I’ve never been a fan of fender acoustics, but I was really surprised at the cost of these given their sound and wood selection. I’ll definitely be giving them a try. Thanks for the review, Ben.
I just got one. trust me, they are cheap for a reason. doesn't sound bad, but literally everything else about the guitar is garbage. the action is decent but frets need leveling out the box, the intonation is bad, it smells like chemicals, exposed glue around pickguard and the mahogany versions have unsanded sides and sharp unclean edges everywhere. It feels and looks like a cheap chinese import and doesn't sound amazing.
Bought the orchestra and a guild of equal value. Wanted to see what was up. Sent the guild back and kept the fender. Wanted to hate the fender, but couldn’t. Guild was fuller and more note separation. But, in the end, fender recorded, sat in the mix, and played better. Guild felt $900. Fender was $900 and felt $1500. Still hard to accept, but im impressed. Lastly, ive played guild all my life.
I have a Fender Hellcat that is my favorite guitar. But after your parlor model demo I am convinced I need to add one to my collection. Great playing on that little joybox!
The first acoustic guitar I ever played was a rattle-box Fender POS that was given to me. I upgraded as soon as I could afford to. Glad to see they're putting out some nice acoustics.
Ben, you place so beautifully by yourself, it is so nice for you to showcase each guitars tones, thanks for the demonstrations, great playing If I were still looking (I just got a Seagull S6 and love it) I would definitely try out a Fender Paramount, Thanks again,
Love Ben, but please pair him up with another player. This series has always been about a conversation between players and awesome acoustic jams that also serve to demonstrate the guitars.
I’ve been looking for a parlor guitar with an eye on valued features and you have convinced me this is the guitar to purchase. I really would have liked to hear the mahogany version of the parlor shape but it’s worth the risk to me. Great reviews and amazing playing. Thank you very much.
@@cooloutac I did. I like it very much. Sounds and plays great. I do think this guitar is bigger than most parlor guitars - it’s about the same size as my Yamaha FSX5. If you’re looking for something smaller, then I would consider another brand. I’m told the older Fender Paramount parlors are more of the small parlor size.
The parlour is decent especially at that price. The others sound typically like Fender acoustics - too thin or all mids. I suspect they may be quite feedback resistant though, can you give your thoughts on that?
For acoustic I’ll keep my 1969 Grammer. For electric, with my favorite Peavey amp, Fender is very good. The Fender acoustics are decent but not top tier. They are very affordable for a famous name guitar which should boost sales.
I find myself clicking the link to see the price before even watching lol. I saw a video for a cort that looks really good for the price. I think it was a bit more though. These look nice
Nice body transformation Ben. I really had to check if you are the same person from the Epiphone vs Gibson Acoustic video Oo Really changes a person doesnt it? :D
Great sounding guitar but the pickup system is weak imo , I swapped mine for an LR Braggs VTC active pickup and swapped out the pick guard as I found the stock one gaudy . Rest of the guitar is Superb .
Tend to agree. Always been underwhelmed by Fender acoustic guitars, but even upping their game at this price point they have very stiff competition in quality & sound from other brands such as Faith, who always seem to go beyond what the price point is.
I find it very difficult to make any sort of valid comparison when you're playing different pieces of music on each. In the future could you PLEASE include at least a 30 second passage of the same song played back to back on any comparison videos; that really would help. Thanks.
One of my friends has an old eighties Fender Capistrano. All solid woods and not the cheapest guitars at the time, but certainly not expensive. I own a Gibson J-45 and a Martin D-28 and neither one of them can beat the Fender when it comes to volume. And it doesn't sound bad either. It really pisses me off. These guitars, if they are anything like that Capistrano in terms of quality and sound, then these are a bargain.
Even in Ben's hands those struggle to sound decent. Very thin. Even for the price they don't sound good enough when you consider what manufacturers like Faith (Bloodmoon Neptune springs to mind) or Tanglewood, to name but two, have in that price range.
are you serious? The bloodmoon neptune is about 1000 dollars used. Im pretty sure new it is 1500. That is 1170 pounds in british website. No way youre comparing a 900 dollar guitar to a 1500 one.
@xbeat neltune is 850 at andertons so about £200 differce not too much, they're both in the mid budget range, depends if you have the funds to stretch, I'd personally go with an alverez but that's just ne
@@flamex4real you can get a blood moon for £750 if you shop around. Of course stock is an issue for most guitars today so it's a terrible time to buy and a great time to sell.
Agree. I live near Andertons so can try stuff out. Pick up an all solid Sire for about the same price and try them together.... The Fender goes back in the rack...
I wished I had learned this earlier. A couple years ago, there's a great deal for Fender cc-60s and I bought it, but that guitar sounded terrible, just plain terrible. I was so confused, a big brand like Fender, and a solid top from them, how could it be that bad? So I thought it must've been the body shape, the concert shape sucks, and made me lost interest in concert guitars ever since, but apparently, that wasn't the reason. Geez. When a guitar is bad, it just doesn't attract you to pick it up and play, and everything goes down with that. I once compared my cc-60s with my friend's yamaha dreadnought, I don't think it's solid top even, but sounded so much better than my fender. Surely cocnert guitars aren't supposed to overpower a dreadnought, but it should sound good in its own ways, yet mine doesn't, at all!
I can see why your skeptical about fender acoustics. They sounds okay thru the mic, thru pick up I hated them. Can I ask what amp you’re using or were you record straight from a mixer or audio interface. So twangy (hey it’s fender right) Clearly fender are aiming at the Gibson L-00 with tiger pick guard. I rarely leaves negative comments. That’s not about you in the slightest, and the video IS helpful I discounted fender from the list…
just received the po-220e mahogany. Its cheap chinese trash like you would expect. Intonation is flat which is weird. Action was at 6/64ths which is ok for me, but the low e buzzes on 2nd and 3rd frets. The frets literally need to be leveled out the box. I saw an amazon review state this but didn't believe it. My 20 year old Martin DX1 has more leveled frets(except high frets on the body). And it doesn't even play any easier than it does. now I have to pay shipping fees to send it back. Doesn't even sound like mahogany and smells like chemicals. The unsanded sides and rough edges, even the strap peg is on top of plastic with messy edges just makes the whole thing feel like garbage and I don't know what I was thinking . This video really sold me lmao...
There are mistakes on your website listings, they are all listed as Mahogany Top guitars, none of the listings mention spruce! Your IT guy is a cut and paste fiend! 😂🤣😂
They are not. They are a very nice all solid acoustic, beautifully made with a neck that is probably the best I have ever played, and trust me, I've played a few in my time... Fender have really upped their game with these Paramounts. Go get one, you won't regret it..
You’re kidding right? They *always* do electric guitars. Unless you mean, Ben should play electric guitar, in which case I’m all for it! That would be fun to see!

Wow...Always knew if Fender wanted to they could be competitive in the acoustic market😎👍
BRAVO Fender 😎👍

Really nice-sounding guitars. I like the new pickup system.

Yes ! Much warmer. Nice !
I must say they all sound really nice and they are a great guitar for the money thanks for the review
Though I’ve never owned one, I’ve played several and always felt Fender acoustic guitars are a great tone:cost value. That first guitar is gorgeous.
Finally Fender are producing good acoustic guitars! nice price too. Personally I prefer the Mahogany.
Fender acoustic guitars have come a long way. They're very nice....sound & looks.
I played the previous model and thought they were really well setup for beginners with a nice low action.
I like them they sound fantastic
I want one!
Where does the battery go?
There's a little velcro bag for the 9v battery on the inside of the body, underneath where the neck joins the body.

Six months after your review they were all dropped down to 400 GBP. I purchased a OS model.

Because it should be on the heel.
I think the front pick up sounds best - great natural sound. That said, you're fine losing makes them all sound great. In my hands, different story.
God bless you Ben 🙏🏼

I have an Epiphone AJ220SCE and an Epiphone Hummingbird and the two combined cost significantly less than £629 and are both superb guitars. Hmmm !!!
Well if they are both superb...be happy with them.
I don't know what to think...
I had 2 Fender acoustic's in my life and both had to go because they didn't satisfy me to be a keeper.
The Satin Finish on the Mahogany is giving it more ability to 'breathe' but the Spruce is crisper!
Ben can make the worst guitar sound awesome because of his brilliant playing. Ben rocks. 😎

Fender has always been known for their great electric guitars - and how much their acoustics suck, basically.
With VERY few exceptions, unfortunately.

Why the Fixation with Shaking the Guitar neck? Looks almost Manic. Just playing the guitar is enough.
