The scuf instinct pro paddles are supposed to be used with only 2 fingers and you have to roll your fingers in to the inner paddles. Is kinda awkward but after about a week you get used to it and you don’t have the issues with breaking paddles
I really love the elite 2, the only problem i have is with the bumpers. Im now on my 3rd controller. The first one I bought full price, second was covered with warranty, the third was through a "repair order" which cost around $150. Now my problem is, all the controllers have had THE SAME ISSUE. After about 6 months the bumpers start either double/triple clicking on a single input, or just dont receive the input. So although I really want to recommend it, I cannot say you should go buy it in good conscience.
Same here, gave up after the third. All left bumper. Been using a Wolverine V2, which has great buttons but horrendous paddles. Tried my best to use but no grip hamd placement allows their use. Rendering them completely pointless. Trying the scuf Pro next, hopefully better.
I'm going through this now. This is my 3rd controller. First one had stick drift. Second one, the bumpers stopped working. This third one, same thing. Bumpers stopped working properly. This time I bought an extra warranty so now I have to deal with that. I bought this 3rd controller in January 2022. It's not even 6 months old.
@@ryderjj89 I've had my scuf instinct pro for a month and so far so good. Controller feels like the Elite and paddles are great. What I like most is if any part fails apparently it is pretty straight forward to change each part yourself. This alone makes it worth rrp.

I have been dealing with the elite series 2 bumper issues as well. My suggestion is purchase the controller at best buy with the geek squad 2 year warranty. That way if your passed your Microsoft warranty you can just take it to best buy and get it replaced for free. I would recommend if you do replace it this way to just purchase the warranty again because idk why Microsoft can't fix this bumper issue already. I have returned about 3 Elites over the past 3 years , it costs me $60 for the warranty so it's cheaper then buying a new controller each time. The sad part being is it took me awhile to get comfortable with 4 paddles and now I don't want to give up that accessibility. I just haven't found paddles like the elite series controllers and the awesome software to boot. I owned the original elite controller and let me tell you that thing was a tank. I never had any issues with bumpers or anything for that matter until about 4 years in when the grips started to peel off. Miss the elite series 1.
In my experience the scuf controllers are more durable. I had a infinity ps pro for 3 years (playing a lot almost everyday) before one of the paddles stopped working (before that a little stick drift). Then I got the elite and it had a huge stick drift after only 6 months and the paddles that I used started to only work with too much force. However I have heard complaints and praises for both controllers so it seems like a lottery...
2 1/2 years using the Elite 2, been through 3 controllers. Between the paddles, buttons sticking and sticks sticking/ drifting really bad after an average of 8 months each
I have both controllers and I would agree that the Elite 2 shades it. The triggers are better on the Scuff, that's the main advantage IMO. The paddles underneath the Scuff are more like switches and not as good at the paddles on the Elite 2. I swapped out the original paddles on my Elite 2 with Scuff Elite 2 paddles which are waaaaay better. For me the Elite 2 is the most comfortable controller, but let down by the quality and sustainability of the buttons and bumpers. I also have a Chroma Wolverine 2 which has excellent buttons and pad which are like mouse clicks. If you could combine all the best best features of these 3 controllers you would have the absolute best Xbox controller bar none.
Honestly some company needs to come together and take the Best of both worlds and make the ultimate controller! This goes for both PS and Xbox and maybe even Switch!!
for anyone wondering the wolverine chroma v2 is the best and the dpad is great, triggers are decent, buttons are super clicky and sound great, grips are high quality, and the paddles are placed in a pretty decent spot and you have rgb lights too. Only for $120 too
Ok i've owned both. Recently switched to the instinct pro from the elite 2. the elite 2 paddles do break over time. You get to a point where the round part of the metal that sticks into the small actual button in the back doesnt make good contact anymore and you have to press it harder and harder. Value wise, it's not even close, elite 2 all day. Thats where the elite 2's fight ends. When we move to performance these are 2 different generations of controllers and people just havent caught up to what scuf did with this controller yet. I get sweaty hands. With the elite 2, those metal paddles became ice rinks for my finger tips. Not to mention that 8 fingers are assigned to buttons which leaves your small two fingers to really grip the controller. Again with sweaty hands it can be a nightmare. The scuf, the grip is beyond amazing, i can finally grip my entire controller tight and no matter how much i sweat, that thing isnt moving. The mouse click is ridiculous on warzone, and please for the love of God DO NOT place a finger on each of the paddles, you wanna use the "finger roll" technique he showed. There is a steep learning curve, but thats where the game changer is. My movement on warzone has skyrocketed thanks to the scuf and im still getting used to it (tip: which button you map where makes ALL the difference). But yea elite 2 best value/budget controller. If you want true performance, scuf all day
I used to have the Razer Wolverine Ultimate all the time. Most of them broke after a year even though I was never abusing it. Im really interested in the SCUF Controller though and wanted to ask you, how long is the average durability time before it breaks? Ive heard from many people that the Elite Series 2s quality sucks so I wont bother buying one of those.
@@BubbenKopp i've had it since february. I play about 5 hours a day of warzone, no issues yet. 6 months strong. What i've found out about controllers is you get out what you put in. None of my controllers started stick drifting until i dropped them a couple of times. If you take care of your controller you can avoid issues for a really long time
I’ve been using an Elite 2 for about two years now and early this year is when the right bumper started to not recognize the input at time. It’s become worse since then and I’ve had to make one of my profiles account for that and map the RB to a paddle. Loved the controller very much though
Super easy to roll your fingers and press all 4 bumpers on the instinct . Plus the mouse click triggers are god tier , way better than elite trigger stops. $40 more for scuf but a truly better controller
i came to look for vids on these 2 controllers as i bought the SCUF and i had series 1,2 elite controllers as well and the stick durability is better than xboxs elite the sticks started drifting after a month.. also scuf is nicer cause u can clean it easier.. not happy spending 240$ with nyc tax lol but tbh the paddles are way better xboxs paddles are way too sensitive and the triggers are still terrible cheap
After having the elite 2 and loving it, I have run into the bumper issue. And after reading everyone constantly having that issue, looks like it’s the scuf this time for me
I had my elite for 4 years and it started to get stick drift and sticky buttons, about a year ago but now it’s just so bad , I’m actually excited to try the scuff
I had my Elite 2 Controller for about 2 years now and been gaming heavy on it I dropped it a few times from sleeping there something tiny inside make noise but nothing wrong with it it’s still going strong with no problems
I’ve had an elite two controller before, don’t think it lasted 6 months, and didn’t know about the warrantee since it was a gift, issue I had was stick drift. Haven’t had the scuf instinct, but I didn’t get a scuf prestige a couple of years ago, and it lasted me for around 2 years before it was stolen from me, I’d say the biggest improvements from the prestige to the instinct would be the instant triggers is your gonna use them, and also the paddle design, not just for feel but duribility, I ran through about 3 sets of paddles because of the angle they were positioned, glad they fixed that
Just bought the Elite 2 on sale and seeing all the reviews online and comments is making me scared to take it out the box and start using it lol. Seems like there’s one too many different issues that come with controllers nowadays especially pro ones. No single controller out there is perfect but the elite 2 seems to have the most going for it. If only it didn’t seemingly have so many problems with things like drift, bumper issues and faulty paddles. I hope they get it right with the elite 3
@@willy7968 I tried the elite controller only a few times, had no issues but moved away from it over a year ago. Can’t give a valid recommendation with how little I used it. At this moment in time though I’ve been using the Scuf envision pro and it’s been really great, had it for 2 months so far no issues. If you play on PC I’d recommend it
Personally I prefer scuff controllers for their durability. Before I bought my scuff controller I went through two elite 2 controllers in two years. I’ve had my scuff for a little over two years now and Im just starting to have stick drift. No other issues with it.
Ngl the Elite trigger config is a bit of a dream sell imo. I set mine to go 1-100 instantly but when I play cod I still need push the trigger further. I have them set so its a short pull anyway but that Scuf trigger click looks like you would sustain fire quicker than the Elite 2s best setting
I’ve had 4 elite series 2 controllers. I play quite often and after only a month or so I would get horrendous stick drift bumper issues and paddle issues. I love the way the controller feels but every one I’ve owned has broken super fast. I just bought a scuf and am waiting for it.
They're both iffy for the price, either you'll have zero issues or constant issues. Battlebeaver is the way to go back takes forever to receive your controller.
hey i just wanted to tell you that if you pull of the front on the xbox elite controller you dont lose your warenty but there is a screw that is cover with a special sticker if you poke that sticker you lose your warenty
Ill tell you what they are both missing... hot-swap joystick sockets. My biggest issue with any controller is the eventual stick drift then going through the headache of swapping the module
I have no experience with the elite 2, I literally just bought one today but I haven't used it yet. That said, I bought my elite 1 five years ago, and it's been treating me well ever since I bought it. The one thing I really like about the Scuff are those rear paddles. They're so much harder to accidentally press than the elite 2. I tend to iron grip my controller, so the Elite is just way too hard to not accidentally click.
Just got one I have the same problem but they actually sell the scuff pro paddles for the elite controller and it’s a huge upgrade imo but they’re $30-40 so
People that is having issues with the bumpers bottoms on the Elite 2, is because of dust I recommend put it back in the carry case that come with after finished playing. I got mines for 2 years already and no issues at all, but it can be just me.
Elite 2 user here. After 1 year of very mild usage bumper buttons started to fail to register presses (because I don't press it very hard). It gets especially ridiculous, that the standard xbox controller I that use HEAVILY all the time is still absolutely fine
I’ve had elite controllers since the first white one came out and they have not gave me any issues at all I don’t abuse them either tho the elite 2 is just amazing I just ordered on on the Xbox design lab I’d highly recommend them if they could make the triggers like mouse clicks it would be a beast imo
From 1 growing channel to another this was a very good quality production. How did you shoot this if u don't mind me asking?? I'm still learning so I m always looking for tips and suggestions
Hey, thank you I appreciate that! There’s definitely a lot i’ve learned along the way and I still change things video to video.I have some of the gear I use linked in the description and there are plenty of options to fit into different budgets. Aside from gear I pick a couple camera angles I like and try to remain consistent with those. Good video quality is important, but bad audio can turn people away quickly so try to invest in some type of external microphone system that plugs into camera/records externally. Lighting - You can have a great camera and without adequate lighting never have a clean shot These were some of the things I focused on first, I hope that kind of helps and answers your questions a bit!
Warranty being a big factor in controller reviews is a concern. At these price points you shouldn't have to worry about quality issues and problems should be rectified with the best customer service. Also, if the controller is replaced under warranty then you should really be getting a new warranty. Great review though, very detailed. Thank you.
I am so pissed off right now. My Elite 2 had such a low life span. I took care of it. Cleaned it. Treated it like my weapon. And I really enjoyed using it. It felt great and it was extremely responsive. But time to try SCUF.
If you live in the UK, buy the controller you like from Curry’s and take the ‘hassle free repair or replacement warranty’ and they will swap it for a brand new one any time your controller breaks again. I bought the series 2 controller over 2 years ago and have had 8 replaced in that time! That’s 1 every 3 months on average. Same problems every time. Bumper double clicks when I press once and/or stick drift. Usually the bumber goes first. It drives me crazy and really, it’s not worth the price without that kind of warranty added (it’s £23 for 5 years free replacements btw!)
Never buying an elite 2 again. I love the customization and the accessories that come with the controller, but I have some major concerns. I have had 3 controllers now and the right bumper has gone out on all of them (I play destiny 2 and use this often for melee and super). The paddle I have mapped to jump is starting to wear out as well. I started having bumper issues around the 6 month mark on all 3 controllers. My other concern is the that the paddles are narrow and made out of metal, so they begin to dig into my fingers, particularly the jump paddle, during longer play sessions.
I have an elite 2 controller as well and the RB button just went.. it registers maybe 1 out of 10 times you hit it.. I also took it apart at took something out to make it work some of the time. If I didn’t it wouldn’t click period.. 🤷♂️😡 I have a regular controller but it sucks so bad going back to that if you know what I mean.. I take care of my stuff too.
I’m on my third replacement on the Elite 2 due to bumper issues. Annoyed with the quality control, but I prefer it overall. Hopefully, Microsoft will address the problems.
I love the Elite 2, except that it's complete crap. I've had 2 and both had a problem where the tactile actuation point of the face buttons was above where they actually register a press, and my current one has had one of the bumpers fail, and when on the shortest setting the triggers do not always register a press.
The back pedals on the Instinct are part of the rear case and are a common failure point for scuf controllers. They won't sell you a replacement part. On the upside you can add clicky buttons to the instinct controller, those are not out for the elite controllers.
Something that's driven me mad especially when it came to the Dualshock 3 was how sticks would wear and loosen. It feels HORRIBLE, like when someone has a really weak noodley handshake. The Elite's option to customise stick tension was an instant sale for me.
I have the elite series 2 for over a year and have had to do multiple repairs. I literally had to shave the face plate down so the bumpers didn’t stick. I’ve had to send it in for repair of the B button. The joysticks will randomly start unscrewing and you have to screw them back in (usually happens with the right joystick) and to top it all off the button that connects to the bottom right paddle is now indented to far and sometimes when pressing that paddle it does not actuate until the second or third click of the paddle. I ordered the instinct pro a week ago so hopefully it goes better than my experience with the elite 2. Also my little brother has gone through two elite series 2 now and had similar issues as mine
I have probably 800 hours on my Elite 2 and the grips have stretched out and are at the point that the controller is uncomfortable to hold, my right bumper double taps frequently for whatever reason, and stick drift is getting bad, even on the highest tension setting. I ordered an Instinct Pro to replace it so we’ll see how it goes. If I don’t like that I guess I’ll buy another Elite 2. I just can’t use a controller without paddles anymore.
Elite 2 is a particularly a good controller for PC, because you can map all buttons and paddles to PC keybinds using reWASD. It is particulary useful that you can map one paddle as a switch giving many more possible keybinds when the switch is held down.
Oh right on...so you can basically use one paddle and bind it as an ALT or SHIFT key? Then hold down one paddle and use the other paddles with both primary and secondary functions? And does that save directly to the controller or only works on PC when you have reWASD running in the background? (As jn you probably wouldn't be able to use the shift/secondary functions on Xbox Series S/X)
@@phlooke Yes to first para, but not just paddles, you can assign any button/s or stick direction or trigger with a shift function. You can also have more than one shift key; in fact I assign both front paddles as shifts for some games such as X4 (space sandbox), which gives 3 different functionalities to all other controls. It doesn't stop there as you can also map macros, long presses, double presses and so on... The elite 2 has four different on board config settings and you can save different configs to all of them. You can also attach rewasd settings to particular games so they load automatically provided rewasd is running. As to XBOX, I don't have one, but I don't see how it could work, since it doesn't have a keyboard to remap. I have been trying to use controller more for PC games, because of carpal tunnel injury being exacerbated by using a mouse and this setup really helps with that.
I wish the Elite 2 it looked more like the Xbox Series Controller or at least give me the option to map the Share Button feature to the paddles or something. The Trigger Rumble feature is pretty janky on the Xbox One Controller lineup.
I use the Razer wolverine chroma v2 and its a beast. With 6 mappable buttons 2 on top next to the bumpers and 4 on back that are away from the handles/grip of the controller, there are no accidental button presses. The biggest downside is that its usb-c wired only. You should def check it out.
Me as well, I actually just recently bought the elite series 2 had the original series 1 it was cool Believe it or not didn't have any problems with that one.. knock on wood.. I've been enjoying the s*** out of my elite series 2 coming from the scuff instinct pro.. had problems with that one unfortunately the right stick was drifting so bad I couldn't even use it contacted scuff after I had it for a few months and had to pay even more money to get it fixed on top of a 200 plus dollar controller .. that makes no sense to me whatsoever... The controller to begin with when I first got it was amazing as short-lived as it was I was terribly disappointed upon my purchase when in all reality when you're not sponsored by them you're going to lose what you put into it in the end.. at least if something goes wrong with my elite series 2 I have the Best buy geek squad protection on top of it and just get a new controller.. but, I'm here to tell you as someone who likes to lay in to call on duty Cold war and a small window you could say I'm pretty hardcore about it I like to have serious fun and compete in a fun way in free for all.. the elite series 2 with the marriage of my control freaks and tailoring the controller to my liking has been amazing I highly recommend this controller to anyone who's looking for that perfect feel and performance... Thank you Microsoft cheers!!!
Just purchased my elite 2. Haven’t opened it as of yet, but I research about a lot of drifting right out of the box. I got the extended warranty also which is up to 3 years. Hopefully I got a good controller.
Just ordered the scuf , I hope it’s better than the 3 elites I’ve gone through already. Just nervous about only having a 6 month warranty with the scuf and no analog tension adjustments
Scuf controller quality is a million times better than xbox. i had my original scuf for 5 years before i started getting problems with it. definitely better than the xbox elite.
I just picked an elite series 2 controller and absolutely love it. I 100% agree that the paddles are in the perfect spot because of how I hold the controller
i had at least 3 elite controllers and all had problems even had 1 where the trigger stop adjust knop broke off it is only plastic unlike the elite 1 that had metal adjusters. some other problems i had with them is stick drift, RB button registering 2 times when pressing 1 time, thumbstick grinding that created dust and thumbstick click left side not working anymore. i really want the new controller but i am scared it will brake again after just a few weeks. my elite 1 still works and have it from 2015, only a few things like the rubber coming lose on the grips and minor stick drift witch can be fixed on steam or threw ingame deadzone adjustments. i am looking at the SCUF instinct pro atm might going try that one but i hope the rubber on there grips last. i just would like to see an elite 3 that last long like the 1
Im on my 4th elite series 2 and the bumpers are not working again. of 10 clicks on the LB only 1 is recognized. and in a game like COD you need those. i wish they had the durability from the elite 1. So i gave up on the elite and orderd the scuf instinct pro. those trigers are fck fire! if it holds longer than a year its defo better than the elite 2
ive had the elite 2 for 3 years and its decent nothing more. the bumpers stopped working just after my warranty expired luckily with the game I play at a high level I can map it to paddles. the paddles become sticky if you hold them down for example when crouching in game if set to hold. worth the money-yes but the durability could definitely be better
I bought my Elite 2 about 2 or 3 years ago and I have no issues with it at all. I just bought and X Box Series X and gave the controller that came with that to my son and I still use my Elite 2 controller for it...
Idk how people are having issues with the Elite Series 2. Ive had my halo infinite edition elite 2 since launch and never had any issues. I play a lot of Infinite and Fortnite. Then again i do take care of my stuff idk about others. I never toss or throw my controller I’m gentle as i can be.
@@kingdre4233. Sounds good bro. I've just ordered an Xbox Series X elite 2. Never had a controller like that before. Am I in for a treat? Is it a good pad? Be honest. Cheers 🍻. Oh, i only paid £142 for it. That Scuf pro is a whopping £229, in the UK. That's nearly £100 more. Damn! Thats expensive.
I have elite series 2 within 6 month started to have drifting issues so I used the warranty and got another series 2 but in the span of 4 month AGAIN with same issue 🤦♂️ And FYI I always leave it the carrying case.
The elite series 2 is perfect, if it wasn't for the stick drift. I had stick drift out the box on my last one and just dealt with it. I'm on my third and they've all had it
Just got an elite series 2 after using my instinct pro for about a year and tbh i like the elite series 2 more... feel like the paddles are way easier to press in aswell. I went back to my instinct just to see if i would perform better and the paddles felt weird. Still love the scuf but elite series 2 has better warranty which is what i wanted.

Great video. Just got a Scuf Reflex for PS5 recently. I will say it feels high quality, but the 300 I paid is a definite stretch, ha ha. I mainly got it for the rubberized grip as the ps5 controller I find very slippery with the grit texture on the back. So it is a little disappointing the the rubber grip on the back doesnt offer fuller coverage. Other than that the face buttons are a little lower in and I think it does feel slightly better all around than a default PS5 controller. Its too bad I couldnt get trigger stops on a toggle switch. With the PS5 controller you have to either choose trigger locks or no trigger locks. It limits it for other types of games if you get the triggers locked. Scuf does charge alot for any little thing you add. I think even a case is 40 bucks so I did not get that. My thinking was that if Scuf customer service is good I can send in the controller for stick drift and keep it alive for a very long time. From what I read its only 25 bucks to fix stick drift and you can just mail it in. Ive been keeping my elites alive off of best buy warranties. They break frequently. Microsoft customer service is overpriced and very shitty to deal with. Various things on those controllers also tend to break easily. When my Elite breaks again I may consider this, especially if my experience with replacing the sticks is easy with thier customer service. The rubber grip is the best ive used on the reflex, so I have no doubt its going to be an improvement over the elite (same looking grip). Havent used the reflex long enough to rate durability yet. Seems standard quality parts, minus the rubber. One issue I have is that theres no adjustable analog stick tension, which is one of my favorite features on the Elite 2, so that may make me hesitant since it costs considerably more.
@@DangBubba ha ha Definately question the purchase at times. That grit texture was killin me on the default controller. Hopefully this controller can ride out the life of the PS5.
If the elite's paddles were on the Scuf Instinct Pro, it would be a game changer. The Scuf triggers are the only thing that's great about the instinct pro but other than that there's really nothing else special about it unless you talk about the price which is a lot compared to the elite's series 2. Sadly, the Scuf only lasted me 6 months until I got stick drift which is the equivalent of the red ring of death on the Xbox 360 console in my eyes loll.
I just switched to a victrix gambit and its actually very impressive for $100. Made a huge difference for me as a warzone sweat who was on a original xbox one controller with paddles. The latency was noticeably faster thus winning more fights..... Magnetic face plates. 2 or 4 paddle configs, nice case, trigger stops, extra sticks. I'm on a laptop or monitor tho so I didn't need wireless. If it was wireless it would be amazing
personally, as someone who was played on both the scuff pro and the elite 2, I think personally that the scuff is Beter and here is why. in games like Fortnite cod and other shooters it just feels was Beter faster and smoother unlike the elite, but I do like the elite's paddles better, but I think the best controller on the market right now actually the power a fusion pro 2 it way more affordable has the best paddles I've played with and if super-fast and smooth. but if you like PlayStation lay outs the most go with the scuff impact or a normal PlayStation 4 or 5 controller. Hope this helps anyone who is looking for a new controller :)
The fusion literally has a 3 millisecond response time which is slower than the Super Nintendo. I have the instinct pro. It matches well with my 1ms monitor and it is instantaneous.
Yes, if the elite controller doesn't break within a few months of use. I love the elite 2 controller, but shamefully I am on my 5th one in a matter of 2 years. My newest one is already broke after 3 months of play due to double clicking bumpers (just like the rest of my previous ones). Love the design of them and all the sweet bells and whistles they offer, but I can't justify getting a 6th one. I guess I will try Scuff, hopefully the durability will be stronger. My real hope is the elite 3 controller will be better. We will see I guess :P
Bought a elite series 2 and returned 3 of them all within 1 month. Nothing but issues. Extremely disappointed. All had stick drift. Bluetooth didn’t work on one. Dpad didn’t fit correctly on another. Buttons were non responsive and other issues.
I have elite 2... After using 2 month playing fifa game.. my trigger RT and Left Joystick went broke... Please avoid this controller, it kind of scam at this point, it broke too fast
I have elite 2 for a year now. A button doesn't register sometimes since the beginning. And now both my rb and lb aren't that responsive. Still the best controller I've used. I just wish quality control was there.
Elite Serie 2 - i had 3 of these, and all of them had problems. StickDrift is already standard. A nice Controller - theoretically . The Scuf is better. Nice mouseklick triggerstops, no stickdrift at all. My nerves were worth the little extra money .
Lot of good points, I like the SCUF. I do think for someone trying to get into their first “pro” controller that price tag can be deterring but it’s definitely a solid controller if it checks the boxes for you
@@DangBubba the price is of course an issue, and 6 months waranty is too short. But for me the Scuf is the better controller. Now that Corsair has bought Scuf, quality isn't an issue either . Greetings from Switzerland.

Same i just exchange it for the 4th time

@@ri0681 really though? I’ve had 3 scufs already and all got stick drift really fast…. And whack warranty scuf gives
2 1/2 years using the Elite 2, been through 3 controllers. Between the paddles, buttons sticking and sticks sticking/ drifting really bad after an average of 8 months each
Rip
If you want true performance, scuf all day
Appreciate your thoughts on your experiences with both!
THE NEW SCUF INSTINCT IS THE BEST SINCE THEY MADE THE CHANGES
Can you gift me the elite controller
If you take care of your controller you can avoid issues for a really long time
that one year Warranty on elite 2 saved me so much. I got 4 new controllers in one year
is that a good thing...lol. You needed 4 in a one year period. Trash.
That's a beautiful thing
I’ve been using an Elite 2 for about two years now and early this year is when the right bumper started to not recognize the input at time. It’s become worse since then and I’ve had to make one of my profiles account for that and map the RB to a paddle. Loved the controller very much though
2 years is an incredible lifespan for any modern controller
@@cryptik_official not really, no
Yo bro I was just having the same problem with the rb and at times the rt won't recognize the input when it's being pressed lost a few games like that
Super easy to roll your fingers and press all 4 bumpers on the instinct .
Really nice RUclips video! And happy Halloween 🎃
Thank you, spooky season is here! Happy Halloween
If the Scuf came down in price it would be a much more tempting rival. That 6 month warranty is grim too.
Over £200 and a 6 month warranty is wank
Def subbing my man. Love a good review and I liked the scoring style fr.
Appreciate you, see you on the next one!
I had my Elite 2 Controller for about 2 years now and been gaming heavy on it I dropped it a few times from sleeping there something tiny inside make noise but nothing wrong with it it’s still going strong with no problems
How Do You not have thousands of subs 😮 your videos are like professional and just absolutely amazing ❤
Appreciate that a lot, hoping to get back to it very soon. Hope everything’s going well with you ❤️
I’ve had an elite two controller before, don’t think it lasted 6 months, and didn’t know about the warrantee since it was a gift, issue I had was stick drift. Haven’t had the scuf instinct, but I didn’t get a scuf prestige a couple of years ago, and it lasted me for around 2 years before it was stolen from me, I’d say the biggest improvements from the prestige to the instinct would be the instant triggers is your gonna use them, and also the paddle design, not just for feel but duribility, I ran through about 3 sets of paddles because of the angle they were positioned, glad they fixed that
Agreed! They did a lot of good things here, sorry to hear about your old controller being stolen too
I honestly just can’t get over the horror stories of the Elite series 2 always breaking
how do you not have more subscribers man. this is the best comparison video i’ve ever seen!
You're not wrong, let me know how it goes if you decide to cut that seal!
Just depends bro, I have an elite for 7 months now and no issues yet
any issues yet?
@@willy7968 I tried the elite controller only a few times, had no issues but moved away from it over a year ago. Can’t give a valid recommendation with how little I used it. At this moment in time though I’ve been using the Scuf envision pro and it’s been really great, had it for 2 months so far no issues. If you play on PC I’d recommend it
ok@@user_Z-
Personally I prefer scuff controllers for their durability.
Battlebeaver is the way to go back takes forever to receive your controller.
same i also had 4 of them and every single one went down within 4 to 6 months. one even the trigger adjuster broke off and the bumper fell out.
@@zaccuda7302 which model did you have? with those 4
Yep me too ,,,, My elite series 2 controller shuts off in the middle of game play. Wow ,,,That makes me have my "period" early !
how is the scuff controller now?
hey i just wanted to tell you that if you pull of the front on the xbox elite controller you dont lose your warenty but there is a screw that is cover with a special sticker if you poke that sticker you lose your warenty
Great review mane keep up the good work.
7:58 doesn't xbox scuf already have this?
Doesn't the adjustable trigger stop do the same thing??
Yes
Yes this guys a scuf fan it’s a biased video
I really wanted the elite series two. With the numerous quality control issues, I settled with the 8bitdo ultimate. It has been very good.
Ill tell you what they are both missing... hot-swap joystick sockets. My biggest issue with any controller is the eventual stick drift then going through the headache of swapping the module
I don't disagree, once this starts getting implemented across controllers it will be a game-changer for sure
I tend to iron grip my controller, so the Elite is just way too hard to not accidentally click.
can I get an update on the elite 2?
Just got one I have the same problem but they actually sell the scuff pro paddles for the elite controller and it’s a huge upgrade imo but they’re $30-40 so
People that is having issues with the bumpers bottoms on the Elite 2, is because of dust I recommend put it back in the carry case that come with after finished playing. I got mines for 2 years already and no issues at all, but it can be just me.
You can now change the colors for the xbox button on the elite controller for customization 👍
Elite 2 user here. After 1 year of very mild usage bumper buttons started to fail to register presses (because I don't press it very hard). It gets especially ridiculous, that the standard xbox controller I that use HEAVILY all the time is still absolutely fine
I’ve had elite controllers since the first white one came out and they have not gave me any issues at all I don’t abuse them either tho the elite 2 is just amazing I just ordered on on the Xbox design lab I’d highly recommend them if they could make the triggers like mouse clicks it would be a beast imo
this channel is underrated, you deserve 100k subs
Lighting - You can have a great camera and without adequate lighting never have a clean shot
These were some of the things I focused on first, I hope that kind of helps and answers your questions a bit!
Your video was super helpful and amazing thank you sir you have earned my subscription and I hit that bell button
Wow finally a good comparison video!👍🏼
Appreciate you!
Did you get the scuf? How is it holding up thinking of buying one
I was worried about bumper issues with Halo specifically when I was using bumper jumper for a while but never had a bumper go out on me
I have an elite 2 controller as well and the RB button just went.. it registers maybe 1 out of 10 times you hit it.. I also took it apart at took something out to make it work some of the time. If I didn’t it wouldn’t click period.. 🤷♂️😡 I have a regular controller but it sucks so bad going back to that if you know what I mean.. I take care of my stuff too.
Can you dash me ur elite controllers pls
I’m on my third replacement on the Elite 2 due to bumper issues. Annoyed with the quality control, but I prefer it overall. Hopefully, Microsoft will address the problems.
Do you have to send them back to get a new one or do they send you a new one with the warranty?
Recently they added custom elite series 2 options and you can customize almost everything
I just ordered mine today. I wonder if it will fix issues as each controller is hand made.
I love the Elite 2, except that it's complete crap. I've had 2 and both had a problem where the tactile actuation point of the face buttons was above where they actually register a press, and my current one has had one of the bumpers fail, and when on the shortest setting the triggers do not always register a press.
At least now you can do the design lab for the Elite series 2 which I think I'll do. Plus they don't charge extra for the colors
Xbox just added the elite to Xbox design studio. Now you can do whatever you want and even add text.. sooo cool. Ordering opened like 3 days ago.
The video comparison I need. Thanks.
Appreciate that, you’re welcome!
My problem with the elite is the weight. So heavy and kinda slippery.
What’s ur thoughts now which do u prefer ?
You give the best review and comparisons 👍🏼
Thank you, appreciate the kind words!
I love the elite 2 that charging comes in handy
Agreed
USB-C is god of usb definitely the best
If it was Wireless I would be all over it.
@@Stampistuta The cable is like 12ft long, should be long enough for couch use if that's what your worried about.
@@JDL16 No, I’m worried about the kids that’ll run between me and the TV and trip over the lead yanking my Series X off the stand. Lol

Thanks amigo!
Obviously this video is a bit old but the customization in the series 2 is good nowadays
Great review!! You should get more views!
thank you! I appreciate that, stay tuned
i had at least 3 elite controllers and all had problems even had 1 where the trigger stop adjust knop broke off it is only plastic unlike the elite 1 that had metal adjusters. some other problems i had with them is stick drift, RB button registering 2 times when pressing 1 time, thumbstick grinding that created dust and thumbstick click left side not working anymore. i really want the new controller but i am scared it will brake again after just a few weeks. my elite 1 still works and have it from 2015, only a few things like the rubber coming lose on the grips and minor stick drift witch can be fixed on steam or threw ingame deadzone adjustments. i am looking at the SCUF instinct pro atm might going try that one but i hope the rubber on there grips last. i just would like to see an elite 3 that last long like the 1
Im on my 4th elite series 2 and the bumpers are not working again. of 10 clicks on the LB only 1 is recognized. and in a game like COD you need those. i wish they had the durability from the elite 1. So i gave up on the elite and orderd the scuf instinct pro. those trigers are fck fire! if it holds longer than a year its defo better than the elite 2
i just bought the scuf instinct pro a couple days ago! cant wait
Excited for you, let me know how you wind up liking it
ive had the elite 2 for 3 years and its decent nothing more. the bumpers stopped working just after my warranty expired luckily with the game I play at a high level I can map it to paddles. the paddles become sticky if you hold them down for example when crouching in game if set to hold. worth the money-yes but the durability could definitely be better

I don't see the point of a middle trigger stop. Hair trigger and full press are all that's required.
I use the elite 2 for a month and never had any problems with the battery.
Had to charge it maybe 2-3 times total since I bought it.
Definitely hurts the pocketbook 😭fingers crossed you have no issues, appreciate all that feedback and hope you have 0 issues 🙌

That's actually a really nice-looking controller, I might have to grab one and check it out. The bundle/price sounds great, good lookin!
Weird shape, everything feels cheap, the paddles are mid at best, the software is a buggy mess.
The sticks are fantastic however.
You should do the thrustmaster e swap x pro bed controller out there
Great Comparison!
Thank you!
personally, as someone who was played on both the scuff pro and the elite 2, I think personally that the scuff is Beter and here is why. in games like Fortnite cod and other shooters it just feels was Beter faster and smoother unlike the elite, but I do like the elite's paddles better, but I think the best controller on the market right now actually the power a fusion pro 2 it way more affordable has the best paddles I've played with and if super-fast and smooth. but if you like PlayStation lay outs the most go with the scuff impact or a normal PlayStation 4 or 5 controller. Hope this helps anyone who is looking for a new controller :)
The fusion literally has a 3 millisecond response time which is slower than the Super Nintendo.
I have the instinct pro. It matches well with my 1ms monitor and it is instantaneous.
ES2 is by far superior. Waiting for ES3 especially if they add mouse click triggers
My opinion of course
Yes, if the elite controller doesn't break within a few months of use. I love the elite 2 controller, but shamefully I am on my 5th one in a matter of 2 years. My newest one is already broke after 3 months of play due to double clicking bumpers (just like the rest of my previous ones). Love the design of them and all the sweet bells and whistles they offer, but I can't justify getting a 6th one. I guess I will try Scuff, hopefully the durability will be stronger. My real hope is the elite 3 controller will be better. We will see I guess :P
Bro I’ve gone through two elites within 4 months that suffered from stick drift and connection issues.
Same my rb button just stopped working
okay thanks video wicked one question tho Elite 1 vs Elite 2
I have elite 2 for a year now. A button doesn't register sometimes since the beginning. And now both my rb and lb aren't that responsive. Still the best controller I've used. I just wish quality control was there.
Have u opened it & cleaned it ?
@@kelvinvelez1053 tried opening it, cleaning it, card trick, bend the plastic trick. Everything under the sun my friend
At first, I was gonna buy the suff but then I saw that the elite has a trigger adjustable things and for that price is way better
@@ragnar7363 Agreed! Hope all is well with you
@@DangBubba everything is fine thank you, hope you too.
Thats true im on my second elite 2 and straight out the box i got stick drift on right thumbstick for that price its garbage XD
I just got my red custom instinct pro and I love it I also got the elite 2 and honestly I like both
I’m with you!
I ran through 2 elite controller the first was on me… I was dropping it a lot and the right stick was stuck…. Bought another one and fresh out the box the right had a fault
The scud instant click is a sell for me… a full release of the trigger on the elite 2 is still an issue.
