It’s wild how when a new guitar comes out ,every guitar shop on planet earth puts out a video, all in a few days , then there’s never, ever a follow up. And really it’s takes more than a day to get the feel of a guitar.
It will be interesting to see how long it will be before Fender releases a model with a cutaway shape and perhaps a sunburst? A black top version would be cool too along with other colors.
They look nice - and sound pretty sweet. Would have liked to see a spin of the contour knob to get an idea of tonal options. Also, the equipment you folks were running into/through. Seem like a pretty solid option for someone that plays both electric and acoustic - I have also heard mention that, with that pickup, they are very unlikely to feedback on stage?
That dreadnought is exactly what i want. I have an acoustasonic tele and have played it thousands of hours on my couch. Its a little thin live with .009 strings amd unwound 4th but I'll put .010 or even .011s on this with the wound 4th and will be in heaven. I hate regular thick acoustics with high action and small frets especially ones with sharp edges. Plus they feedback and seem to not sound as good plugged in. Made to be played through an amp is what i need!! They sound great!
Been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in my left hand, so finding the pressure I need to put on the strings more and more painful on an acoustic...would this be easier to play?
Though these are completely different guitars, for someone considering a parlour guitar how would they compare with a YAMAHA Transacoustic?Bearing in mind my acoustic experience only covers dreadnought and concert style acoustics.
I'm so upset right now. When the Fender Acoustasonic Series first came out I was begging Fender to design THIS. I described my idea exactly as these Highway Series are designed. I waited but nothing ever happened so I had no choice but to purchase a Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster just 2 months ago. AND NOW THIS HAPPENS!
@@ianbrown1474 Oh, I know. But I didn't actually want all the extras that came with the Acoustasonic. I just wanted the comfort for those 4 hour acoustic solo shows. I use the Acoustasonic on only 1 setting the entire show.
@@joequintana5546 to be honest Fenders reputation for the previous incarnations of the various thinline acoustics like the Stratacoustic has been terrible until they got the guy that designed the Taylor T5 to work on the acoustasonic.. I would need to test them for myself (carefully) before I went this route ..
@@ianbrown1474 So far I have no complaints about my Acoustasonic Telecaster except that it has a bunch of extra stuff that I don't use. But for a guy with arthritis in both hands, it's been perfect for my acoustic gigs. I even use it occasionally with the band too. But the Highway Series would have been perfect for what I needed.
I went down to a music shop yesterday and spent some time playing acoustasonics and a highway. My take-away thoughts were the highway was much nicer. The blend modes on the acoustasonics were pretty subtle and not for me but the highway series were really nice. Very full sounding and great playability. The only thing I felt was missing was an onboard EQ. Big shame they didn’t include that.
This seems like a very absurd entry by Fender. It's a mediocre acoustic guitar that looks more or less like an acoustasonic. Of course, it sounds fine when plugged in but the point of these guitars is that they're supposed to sound good when played unplugged which I've discovered that they do not.
I respectfully disagree. They’re meant to be plugged in. Nobody is going to buy one of these to play acoustically and think it’s going to sound like a standard size acoustic.
I think they sound better in this video. To be fair, I'd put it through my Helix anyway.I already have three acoustics and these are less ' awkward' to play.
@@im58woodyExactly. If you want a full acoustic sound, get a full size acoustic. The Fender Highway series is made to be played on stage and the fact it makes sound unplugged at all is a nice bonus
A tradition that goes back to Buck Owens & Loretta Lynn. Acoustics with a Strat neck. The camera loves Dagan & Meg just as much.
Great sounding guitars. The body shapes are trendy and comfortable too.
Thanks for the lovely demo.
The parlour model is exactly the guitar I need. Absolutely brilliant
Oh boy, they sound very good. Your playing is perfect too!
Glad you like them!
Awesome review Meg & Dagan👍🏻👍🏻🎸🎸👏🏻👏🏻 they both look amazing I think I would got for the shorter scale option
Loved that intro. Very nice guitars. Thanks Megan and Dagan.

Love the fender headstock on an acoustic body
Cool isn’t it!

That’d be awesome!
This crossover has for filled my life

Very cool guitars, love the long scale neck one! 👍
Amazing playing from both of you 👏
Great playing!
Wow, they sound gorgeous
🤘🤘
Beautiful demo! What is the scale length of the neck on a parlor…. Thanks you answered my question I may have to get the parlor.
How do they sound (NOT) plugged in? Or are they meant to be plugged in?
Are these like a GS Mini ?
Dagan you are a legend 🤘👑🙏
Nah, very different guitars.
When plugged in do you think there would be a big difference between the dreadnaught and parlor in the natural versions?
These would be so good for someone that doesn’t care about tone.
Nice aren't they, beautifully finished....perfect balance finally. Very good promo too!
What to plug it into is my question? Will it work with any amp or should it be an acoustic amp?
Hey Meg...great playing 😎👍
If you owned this parlor version, what guage strings would you prefer?
😎✌👍❤🖖

Gotta love open g tuning
Oh yeah! 🙌
I've got a 12 year old kingman with the electric style neck. Plays great sounds great looks great. So I have no doubt these guitars will be great too.

These won’t be anywhere near as flexible as an acoustasonic ..

Do you think they would do a 12 String ? Thanks
Cool guitars
Cool concept with the electric neck, but considering $999 will get you a Martin 000jr or a Mini-E Koa... Hipster bait? 🤔
Very cool!
A woody sound, low feedback, low priced, portable and easy to play.
What's not to like!
Cool guitars
Spruce sounds louder with more top end. Mahogany sounds fuller and warmer. The DN Mahogany better for strumming. Parlor for Finger Picking
Seems super cool.. but my first impression was the lead line didn’t sound like an acoustic. More like a thin bodied nylon string to my ear.

is the action lower than a typical acoustic :)
personally, i prefer the slightly richer tone of the mahogany. spruce is a little bright for me.
A grand gets you a decent proper acoustic
A grand is a bit steep for this I think
Nice till I see the Price.. 🤔
Rapidly becoming Fender tag line... 🤷
I will be sticking with my Charvette for a few more years 😂
They start actually playing about 6.5 minutes into the video
Make a player series, knock off $500…and I will buy it.
$999? No, thanks Fender

This morning on Andeton's site they had a Fender rep who seemed to indicate otherwise but perhaps he was just over selling.@@im58woody

Acoustic players will literally hold anything but an electric guitar 😅
