    I found the metal effector plate on mine wasn't threaded accurately and it meant the effector was never parallel to the plate. To reduce noise and tighten things up I also printed a clip for each rod and slid them halfway down the rods with a small rubber band pulling them together. You got some nice mods there , Thanks for sharing.

    Hey mate great vid, found a couple of useful parts to upgrade. Just wanted to ask, when you swapped out the A4988 for TMC2208 V2, did you have you do many changes to firmware, or did you just get away with changing the stepper motor wiring? Looks like theres a V3, i was thinking if it would also be a drop in replacement? I'm attempting to try this but dont think I have the time to mess about with the firmware.

      With the v2 stepper I didn't have to change anything with the firmware or the wires I just had to set the volts with a voltage meter which was the hardest part. That's why I picked them as i didn't wish to mess with the firmware or wires and they made the best improvement over all.

    Love the upgrades, I have done most of them but not the corner braces, nice one.
    What firmware are you running for the TMC 2208 please? I like mine, but trying to find someone who has reliably modded the firmware to use the new drivers.

      Hi I only put them on the 3 arm motors the extruder doesn't really need one and that was a good thing as I got 4 but I ruined one by mistake 🙄so lucky had a spare 🤣

    Hi thanks for video its so usefull🙏
    İve got a question. How can i use tmc2208 with stock firmware? Couse it needs to reverse stepmotor. Or must to use marlin with your setup? 3 tmc and 2 a49?

    • @brithawkes36
      @brithawkes36  5 лет назад +2

      Hobby Maniac hi with TMC2208 v2 I didn’t have to change anything just checked the voltage which I was very happy about until I turned on the printer I wasn’t sure what would happen but all was fine try and make sure you buy version 2 2208 and you shouldn’t have to make any changes to the motors or marlin if when you turn it on the the printer move down. When you home then you will have to change marlin 👍

    hello, im new here, can you give me a tutorial or clue for instal Tmc 2208??

    • @brithawkes36
      @brithawkes36  3 года назад

      Hi in the video I give most of the info if you have the same printer and get 2208s v2 then it is straightforward pull the old ones out and put the new ones in and set the voltage this you can find in other videos which will explain it better that I can you will need to print a fan housing and get a fan then find the place to plug it in the board I think I point it out in the video because I got the V2 I didn't need to mess with the firmware it just worked. I hope that helped a bit it was pretty easy when I started the only mistake I made was when testing the voltage I blow one stepper luckily I had a spare 😀 good luck
