If I ever wanted a producer on my team, it would be Trevor, because i would damn well be wanting him to do some vocals and assist with writing some songs.

Just rediscovering them. They were so much more than ‘Video killed the Radio Star’, even though I love that song. No surprise, with the great Trevor Horn behind them.
I still remember when I was a child, I was so amazed by the sound of the horse run at the last bit of the song. The sound played by stereo was from left to right. I used to close my eyes and just imagine there was a horse running in front of me.

Produced Art Of Noise, Propaganda, worked with Seal, Rod Stewart, Lisa Stansfield,founded a record label ZTT. He is certainly talented , there was a time anything he touched turned to super hit!
This song made me shed tears in 1980 aged 11 , even more when I understood English. Buggles 1st album was outstanding, 🎉😢😊pure masterpiece...since 1980 know all the lyrics of each song by heart, have listened to this wonderful album 500 times at least...the good old days...the end is sooooo

Now I work for the BBC. The guy really has come down in the world since his heady days at Elstree. By the way, do you know how many people actually work at the BBC? About half of them. The rest are ego-obsessed bloated nonentities like Step-hen Nolan who is paid more than a thousand pounds a DAY to spout rubbish on radio in a bizarre dialect no-one can understand. Get rid of the tv licence, make the BBC stand on its own feet like other broadcasters, and they won't be so keen to throw sackloads of cash at rubbish presenters.
What a great, beautiful song, it should have been a hit single, really. A BIG hit single, but they had a hard time after "Video killed..." God knows why.. People weren't faithful to them. I saw the video for this song on TV after knowing and buying the 2 EP's for "Video Killed" and "Plastic Edge". And I loved it right from the start but it took me some time to have the album... Nowadays I treasure my two CD's of the Buggles. This is maybe my favourite song by them, in the end, although I loved the hit singles. A kind of classical element, a melancholy melody, and the lyrics speak to me... and a cool video clip, really. Very well done ! I wish Geoff Downes and Trevor Horn would have made more music together.

I just saw the Buggles open for Seal last week (6/7/23) at the Greek Theater in LA and they played this live. Flawless performance. The Age of Plastic is one of my favorite albums of all time.

@@torley I thought the live version was great. It was surreal seeing Trevor performing some Buggles tunes live because I thought the Buggles in any incarnation would never tour. Sitting there at the Greek hearing Elstree, Video Killed.., Plastic Age and I Am a Camera live was a bit surreal. I hope Trevor decides to do a longer Buggles set at some point and maybe even get Geoff Downes to come along and play too.

I grew up in this era, but I completely missed this song. I've always loved "Video Killed the Radio Star", but had never heard this beautiful song. It has such pathos, and is so moving. I recently began hearing it through Bluetooth on Gem Radio based in Dublin Ireland, and couldn't get it out of my head. Of course, I had to do a search using what I thought were the lyrics which to me sounded like "Elk Street, remember me". Despite my poor interpretation, it still popped up in the search. Thanks so much for posting it. I'll be collecting more of The Buggles now. What incredible talent.
