16 yr old to go so see Foghat. As a young naive teenager, I was expecting to hear Slow Ride, Fool for the City, but me and my friends walked into a great blues performance. It was an awesome show and this is a great find.

Great film, I wonder what ended up on the cutting room floor? Every frame is priceless. I was living only a few miles from Eddie Kirkland's last show at the Dunedin Brewery in Dunedin Florida. I planned on going to the show but got the night mixed up and missed it. The morning after the show I saw on the news that Eddie Kirkland died in a auto accident about 50 miles north of Dunedin. Only a year before his death at age 86 Eddie played on Foghat's Last Train Home album, what a gem of a performance. RIP to all those who were on stage that night and are no longer with us.

The black and white photograph at 38:24, was taken at a regular meeting of blues fans who found each other through the letters page of Record Mirror, and met regularly to discuss and share 45rpm American blues singles they imported, since they were not available in the UK. It shows not only Mick and Keith, behind Lonesome Dave's introduction to Muddy Waters, but the ebullient Harry Simmonds, an encyclopaedia of blues/rhythm & blues, Kim Simmonds' seven years older brother, main influencer, and manager of Savoy Brown, Chicken Shack, and Christine Perfect.
