What a lovely little guitar. It's great to see the parlor sized guitars coming back into use. Fender's staying out in front with excellent electronics, materials and craftsmanship.
Teja says this is a "deluxe" version at the start of this review. This is incorrect, it's a "standard" version with Mahogany back and sides and NOT rosewood back and sides which feature on the "deluxe" version.
I recently bought a used deluxe model of this guitar (hey, Fender, why did you stop making these things?) and it is just wonderful. I have several other "nicer" accoustic guitars but I find I'm always reaching for this one...
Very useful to hear it played through the Fishman which is what I use. Fender® Dura-Tone® Coated 80/20 Bronze (.012-.052 Gauge) are fitted as standard. I now have this self-same guitar and it's excellent. The action, as delivered, is probably a tad too high but I'll not do anything about that until I need to change strings. The hardcase is very good quality with a very neat, removable foam wedge for beneath the headstock during transport. It also comes with a humidifier in case you need one. Quality of build is VERY good with a bound fretboard which is always a nice and useful feature. Guitars like this prove that instruments built in China don't always deserve to be derided. UPDATE: Having now played the guitar for some little while I've decided that the only thing I'm not too keen on are the Fender strings. I'll be changing to D'Addario or Elixir. The tuner has proved to be very effective and accurate. It really is a lovely instrument. Note that with all solid woods it won't be as resistant to accidental damage as, say, a Taylor GS Mini.
This isn't the deluxe version, which is builld with rosewood on back and sides and ebenony on the tretborad. The deluxe version sounds better, especially if you don't use to much force while picking.
@@hotlov72 Switched from a Taylor Walnut GS Mini to the Pm-2e. Much better sound when fitted with my preferred gauge of Elixir strings. Taylors are getting just too expensive to help fund all Andy Power's expensive redesigning of existing models plus all the limited runs using exceptionally expensive tonewoods. I used to have 3 Taylors but have now only kept one. The Fender cost less and is much better than the GS that I had.

Great review, your insight helped me decide this needed to be in my collection! Love the guitar.

Is the PM2 Standard comparable to the Yamaha CSF3M? Lockdown makes it hard to try these two in a store😅
wtf, the pickup sounds phenomenal...
does the preamp has a battery indicator?
No

Demo posting was for the standard. At the end of the video he concludes by saying so that’s the pM2 deluxe. What is being demoed is a mystery
That is not the deluxe.

Nice except they should have put the strap button on the neck heel.
so right!
It's renforced
So much better placement than traditional neck heal in my HO
Yeah the balance will be off with that location. Can you say neck dive, especially on a light acoustic body.
The problem with this guitar so far is the fact that it doesn't have the slotted head stock.
Why would you care about it?
Taylor is superior.
They don't make parlours
Taylor is superior...at shitty high sounding guitars

Thanks, this is helpful for me in making a decision.
