+Saminatorger I don't know a lot about weird chords and scales and keys and whatever that is, I just play songs that I like on my squier strat ._. I should know about stuff like that don't I? (I have been playing for like 3 months, probably around a year if you count me practicing with a shitty no name electric guitar when I was like 11).
Castlemaster712 Well, E is not a "weird chord or scale" it is the key that the song is in which tells you what notes you can and cannot play when improvising a solo (or rather should and should not, the rules are pretty flexible). I would definitely suggest looking up JustinGuitar on RUclips and starting at lesson one learning theory is the biggest thing to help you move from playing someone else's song to playing your own. Good Luck!
Just so happens I wake up and see this video on NEW GEAR DAY! I ordered one of these a few weeks back and got to go pick it up today! Absolutely love my PM-3 deluxe!
I remember I had a Fender F-95 in 1977 and it was superb, one of the best acoustics I have played, really top craftsmanship & timbers.Of course they don't make them anymore, and i lost track of it in the 90's.
A perfect guitar is you can't afford to splurge on a Martin or Gibson. Electronic pick-up, a built-in tuner and a hard-top design. What more could you ask for. Nice work, Fender.
I've seen these in person. they really have their own unique sound. I could definitely see someone using one on conjunction with a Martin to great effect
I have the cutaway the luxe rosewood and sounds amazing. The good notice for the owners of this guitar is that is discontinued from two years ago so the price will grow up with the years.
Robert Whelan I know I’m late to the party here, but I do that exact thing. I play in an acoustic duo pretty often. I play the paramount pm1 deluxe and my partner plays a Martin JC
Kinda blown away!! Not calling you guys liars, just finding it very hard to believe Fender managed to break the solid wood price point by like, 75%.Talk about a game changer.Kudos to Fender! Great vid !!
Came back to this in 2024 to check out the thoughts on this guitar as I have an opportunity to pick up a hardly used second hand unit. Only played laminates till now. Will be my first solid guitar!
+Michael Osztertag Get an all mahogany/mahogany top acoustic if you're looking for a less bright sound. They sound incredible. Lee's guitar has a mahogany back, so that's part of what you're hearing.
How do you think the painted Paramount's sound? Does the paint make a big difference to the sound? I love the look of the black deluxes with the white scratch plates
Funny that the klon ktr, the timmy and the analogman king of tone are in the back in the videos, but not available at andertons. They are all three amazing pedals and since the first time they appeared I am hoping for a comparisonvideo comming up! :)
I bought a Fender T-Bucket a few years ago. I think I paid around $300 new. It has the cut-away like and is a blue/black color. For an affordable foreign made guitar, it sounds fantastic. There is just something about that particular one, maybe the bracing and wood just jived together well or for whatever reason, the mojo just oozes tone. I have had Martin and Taylor owners who will tell me that it sounds every bit as good as their $3000 instruments. Now, of course it doesn't play as well and they'll get me on resale value every time. Other T-Buckets I have tried just sound like what you would expect. It was like Leo Fender reached down (or up) and infused that one guitar with Fender goodness.
The parlor guitar Cap is playing has amazing tone (my ears generally love parlor guitar tones), but this one's really nice. Might get the mahogany version.
I feel like in every video when the cap plays rhythm, he sorta plays quieter so you can hear rob solo-ing...but when the roles reverse, Rob does not extend the same courtesy and he stills plays louder over cap's solo. Idk if it might be a mic thing but I find it harder to hear cap solo.
So sorry to be so pedantic and point this out, as English is your language before it is ours and I suppose you can do with it as you wish, But...The description for all these guitars on the Anderton's website states---"Fender electrics are a popular choice but there acoustic cousins aren't quite so common." -----Shouldn't that read "their acoustic cousins." Truly just trying to be helpful.....Love you guys and can't wait for the Midwest Tour
+Rob Chapman +Captain Crazy question here. Whats the deal with the song Sweet Child of Mine? I've noticed in previous videos that little jabs were made about playing that riff. Just wondering. Many thanks for your time!
Is there a significant sound difference in deluxe and standard, or would it be okay to settle with the standard? I tested the deluxe once in a gutiar store and fell in love with it. But now I'm planning on getting an acoustic gutiar for real, and the deluxe is just slightly on the expensive side.
I noticed when Rob is playing, he constantly moves his mouth from left to right or right to left lol, I've been subscribed for a reasonable amount of time now, really enjoying your video's and seeing your company growing up from the start till now, when is the V comming out? o.O
You two are like brothers, and it's inspiring to see two musicians work together and support each other. Much respect
devondadude420 Just like all the bands and duos in the world.
What a fantastic into jam! Possibly my favourite chaptain jam ever
This is one of my favorite videos you two have done together. I love your acoustic reviews
Chappers and the Cap'n, proudly displaying their wood!
And their guitars....
the fuck!
well that little acoustic jam was fantastic... no surprise of course, just refreshing from a world of pop music to this.
1:44 - Standing ovation.
So happy you guys are doing acoustic stuff!!! Its great.
great intro jam!
Man, that jam in E was great, I was playing along (on my Fender acoustic of course)!
+Saminatorger Fuck me, how has it never occurred to me to Jam with Chappers and el Captain during these videos?
+The10000lbGorilla Haha, it was literally the first time I've ever done it. I kinda want a video where they just jam the whole time.
+Saminatorger

The10000lbGorilla I will look into some tutorials, because when I try to play anything, it sounds awful :p
That jam at the beginning was unreal!
Just so happens I wake up and see this video on NEW GEAR DAY! I ordered one of these a few weeks back and got to go pick it up today! Absolutely love my PM-3 deluxe!
Seven seconds in this became my favourite Cap and Chappers jam
I remember I had a Fender F-95 in 1977 and it was superb, one of the best acoustics I have played, really top craftsmanship & timbers.Of course they don't make them anymore, and i lost track of it in the 90's.

Does a big dreadnought become a Dreadlord?
+Rogue Jellybean Yes
+Rogue Jellybean Do you have to ask?
+Rogue Jellybean wow, what a dreadfull joke
+Rogue Jellybean lol
Dave.
Acoustic Aeromancy was literally killer!!!
Glad to see that Rob grew his hair back on such short notice.
brilliant jam in the beginning
Kinda blown away!! Not calling you guys liars, just finding it very hard to believe Fender managed to break the solid wood price point by like, 75%.Talk about a game changer.Kudos to Fender! Great vid !!
you guys are fantastic. . the dreadnought is superb
Big fan of the show. Instantly subbed after the first video. Keep up the great work guys.
Rob always raises his arm after playing one, single, open chord (14:37) haha. Amuses me every time.
These are really sweet sounding. Great playing fellas!
Great demo lads. These sound & look great
That intro jam was nice mates almost made me shed a tear. (.:
I think Chappers and the Captain should do an acoustic licks lesson. I think the licks in this video are totally on par - absolutely awesome.
The intro was beautiful.
That parlour guitar is stunning
It's nice to see an acoustic performance every so often. ^__^
"Rob do some finerpickery stuff". Still plays with pick.
Sounds awesome, nice solo from lee
Love your videos though, guys! Always great stuff! Cheers!
Came back to this in 2024 to check out the thoughts on this guitar as I have an opportunity to pick up a hardly used second hand unit. Only played laminates till now. Will be my first solid guitar!
was literally playing the exact chord progression yesterday God I love music and you guys great video
This is lovely to listening to!
Too bad Anderton's doesn't sell Guild guitars, I would love to see you guys review those!
Me too. Love my D-25M.
Wicked jam! I played along on my Fender CP-100 that I got at Andertons :D
I have a PM-3 Standard and I love it!
Has anyone else noticed how much better Lee has been playing lately?
I loved the sound of Lee's smaller guitar. Not super bright like most acoustic, kinda darker and mellower sounding!
+Michael Osztertag Get an all mahogany/mahogany top acoustic if you're looking for a less bright sound. They sound incredible. Lee's guitar has a mahogany back, so that's part of what you're hearing.
Amazing demo. Chaps sounds good on acoustic too. I like the fact that the guitars sound a bit compressed like the Gibsons.
wow, i dont know if you guys did something exceptional on the recording, but man these are sounding good..
Nice opening jam fellers!
How do you think the painted Paramount's sound? Does the paint make a big difference to the sound? I love the look of the black deluxes with the white scratch plates
The progression Rob plays at 17:55 sounds like That's the Way of the World
These guys can make sound anything good. Loving the acoustic vids!
Loved the video guys
i LOVED the intro
13:12 haha "the nice thing about rosewood is the scooped..." (cuts to a different mahogany dred for the example)
I love that you guys are doing more acoustic videos! Is there any chance that y'all could do some tanglewoods?
Just bought the triple-0 (from your store no less!) - Great guitar, good value. V happy.
Funny that the klon ktr, the timmy and the analogman king of tone are in the back in the videos, but not available at andertons. They are all three amazing pedals and since the first time they appeared I am hoping for a comparisonvideo comming up! :)
I like captain's lead playing waayyy better.
I identify with the way he plays.
No, just got a proper taste in music.
+Lenny Henry ^still at it
what the fuck is this thread. Can't tell who's trolling and who isn't =)) =)) Internet comments at its finest
Aryo Taheri preach dude 🙌
Dig it. Nice work guys-
intro jam was sweeeeet
If thay are as good as the Fender acoustic I had , and played for years in my band for years,I just might get one again.
I didn't know penn and teller did guitar demos. nice!
Chappers do an acoustic album!! :)
fender acoustics are extremely underrated. I have the fender cp-100 and I love it.
Captain is doin it

Acoustics?? Wow!!
Rob was raised in Holland?? I love him even more now
nice both of em
Rob, at the beginning, I though you guys were playing Moon on The Water from BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad.
love that song, love that show. did not get that vibe at all though
What they played here is quite a similar riff to *The Verve Pipe: The Freshmen*
Great review! You talking about the Fishman tuner reminded me to ask if you have any interest in reviewing the Fishman Fluence pickups?
Nice jam!
At 4:45 you say a "super quick way to tell the standard from the deluxe is" ---
How do you tell? Thanks!
If you goes could do a lesson on jamming and the tunes you guys like to jam with, it would be awesome
The parlor guitar Cap is playing has amazing tone (my ears generally love parlor guitar tones), but this one's really nice. Might get the mahogany version.
I'd love to see a Dean Vendetta Review!
great reviews boys , ile be buying the parlour probably the delux , i like rosewood

+Rob Chapman +Captain
Crazy question here. Whats the deal with the song Sweet Child of Mine? I've noticed in previous videos that little jabs were made about playing that riff. Just wondering. Many thanks for your time!
Chapman always plays the intro with the wrong guitar (right guitar: Les paul)
Rob, what is the chord progression you play at 7:30? I Love It when you do that!!! 😎
What is he playing I like it a lot
Music
The first riff i recognized by Rob was Sweet child of mine and then in the final jam he plays the intro of “On my mind“ by Donavon Frankenreiter.
great guitars!!! Greetings from Germany ;)
Nice guys. Are you playing thru' acoustic amps or electric guitar units. Does it make a great difference to the sound.
Rob grows back hair extremely quickly..
ooh, faith has some competition! Good timing as I heard they are in a bit of trouble with the law! lol
Great video! Are you guys going to review the Ibanez Talman series?
what is that chord progression? great playing and great sounding guitars!
Some interesting editing going on after the fact! Lee explains the virtues of rosewood, then cut to Rob playing a mahogany-backed dreadnought.
Is there a significant sound difference in deluxe and standard, or would it be okay to settle with the standard? I tested the deluxe once in a gutiar store and fell in love with it. But now I'm planning on getting an acoustic gutiar for real, and the deluxe is just slightly on the expensive side.
What are the chances of seeing something like this with the Ibanez range of acoustics? I love the Ibanez tone, and your videos...
Can anyone see or know the chords that Rob is playing at 17:56? Those are some great chords...
+Buddy Martin I think hes playing.... Emaj7 - E9 - A - D9
Sounds like It aint over ´til it´s over
Liam Doyle Thanks so much, that sure sounds like it. I appreciate the assistance!
God damn I miss the old Chappers and The Captain episodes. Why Rob...damn it.
10:25 Cap nails a gnarly riff and says "oops".. cmon man
Best little riff played in the whole video. One day we'll find out that Cap is actually Chaps guitar sensei
I think Chappers and the Captain should do an acoustic album, just the two of them, vocals aren't even necessary
when will we see a acustic Chapman guitar? :)
Totally out of their element.
Ok, let me be that guy: Reverend Gary Davis is in fact a legendary J200 fingerpicker ;)
Hi Guys
Did you ever played on a Zager guitar if not
can you maybe do a program of it
Cheers Jack
That Rosewood 000 is sexy as fuck...
And ~850€ for a full solid-wood guitar + hardshell case seems to be a really good deal.
I'd love to hear a Dorje acoustic album.
Rob, where you raised in Holland? Awesome! I'm from The Netherlands
Demo some Fender Bassbreaker Amps, please.
I noticed when Rob is playing, he constantly moves his mouth from left to right or right to left lol, I've been subscribed for a reasonable amount of time now, really enjoying your video's and seeing your company growing up from the start till now, when is the V comming out? o.O
+Michael Duk , watch Rabea, Danish Pete, and Captain Lee, as they all do it when they are playing parts that make them work.
Wait, what? Something vintage styled from Fender? I did NOT see that coming.
