    that controller looks good the fact you can open up completely and be able to clean it inside to prevent drift , or if eventually starts to drift you may be able to fix it, instead of just having to buy another controller.

    The Scuf Infinity1 lasted me for a good 5 years, no tossing or raging, and it held the test of time. The sad part is that I wasn’t able to repair it as it was far beyond saving as it was out of date, but I’m proud I made that investment. I appreciate the review, I’ll get this one next.

    The problem with Scuffs warranty is the expense in the first place vs time. I love Scuff controllers I really do but I had one that broke a year after use and was out of warranty and due them having released a new model and I couldnt source the part I needed and they refused to fix it. So be warned Scuff limit the time they will fix products in.

    Interesting review. I did not know this existed.
    I have the Elite 2 Xbox controller that I use with the PC.
    Loving it so far, and this Scuff just doesn't seem "premium" enough for the price. Also, the 6 month warranty is not enough at this price point in my opinion...
    The official Elite Series 2 controller seems to be a lot better as it comes with a carrying case, built-in battery and more metal in the construction (triggers etc.) just feels more premium.
    The only thing missing is the colour customisability which I am not too bothered with tbh.

      I also got the Series 2 Elite Controller and i think That a changeable Battery is way more premium than a Built-in Battery. If this thing dies you have to completly disassemble the Controller and Hope you Can get a new battery

    • @White_5tar
      @White_5tar 3 года назад +9

      I disagree wholeheartedly. Having to carry around extra AA batteries in case they run out is not premium at all. Plus, an addition Premium feature of the Elite controllers is that they can charge while stored via the dock/case while not in use.
      In all my years of gaming, the only batteries that have failed me are the old Xbox 360 plug and charge ones, which were removable and the default setup was AA batteries out of the box. No idea why they went bad, but they just didn't hold charge a few months after I got them. I gave up on the plug and charge kits and went to rechargable AA batteries for that, which was a chore.
      All the controllers with built in batteries have worked without issue despite multiple charge cycles throughout their life.

      The elite controller is great but there is one huge problem with them. That being the sticks have play in them before registering. Particularly the right stick and this is bad for shooters. All of them have this.

    • @fusi0ncatalyst191
      @fusi0ncatalyst191 3 года назад

      Hmm... MY experience with replacing all 5 of my elites through bestbuy is that they wont just replace it under the 2 year warranty, instead they issue a full refund for the controller, or an exchange for a new one, but this uses up the warranty on the controller, and you need to purchase a NEW 2 year warranty for that new controller. When it was $20 a pop, it was a deal, but its gon up to $60 per exchange, and I am pretty much done with it. I've got to exchange my current one, and in the future I will send it back to MS for repairs while its under the (now longer) warranty, and after that, either do the repairs myself, or be happy with the PowerA Fusion that has the same features in a wired controller at about the cost of just the warranty for the elite.

  • @djmatropolis1

  • @rollendesalami5839
    @rollendesalami5839 3 года назад +16

    The magnetic front panel has been used before by the manufacturer PowerA with the Fusion Pro controller.
    I think it's really good that this idea is now being adopted by other manufacturers. I mean, faster you could only change the sticks with the Elite, but the price, especially if you take another color or like me the church blossom cover, it is really outrageous.

    These are around the same price as the Xbox elite series 2 controllers, but buy comparison the elite 2's are a little better, at least in my opinion. Mainly because you can map ANY button to the paddles in the back, like the trigger buttons, which really do come in handy in FPS games like warzone. On the flip side this scuf controller comes with a share button, which I really do love using. You can map the share button to the paddles on the back of the elite 2's, but its just not the same. I find myself mistakenly mashing the profile button on the elite 2's alot, confusing it with the share button on the series x controller, its annoying lol.

      @connorhd3201 3 года назад +1

      How can they 'improve' haptic feedback and adaptive triggers without completely re-engineering the controller? Completely unrealistic ask unless you want a $400 controller.

    • @yqafree
      @yqafree 3 года назад

      @@connorhd3201 I didn't mean that they improve over what the PS5 controller design has already done but rather have the equivalent tech of the PS5 controller design has made, since those are improvements over previous dualshock controllers.
      It's going to take some work to make the manual button for those hair-triggers to also work with the automatically motorized adaptive triggers, but figuring that out could really make the controller alluring.
      And SCUF's pro controller can lose the built-in headset since most opt for external ones anyway, giving them a larger budget for the things that only a pro 3rd-party controller would provide.
