In the early 2000s, I purchased a Fender GA45-SCE, made in Korea. It had a solid top and back with laminated sides. It had a rosewood wood. It had a few quality control issues but a great luthier took care of all that. It grew with age and became an amazing guitar. I doubt Fender does a guitar as good as that one today. You can find them online for around $300 or so. I wish I still had mine. It was comparable to a Taylor.

I picked up a Fender CC-60s WN Cedar top in a fortunate Ebay listing last week and it sounds phenomenal. I don't know if the sound is elite, but it sounds fantastic to my ears and inspires me to pick it up and play it just to feel it resonate. I don't know if I got incredibly lucky with the QC, and sound, but I really am impressed with it. It was a discontinued limited edition model, but Fender still have a few on Amazon for new.

My first new electric was a fender.
My first new acoustic was a fender, a Hot Rod acoustic or whatever in 2010.
I still have it and I've played it to death. No issues at all. All original hardware.
Except a bridge pin and I took the electronics out lol
Great guitar. Just purchased one of these as well. Can't wait to get it in

So happy to finally see someone talk about this. For me personally, I find it criminal and extremely infuriating when I see the amount of hate towards Fender acoustics. You'd think they were the same quality as a cheap £30 Amazon guitar given the amount of abuse they get from the entire guitar community.
Well I happen to have a Fender FA-235E and a Fender Newporter and I love them both so much! In fact, in order to get my Newporter, I exchanged it for my 'much better branded' guitar, one of the top names because I just couldn't get on with it. And when I picked up the Newporter it just sounded and felt so right. So perfect in my hands. I swear by them and would happily recommend them to anyone.
I'm not saying that they're better than the top brands on the market. Just that they don't deserve the heavy criticism they always get.
The Fender acoustics felt right for me. So the best thing you can do is not to base your choice of guitar on brand alone. Take it into account but don't use it as the only thing to help you make your decision. Try a few guitars, regardless of brand names and explore which one feels right for you when it's in your hands and when you play it.
Great video by the way and have liked and subscribed to your channel. Keep the great content coming 👌.

Inferior to a concert quality guitar? Agree 100%. And of course I've heard them side by side. I did say in my original post that I recognised that.
But so bad that they are like a $30 guitar from Amazon? Oh come on man. Completely disagree! They're not THAT bad and that was my original point. Low action so minimal pain on the fingers, thin neck thus allowing you to move up and down the fretboard quickly. In terms of playability, I'd argue they're great and that's the first thing I've always looked for when buying a guitar in all my years of playing.
But if you're someone looking for sound, then yeah, probably not what you want to go for. But again, even for sound quality, compared to some other brands, they're not as bad as people make out.

@Psycho Creep i have and not really, i mean the upper range Martin and Taylor beat Fender easily, but there lower range is a fair comparison.
i think the Newporter series is there best all around Acoustic they have, some of there budget Acoustics under 300 are not too good on a few i checked.
Yamaha actually makes better budget Acoustics in my opinion, Guild also makes a few good budget Acoustics. with Fender there getting there, but they'll always be better at making Electric Guitars. still the best one's i tried were the Newporter and the Acoustasonic, i actually like that,
but there more like campfire guitars lol.

I just got one. Its cheap chinese garbage. glue exposed around pickguard, the strap peg mount has messy endges. The sides and purfling aren't sanded. Sharp edges all over the guitar including the body. Doesn't even sound like mahogany, sounds like spruce and stinks of chemicals. And to return it fender wants to charge you the cost to ship to you and to ship back plus possibly a restocking fee. FUck Fender. Last guitar I ever buy from this cheap dirtbag company...wow. did i get duped...

I have a Paramount mahogany parlor and I love it. Excellent for recording and like butter to play with. I also have a 214 Taylor I get tired after fingerpicking with for ten minutes even tuning it on D. My paramount brings a delicate nice sound and allows me to play for hours. With a mic and a bit of reverb, heaven.

So I have a cd60 dreadnought. Bought it almost 6 years ago. I think it’s the cheapest proper fender acoustic, I don’t know if there is any solid wood to be honest. Plays like a dream. Sounds very nice to me, it’s my absolute campfire/busking workhorse. Now I should say, it’s a v2. I’ve seen an exact same one just v3 in a store, wouldn’t have given half the v2 money for it. So that being said I’d really like to try out these ones, they look amazing and could be a very nice step up. Cheers!

If you bought it 6 years ago it is all laminated (the current model CD-60S has a solid top but is a bit more expensive, i.e. street price below 200 €). Yet it plays and sounds amazingly good plus the build quality is stellar in the price range (I got min for 99 € in Dec. 2017). The finish of mine is absolutely spotless and even the fret work and the tuners are really good.

IDK why Fender doesn't get more love for its acoustic guitars, especially the MIJ/MIK models (actually IDK why Fender Japan is compared negatively to MIA Fender - the bang-for-buck is phenomenal and Japanese build quality is superb - but I digress).
I have a 1984 MIJ F240a that I bought used in 1996 for $200 with a hardshell case. The workmanship is top-notch and the guitars themselves have features that appear on guitars a couple hundred dollars higher in price: Gotoh tuners ($100 alone!); abalone logo and snowflake fretboard inserts; fully-bound (top, bottom, and sides of body, plus neck and headstock) with 4-layer purfling for the body and headstock; spruce top with mahogany sides (laminate top and back, but still), rosewood fretboard and bridge; and 1-piece mahogany neck. It looks great and sounds great, especially after getting it set up and upgrading the nut, saddle, and pins.
I've owned it for 30 years and just got it re-fretted and had a minor deficiency corrected (one I didn't know about until the luthier noticed it), plus the above upgrades. Luthier says it's good for another 20+ years without worrying about anything as long as I keep doing what I'm doing, which is nothing special; it's been out of its case most of that time, and only recently have I started worrying about ensuring it's properly hydrated.

I took up Acoustic Guitar September 2023. I play piano and Saxophone. From the sales people in Absolute Music Bournemouth. The price had been drop of the whole paramount range from about £700 to £399. I loved the fact that they were all made of solid wood. The parlor I did not appreciate the difference in the size of the body bulges. Reminds me of a female with a big rear. I like my females tall and slender. The dreadnought for my use at home is too big. I chose the OS model. Considered the tone was a little bland and flat. Hence I fitted Phosphorus Bronze silk wrapped medium to light strings and the Paramount OS turned into the guitar I wanted.
I would recommend Absolute Music Bournemouth to anyone wishing to purchase a guitar their staff are so accommodating.

I own a Paramount PM-3 Standard and it is a really decent instrument for the price. Where else do you get an all solid 000 Guitar w/ on-board electronics and a hardshell case for under 600 €?
As to other models in the lower price range (CD-60 and Sonoran Mini that I once bought) I can't say anything negative about the build quality. Although in the budget range (100 - 150 €) they were both of amazing quality even regarding the fret work which is often the weak spot of cheap guitars.
So yes, they are definitely underrated in their price segment.

What happened was they had a terrible reputation in the 90s for offering all laminate entry level acoustics. I started on one and it was just pretty bad but we didn’t have the options we have today. It’s hard to overcome that stigma.

Dude, Fender should hire you for marketing!!!!! A lot of puff in here but a lot of fact that gets overlooked about the history of Fender acoustics. As an acoustic player of over 35 years, I find that gear snobbery is no more prevelant than in the acoustic guitar world. For the 1st 15 years, I was as guilty if not more so than most. My advice, learn your craft and you will make a €100 guitar sound awesome! I'm about to pull the trigger on the dreadnought. Thanks for the review.

I think you should stop to make video with this pickup who do not capture at all the bass sound. The ftequense range are always too hight. All your video are missing the real bass sound of the guitars you tested.
Better to take a better condensate mic i think. It's just an abservation between the others video where they test acoustics guitars... Come on you can do better you are very good player it's a pity to register such a very small sound with this too short mic . 👍😉

Most garbage brand most likely. just received the po-220e mahogany. Its cheap chinese trash like you would expect. Intonation is flat which is weird. Action was at 6/64ths which is ok for me, but the low e buzzes on 2nd and 3rd frets. The frets literally need to be leveled out the box. I saw an amazon review state this but didn't believe it. My 20 year old Martin DX1 has more leveled frets(except high frets on the body). And it doesn't even play any easier than it does. now I have to pay shipping fees to send it back and they might charge a restocking fee? Doesn't even sound like mahogany and smells like chemicals. It has unsanded sides and rough edges, even on the back. even the strap peg is on top of plastic with messy edges just makes the whole thing feel like garbage and I don't know what I was thinking . This video really sold me lmao...

I think this should be Fender Bashing...it is so funny...here in Germany Music Store sells the D-X1e for 477 euros...yesterday I was at the store and take (for the first time) the Martin...it weights a ton and nothing, but really nothing is buildwise or feels on par with my PD-220e (I bought for 390 new) I was satisfied to have my Paramount and not to be in need to buy this concrete block. At home I pet my Fender and said "no worry, you absolute stay with me for a long long time"
