    Thank you so much for talking about how the sticks feel between these two controllers. No one else is talking about this detail, and it's so important for the micro-movements on FPS.

      I doubt it will have mouse click triggers. The scufs is the only controller with full throw triggers and mouse click and the reason for that is the cost look at the price tag of Scuf. The triggers is the only thing it has to offer

    I just clicked in the video since I had both. If you play shooters like I do you need low latency. Elite series 2 is the most comfortable and feels great but the 8ms latency is a no go, if you play anything else thats it. Scuf is around 2-3ms . sometimes more but I've had the instinc pro and currently using Envision pro and is definitely better for shooters

  • @ElkOnDeck
    @ElkOnDeck 6 месяцев назад

    It’s funny to hear you talk about how using one finger for 2 inputs was a bit of a mind fuck. That’s the stuff I’ve been talking about with the shift key for the elite series 2 controller. Yes it’s a bit of a hill to climb but when you have one paddle as a shift key and 3 paddles each with 2 inputs, you’ve got 6 extra inputs for your 4 paddles, and a shift key to add extra stuff for your other buttons 2. So that A,B,X,Y on the bottom so you don’t have to take your finger off the right stick is nice but when you add a couple of the arrow keys to keep you finger on the left stick as well (such as ping and scan), it just adds more options for you. I love my setup on the elite series 2 for the sheer amount of options I have for everything and I don’t think scuff can compare to it because of that.

    • @ElkOnDeck
      @ElkOnDeck 6 месяцев назад

      For reference, if anyone wants to know what my setup is for halo infinite as far as controls go, they are as follows :
      Paddles :
      Top left paddle : Crouch/Reload (shifted)
      Top right paddle : Jump/Scan (shifted)
      Bottom left paddle : Ping/Swap weapons (shifted)
      Bottom right paddle : Shift key.
      All other buttons are their regular configuration but I have some additional shifted inputs that are as follows :
      LB : Throw grenade/Swap grenade (shifted)
      Up on D-Pad is shifted to Record clip
      Left on D-Pad is shifted to Start recording
      Right on D-Pad is shifted to start/stop music
      Down on D-Pad is shifted to Take Screenshot.
      I have tried a few other things as well but this is what it has been for a while. There are a few things I’d recommend not shifting, like your shoot or either of your thumbstick clicks. I personally have had some bad luck with these since those are things I’m often spamming (particularly shoot and sprint) so when I’m trying to sprint right when I’m trying to reload for example, I might do some random other thing like pull up the scoreboard… and that’s just bad.
      Sorry to rant. I know no one asked for any of this info. Just putting it out there in hopes that someone sees it and just maybe implements something into their gameplay too. Most people I’ve talked to haven’t even realized they elite series 2 has a shift key or what that is. I hope this helps someone.

    • @AboveAverageCody
      @AboveAverageCody  6 месяцев назад

      I’ve heard people talk about the shift thing on elites, but I honestly couldn’t get behind that. 4 is enough for me, and if I wanted to have to think about something like that, I’d just go kbm. But that’s just me, personally

    I dont know if you will see this but hopefully you do and read it all. Love the in depth video and cant wait for more content! Love to see the pure passion to get better at the game. Now as for the Scuf Instinct Prio I wish I would have been able to like it but I just couldn't. I stuck with my Elite Series 2. I run a similar setup that you did with 4 paddles set to the face buttons. My right stick is a bit weird though, I run the tall stick with the shorter galaxy Kontrolfreek on top of it, the tension is set to the max on the right and loosest on the left. On the right I have 3 of the Kontrolfreek tension rings as well, 2 green, and a purple. You can laugh or call it crazy but my snap aim is insane it has vastly improved my sniping and headshot kills. For me doing it this way has given just the right amount of give that I need to get those snap shots. Anyway hope you had a Happy and fun New Year!

    Honestly I do believe anyone will like whichever one they start with. Like you said it took you a few weeks to get use to the elite paddles. It could be the same with the scuf. Everyone is different and everyone's hands are different. Personally holding any controller wasn't comfortable because I have extremely long skinny fingers. I personally care more about the sticks but it's all personal preference.

  • @steveklaasen7571
    @steveklaasen7571 5 месяцев назад

    nice overview.
    I just ordered a Elite Series 2 and my sticks are...loose. I have some space until the sticks start to react out of the box.
    The Scuf...it's very restrictive. I want to be able to set the keys myself. With the Elite Series 2 I can also set all Keyboard keys on each button the way I want. That's very important when PC playing a game that doesn't have much Controller support.
    The Scuf have only very limited ways to swap keys. From what the manuals say you can only change the additional keys to keys from your keyboard.
    In a perfect world I would be able to set every key the way I want. Setting A with Mouse 1 and B with Space.
    Why? Because the game I play demands it.
    The Elite is here clearly the better one.
    Well...and then...Scuf is very suspicious. They say the controllers are personal made. But that's a lie. The controllers are mass produced and the only pieces are changed are the ones a user can exchange himself.
    It's Scufs cheap way to undermine basic customer rights.
    And that is what I have read about Scuf. When having trouble with a controller Scuf is reacting very slowly and creating troubles for the customer who got a bad product. That is also a sign that Scuf is mass producing.

      @@cheesecakefriend28 what bad things have you heard?
      Longevity wise, the weakest point I know of is the micro USB plugin can break off if you are not careful but that should not be an issue if you just use the cord that it comes with since it's designed to prevent that. And also just keep it plugged into the controller and little probably last 10 years.
      If the complaints are "it's too big". Then maybe if you have small hands.
      "Back buttons are too close" I think so too but after about a week or two I didn't notice any more. My fingers are always on all 4 back buttons and they are touching but it never feels cramped and I have no issue with it.
      "Feels weird". It definitely will feel different from other controllers but I think the sticks feel solid and after a few weeks they felt normal.
      Sometimes (not often) a stick will start acting up or start feeling weird for me but I can just switch it out if that happens (but will have to buy new sticks of course). I've had mine for over a year now (I have 1300 hrs in on halo so I put a lot of wear on my controllers) and don't see myself switching anytime soon.

      I will say, I’ve had a few friends have issues with the longevity of scufs, so this doesn’t shock me

      @@AboveAverageCodyit’s the same as clarkson with Hammond fiesta and the up. But On a real the functions of the elite are great however the durability of the elite trumps it. It’s up there for the worst durability on a controller. I’ve had around 7 or 8 since they launched the series 2 in 2019 when you think about that’s absurd
