- In this video I go through 5 things you may not know about your Mavic Mini. Well, it’s actually 6 things but I’m calling one a “bonus”. I cover topics such as the gimbal, batteries (and charging), the remote controller, flight pause and the Mini’s sub-250g weight. Have a watch and hopefully you will learn at least one new thing about this amazing little drone.
UPDATE: I'm hearing a lot about the DJI Fly app's incompatibility with older phones, especially Android. Check this compatibility list BEFORE buying - www.dji.com/dji-fly#download

You can charge one in the drone and the other two in the hub. That way you at least have two charging simultaneously. They choose to have it charge that way, because it's the quickest way to get you into the air.
nope, the charger only charges 1 battery at a time, the one with the higher current charge.
I had no idea about the upward camera tilt and I've been flying the mini for 3months now. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome! Happy flying!
Flying without safety guards: "Oh okay, that's perfectly reasonable and legal."
Flying with safety guards: "Bro, are you mad? You could kill someone with that..."
The extra weight of those tiny plastic bois is clearly enough to cave someone's head in
THIS IS FACTS MANNN
Tbh, i would rather have 1 battery at 100% than have 3 batteries at 33%.. So sequential charging is the better way imho.
Yeah, I guess it's personal preference. The longer flight time means I am charging a lot less so it's not a big deal. 😀
That's plain stupid: charging all batteries in parallel takes the same time as charging 1 battery on condition that the charger can supply enough power for all batteries. So this charger is a cheap silly charger. you pay a maximum for DJI quality and you don't get the quality... I just bought / pre ordered a Hubsan Zino 2
@@francisverhelst9375 Just so happens that de Mini charger isn't powerfull enough to do that, so your point is understandable, but hypothetical.
Maybe the charger is designed this way by choice? Makes it easier to charge on the road, for example
@@francisverhelst9375 well, on the other hand it works with standard quick charge adapters. Only sad thing is that my phone comes with 27W charger and this has only 18W. And because phone has bigger battery, one battery can be possibly charged in one hour as well, which is not that bad.
agree with u
Short, Concise and to the point. Thank you...I hate videos that take 25 minutes to try and search what I need. Thank you
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Loving my 1st drone, only thing I need to RTM about is the little symbol at the bottom showing where your controller is pointing and where the drone is, it is often miles off, with the drone showing behind you at takeoff, not sure if it's a weak signal, I need to wait longer, or it needs calibrated. It's handy to make sure you are pointing straight at it when it's far away.
WOW! just the tip to get the Gimbal pointing up is amazing! Thanks so much
You bet! Cheers! 😀
I ordered my Mavic Mini yesterday thanks to many good reviews and informative videos like this one here. I am so excited about my first drone being on its way!
Awesome! Good luck with it!
One of the best. Please keep them coming.👍
Thanks very much! I will. 😀
I love your videos Steve, I always learn something new when I watch one of your videos! Mike
Thanks Mike, I appreciate it! 👍
I just learnt that the RTH also doubles as an emergency stop aka pause. That’s very handy to know! Tyvm good sir! 👌🏼🌈 learning something new everyday 😌
This earned a + 👍🏼 for this video from me
Awesome! The pause feature has bailed me out a number of times, it's a very good thing to know. Happy flying! 😀
There’s been an update so you can now change ISO, aperture and shutter speed in video mode
Yes, absolutely! It should have been there from day one but I am so happy it was added. Happy flying!
there is no aperture control
Just got my Mini and your video was very helpful. THANKS!
Glad it was helpful! Good luck with your Mini! 👍😀
Thanks for this video! I didn’t even realize I could tilt the camera upwards a bit. Awesome 🙏🏾💪🏾
You bet, thanks for watching! Yeah, camera up is pretty cool. 😀
One of the best review videos for dji mavic mini

I did learn a few things. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Terrific! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful Calgary winter. Great video.
Thank you!
Very informative. Thank you
Thanks for watching! 👍
Learnt quite a few unique things. Thanks
Awesome! thanks for watching!
I can say that I learned a lot more than just one thing about operating my mini today! Just the manual joystick takeoff function by itself was huge. I use an S8 with the remote and with the home button directly where the takeoff button is located I had quite a few moments of frustration with the app closing while trying to get airborne. Keep putting out great content and I will keep watching! :)
Awesome! Good to hear. Enjoy your Mini!
Thank you so much for this video
You're welcome, thank for watching!
Great tips thanks
Thanks for watching Peter. Cheers!
Thanks Steve, some very handy tips, especially the over exposure warning that I didn't know about 👍
Cool! Good to hear! 😀
"Remote Control RTH is also a pause button!" Thank you Steve!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Now i don't dare to touch it :) According to manual it initiates RTH by flying upwards first (good when drone is just below the tree) or when it's close to home point it initiates landing (great if drone is just above rock, puddle, lake, tree ...). So it has three different actions of which pause is actually the least deadly.
Just bought my first drone. Mavic mini. This was SUPER helpful and to the point. Thanks for taking the time to share this info.
Thanks for watching Dave! Good luck with your Mini, it's a fun little drone! Cheers!
Just for showing us how to point the gimbal upwards you are the man!
Haha! Thanks! 👍
ALL of that was helpful! Usually videos like this are just click bait with maybe one "okay" tip, but each of those were great! Thanks!
Terrific and thanks for the feedback! Cheers!
Thanks for the quick tips 🙂
Very useful tips!
Thanks Ed!
I thought I new it all about the Mini. You proved me wrong: did not know about the pause or the manual ISO. Thank you!!

Hey I have a question. I got a brand new mavic mini. I hooked up the batteries in the charger and connected the controller on the batteries. When charging the controller. Only 2 lights wil move indicating it is charging. After 1 fully night it is still 2. And even when olugged in the wall.
Thx
Good tips brother... ✌🏻😎

¡Muchas gracias!

I did, learn one thing I mean, I broke down and bought a mini, I comb through the apps for my drones and normally figure it all out , but the return to home button working as a pause button was something I missed. The mini is much more pleasing to fly than I expected, very responsive and has more range than I really need, always a plus, I don’t miss the optical avoidance at all, in fact since I have flown the mini a few times I can see how it’s a hindrance on my other drones. I’m going to switch it off on those drones as well. The only thing I can say slightly negative is return to home isn’t as accurate on the mini as the other DJI drones I own. It’s apparently not precision landing, but still it’s close enough and it does the main thing, it comes home! Lol, but they just added option in the go fly app for what the mini will do at signal loss. I believe the default is still return to home, but they added hover in place and land as options for what the mini does upon losing controller signal. Probably dangerous to the mini’s health giving some people those options to play around with, lol. Still liking your videos Steve, great job!
Haha! That's funny! Yeah, I agree it's really nice to fly. That was the first thing I noticed coming from the Spark. I agree in regards to obstacle avoidance too. I thought I wanted more yet I almost always had it switched off on my Spark. Enjoy your Mini and happy, safe flying!
Thank you very much, very interesting video my friend honestly I didn’t know about the upwards gimbal camera movement.👍👍👍👍👍👍🙋🏻♂️
Thanks Alfredo! Happy flying! 😀
The most useful point for me was the weight of the drone. Before that, I could not understand why I cannot fly further than 30/50m. After I took off the protective cage I could start to use it as it should be used. Noone mentioned it before. Thanks a lot!
Great! Glad it helped out. 👍
Amazing vid man! 👌👌👌

Thanks learnt a lot like the pause feature and setting the video exposure. I didn’t know you could get ND filters either. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks subscribed
Awesome, thanks! I have a ND filter review coming up very soon. Stay tuned.
