    A calorie is a unit of measurement but it doesn't measure weight or length. A calorie is a unit of energy. When you hear something contains 100 calories, it's a way of describing how much energy your body could get from eating or drinking it.
    Calories aren't bad for you. Your body needs calories for energy. But eating too many calories and not burning enough of them off through activity can lead to weight gain.
    Most people don't need to do this, but all people can benefit from eating a healthy, balanced diet that includes the right number of calories not too many, not too few.
    Calories in different types of Indian foods, and how to choose foods with low calories and high calories are discussed in this video.
    All foods are not the same. If you have a specific goal of weight loss or weight gain then you should be aware of calories in your food.

      @@revachawla8812 it doesn't work like that, you have to create deficit by burning more than consume or consuming on proper diet. Eating 1500-1200 calories will still gain weight if you don't burn calories.
